Pictures: Prince William and Kate Middleton’s London and New York wax figures

By Andrea Petrou on April 5th, 2012

Wax figures of Prince William and Kate Middleton have been unveiled at London’s Madame Tussauds and the museum in New York City.

The figures, which mark the first anniversary of the royal couple, have been styled and modelled on the pair at two separate events.

In London Kate wears the famous blue Issa dress that she wore when the couple’s engagement was announced.

“We created the engagement scene, that press call when they both looked a little bit nervous but so happy,” Louis Wiltshire, the sculptor of Kate’s head, told the Telegraph.

Over in New York the Duchess is dressed in the pale lilac Alexander McQueen gown that she wore to the BAFTA Brits to Watch event.

And if that wasn’t enough, fashion fans can also get a look at Kate’s War Horse Alice Temperley black dress in Amsterdam where another replica is displayed.

See below for all the pics.

Zara Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

By Andrea Petrou on April 3rd, 2012

Another day and another spring/summer collection that’s got us all hot under the collar and itching to pull out our credit cards.

This time it’s one of our highstreet faves Zara, which has gone all girly, while keeping it’s trademark classic style. Pleated skirts and sheer black tops make up the collection’s eveningwear offering, whilst pastels are hot on this highstreet lovelies rails.

Pink trousers, floral pants and big shoulder bags are all key pieces in this season’s range, whilst 60s patterns on shorts and 70s kaftans are also ones to look out for.

We want it all.

See the gallery below for all the collection.

Pictures: Nickelodeon’s 25th Annual Kids Choice – Katy Perry, Kristen Stewart and more

By Andrea Petrou on April 2nd, 2012

Celebrities turned up in their kookiest outfits for Nickelodeon’s 25th Annual Kids Choice Awards. Katy Perry kept her trademark wacky look with a short lime green skirt and crop top, while Selena Gomez followed this trend in a sequined mini dress and contrasting bralet.

Going for a safer option was Kelly Osbourne who went for a black 50s frock, and Emma Stone who also played it cool in a cream skater skirt dress.

In the not so best dressed corner was Heidi Klum who looked mismatched with her not so flattering bodycon dress and thigh high boots, and Ashley Tisdale who went for a strapless red dress that did nothing to flatter that figure.

Perhaps they should have taken a leaf out of the fashion book of Kristen Stewart who shone in a blue lace dress.

See the gallery below for all the star style.

Happy Birthday Lady Gaga

By Andrea Petrou on March 30th, 2012

Pop’s quirky princess Lady Gaga celebrated getting one year older this week.
The starlet opted for a quiet do with close friends and family for her 26th birthday although she still “had a blast”. She ditched the disco and went to a cycling class and the gym and it seems the only diva demand she had was that Bruce Springsteen was played in the studio.
After the exercise the pop princess returned home to a meal cooked by her mum.

If Gaga’s style was as simple as her birthday we doubt we’d be as fashion focused on the singer. Thankfully her meat dress, statement PVC dresses and undies as well as those super high shoes give us something to talk about.

Happy Birthday Lady Gaga. To celebrate we’ve put together a gallery of your style.

After what seemed like a long wait, Mad Men made its come back last night.

However, although the channel had changed, the fab fashion hadn’t with our leading ladies sporting some fab sixties frocks from satin puffballs to patterned daytime looks.

To celebrate the come back we’ve decided to have a little bit of a flashback and look at some of the fashion from the past series, as well as now.

Style spotlight: Sophie Dahl

By Andrea Petrou on March 27th, 2012

Sophie Dahl’s life has been like a fairytale. The granddaughter of author Roald Dahl was spotted at her super curvy stage by a scout after she helped pick up her shopping, and the rest, as they say, is history. Gracing the catwalks in basques and lingerie at the beginning of her career, the supermodel broke the super skinny taboo showing that curvy girls could be just as beautiful.

She also paved the way for plus sized models to be considered in campaigns and on the runway. However, like many a celebrity in the spotlight the pressure to be skinny took its toll and Sophie shrank down to a teeny, but still as beautiful size 10.

Although we haven’t seen too much of the model of late, her style is still one we love. Keeping in with the classic look the model is often spotted in LBDs on a night out.

When she’s with her hubby Jamie Cullum, Sophie will often opt for cute ballet pumps, whilst small kitten heels come out for an evening event.

Sophie is also happy to try different trends with tartans and patterned fabrics being staple pieces in her wardrobe.

See the gallery below for all her style.

