Tweed is one trend that never really disappears and always has a presence in our wardrobes whether it be a hat or jacket.
However, this season it’s taking centre stage thanks to the likes of Celine and Jean Paul Gaultier who both made this fabric a main look in their A/W 2011 collections.
One piece that’s hot on the highstreet this season is the chic tweed jacket, and it’s good news for those looking to go for a modern look thanks to the huge range of cute tweed shorts and shoes.
For those wishing to look a little bit more classic and give a nod to Downton Abbey a double breasted equestrian style blazer is a great option.
Below are our top five Tweed must haves. Just click to buy.
Nancy Shevell has become one to watch in the fashion world following her wedding to one of the world’s most eligible bachelors.
The heiress who tied the knot with Sir Paul McCartney in a 40s style white frock designed by Stella McCartney, has caught the style crews eye thanks to her classic style.
Unlike many a superstar’s wife Nancy opts for understated chic. She’s a huge fan of the classic shift dress, which she dresses up with embellishments for a night out, while velvet is also a regular is her wardrobe.
However, she’s also a fan of the vintage trend, often spotted in a range of 60s and 40s pieces.
We’re sure with style like this she gets on very well with her designer step daughter.
Gone are the days when Halloween parties were full to the brim of cats and witches with many of us looking outside the ghoulish box in a bid to make a lasting impression.
One costume that has been hot over the past few years is of course Jessica Rabbit and who can blame us ladies for opting for this look. Not only does it tick the fancy dress box but it’s also sexy and if you don’t go down the “ready made” route, relatively easy to put together.
Grab a red maxi dress from the highstreet or give the look your own twist with a shorter velvet number. Add some on-trend black or blue elbow length gloves and of course that statement red lippy and you’re bound to bag your Roger.
See the gallery below for our fave Jessica Rabbit costume ideas.
Not only has period drama Downton Abbey taken over our Saturday nights, it’s also filtering into our wardrobes. That’s right we’re all going early 20th Century mad with feathers, fur capes and elbow length gloves all becoming must-haves as we all strive to take some influences from the show.
And lets not forget the period hats, velvet jackets, corsets and Victorian boots that are also flying off the shelves. We know that sometimes it’s hard to find the time to scour those vintage shops to get those gorge originals so we’ve hit the highstreet to help you find those must-have pieces that will have you looking all Crawley like without having to do any of that hard work.
See the gallery below.
The pop elite came out in force to sing the late Michael Jackson’s praises over the weekend.
Leona Lewis gave a nod to the masculine trend -although we have to say she looked more like a Spanish waiter – in high waisted trousers, a red sash and white shirt, while Alexandra Burke went for an embellished long sleeved dress.
Also taking to the stage was Pixie Lott who looked hot in a silver 50s tea dress and Christina Aguilera who went for a shift sleeved dress.

For the past few years leopard print has clawed its way into winter collections and this season is no different. Thanks to the likes of Marc Jacobs, Prada and Burberry the print is prowling the highstreet making a mark on coats, skirts and dresses and of course shoes.
If you want to follow the trend but too afraid to go the full way then the latter is a perfect way to show off this look. Team up wedge boots, as seen on Ellie Goulding and Princess Beatrice with jeans for a casual nod to leopard print or opt for a black dress for a smarter look.
Those wishing to wear this trend at a posher event can copy Kylie Minogue and Georgia May Jagger and go for a strappy number, while court shoes adorned with this print are great for the office.
We’ve picked out our top five highstreet pairs.
‘Puss in Boots’ actress Salma Hayek was recently praised by her good friend Demi More for her sense of style who told Salma she looks “so put together” every time they meet.
Salma’s trick? Dresses and more dresses. Salma said: “I told [Demi] it’s a lot easier to grab a fabulous little dress than to put together a whole casual outfit with jeans, a top, the right jacket, and great shoes. You slip on a dress and you can’t go wrong.”
We hear you Salma, come winter or summer we love dresses!
Here are a few pictures of Salma looking beautiful…

John Galliano Spring-Summer 2012
A model displays a creation by British designer Bill Gaytten for John Galliano Spring-Summer 2012 Ready-To-Wear collection show in Paris, France, on October 2, 2011.
What’s in a name… John Galliano may have fallen from grace in the fashion industry – first he was fired by Dior then his own-name house– so it goes without saying that we were curious about the John Galliano SS12 catwalk show at Paris Fashion Week.
At the reins of Dior and John Galliano is now the British designer Bill Gaytten, Galliano’s right hand man for 23 years, who sent models down the runway in Mary Poppins hats, flimsy see-though dresses (knickers on display anyone?), floppy corsages and mermaid plaits. Nothing much new there then, but a beautiful collection nonetheless.

I love this London based lingerie brand that mixes quirky, pin-up inspired design with all things playful, flirty and even a little bit dirty’.
Playful Promises was first set up by Emma Parker in 2004 and recently opened a Soho boutique which is home to its stunning vintage lingerie, gifting and swimwear lines. It’s definitely worth stopping by to stock up on gorgeous lingerie that is sure to keep things hot during the cold winter months.
