Style spotlight: The Voice UK judge- Jessie J

By Andrea Petrou on April 24th, 2012

We’ve had our style eye on Jessie J for a while now, pinpointing her as the one to watch many moons ago.

And it seems we were right with the singer carving out a fashion niche for herself thanks to her love of Versacesque 80s patterns, skintight catsuits and cute hotpants.

Her new role as a judge on the BBC’s talent show – The Voice UK- has also done wonders for her style profile with many sitting up and taking note of this young singer.

One thing we heart about Jessie is that she’s not afraid to experiment with her look opting for some styles that could be seen as garish.

This includes a wardrobe of leopard print dresses and trousers in bright colours, however, the singer has a way of toning these down to make them items we all want to wear.

We want her as our new wardrobe sharing BFF.

See the gallery below for her style.

Spring/Summer 2011 trends: Pleats

By Andrea Petrou on April 20th, 2012

Pleats appeared on the AW 2011 catwalks with mini cheerleader skirts making a huge impact on the highstreet. And this season they are here to stay.

Spotted on all the major catwalks including Dior, House of Holland and Rodarte this look has been given a summer make over thanks to a range of pastel pinks and ethereal creams.

Hemlines have also been made longer to reflect the relaxed feel of the 70s, while fabrics are lighter and more floaty.

Team up maxi skirts with simple vests or go for a loose chiffon vest for a smarter occasion.

Spring/summer 2012 make up trends: Natural baby skin

By Andrea Petrou on April 18th, 2012

If you’re not a natural tanner and don’t like the idea of fake tan, then the natural baby face make up trend is right up your street.

Highlighted on the Missoni and Stella McCartney SS 2012 shows, this trend embraces the pale, natural look, with barely there foundation and blusher.

However, you don’t have to risk going bare faced to achieve this look. Choose a light tinted moisturiser with light reflecting qualities to cover flaws and give your skin an even look.

Keep lips natural with a splash of gloss and eyes minimal with a splash of foundation.

By Andrea Petrou on April 12th, 2012

The rain may be putting a dampener on our Spring/Summer clothing, but our make up doesn’t have to suffer.

By Andrea Petrou on April 10th, 2012

Topshop has launched its high summer 2012 collection, and as usual we heart every single piece in the range.

This season the highstreet store has gone right back to the 80s and early 90s offering us faded denim jeans, mini patterned ra-ra skirts and oversized tees.

There’s also printed leggings, faded denim waistcoats and dip dyed jeans to whet your fashion appetite.

If you’re a bit of a girls girl  then there’s also a cute collection of little floral and vintage numbers all given an 80s twist thanks to the colour palate and structured bralets.

Blossom this spring with Kelly Love SS12 collection

By Elisabeth on April 5th, 2012

We love the delicate, romantic flower prints in the Kelly Love SS12 collection. Australian born, London based designer Kelly Love’s (yes that’s her real name!) creations are influenced by her time spent in Japan, where the notion of owning her own label was born.

The SS12 collection is inspired by outdoor games from a child’s imagination, nursery rhymes and picnics in the meadow, along with the contrast of old fashioned femininity, vintage lingerie and 1930′s cocktail parties. Grown up fantasy exists in layered dresses with exclusive prints, crochet collars, pleated jersey in dusty rose, French antique lace and olive jacquard spotted silk.

We are definitely in love! Visit www.kellylove.com for more information.