Gwyneth Paltrow for Lindex

By Andrea Petrou on March 23rd, 2012

She may have been in the papers this week for her very public spat with Kate Moss, but Gwyneth Paltrow has shown she’s got much more in her favour.

The Hollywood actress has been modelling the latest collection for fashion house Lindex, which suits her classic style down to a T.

Preppy striped tops and dresses teamed with classic blazers form the main part of the collection, while polka dot shorts and coloured jeans give it a modern day twist.

We think Gwyn models it perfectly, we just wish that we had her figure too.

See the gallery below for all the pics.

Fashion Face Off: Gwyneth Paltrow vs Kate Moss

By Andrea Petrou on March 22nd, 2012

Rumour has it that two of the world’s stylist ladies had a little spat this week. At Sir Phillip Green’s 60th birthday party Kate Moss and Gwyneth Paltrow had a little falling out after they bumped into each other on the beach.
The story goes a little bit like this: Super fit Gwyneth ran past a crisp munching Kate who asked the Hollywood star why she was jogging. Gwyneth replied: “So I don’t look like you when I’m older.”
This prompted Kate to throw some crisps at Gwyneth and tell her to “eat some f****** carbs”.

Of course the rift has been denied by Gwyneth’s people but we’re not so sure we buy it.

And the little spat has prompted us to get a little bit feisty in the fashion stakes. We want you to tell us who of the pair is the most stylish.

Is it Gwyn with her classic, laid back style and statement party dresses or do you favour Kate’s kooky, soft rock looks?

View the gallery below and leave your comments to let us know.

By Andrea Petrou on March 21st, 2012

The spring style season is firmly upon us with stores stocked high with the latest fashions.

If you’re a bit of a vintage gal at heart then one trend that will really appeal this season is the Great Gatsby look.

Taking inspiration from the 20s flapper style this trend is all about being as flamboyant as you like.

Go for silk wide leg trousers and lace vests complete with turbanesque headgear for a cool daytime look and dress the trend up for an evening out with mid-length pleated chiffon frocks, lace, pearls and of course feathers and fringing.

Team up the threads with pale foundation and bright red lippy and you’re ready to show off that roaring 20s look.

See the gallery below for all the designer inspiration.

Top five plastic fantastic celebrities

By Andrea Petrou on March 20th, 2012

They’ve got bodies, the boobs, the foreheads that refuse to crease and those trout pout lips.

If you’re Barbie we can see why you’d be envious. But to the modern day woman some celebrities have taken the plastic surgery that little bit too far.

While we’ve laughed at the likes of Jordan and Janice Dickinson for a good few years now, TOWIE has introduced us to some plastic fantastics who make Jocelyn Wildenstein look like Mary Poppins.

Notably Chloe Sims, who has transformed herself from a natural beauty to a walking, talking plastic bag thanks to her fake boobs, bowl fulls of botox and upcoming bum implants.

Pal Lauren Pope has also gone to far in her quest to fulfil the Essex gal look.

And lets not forget as well as lament the beauty that was once Megan Fox who’s obsession with the plastic led to her downfall. See the gallery below for our top five plastic fantastics.

Top five style influential woman in politics and the Royal family: Sarah Palin, Kate Middleton and more

By Andrea Petrou on March 19th, 2012

There’s no doubt about it, whether we like it or not, the royals, politician’s wives and politicians themselves have a huge impact on our style.
Whatever highstreet number Kate Middleton wears sells out in seconds, while her inlaw Zara Phillips shows us that casual can be cool.

We’re hot on Michelle Obama’s style, and Samantha Cameron’s love of Erdam and patterns also shapes the way some of us dress.

Then there’s the politicians that we thought would never feature in an influential top five. And in this case we’re talking about Sarah Palin.

We never thought this middle aged politician’s uniform high waisted skirts and satin blouses would make the grade but it seems this style, plus her love of all outdoorsy wear has hit a fashion note with the nation – well they do say fashion is fickle.

See the gallery below for our top five.

Style Spotlight: The Hunger Games’ Elizabeth Banks

By Elisabeth on March 16th, 2012

The Hunger Games actress Elizabeth Banks is one of those you immediately recognise but can’t really place (or is that just me?).

She’s the cute next door kind of American girl, with beautiful golden locks and a charming smile. A rising star in the world of film, Elizabeth has also made sure people have taken notice of her as she’s graced the red carpets recently. Showing off in on-trend block colours, she’s certainly one to watch.

Check out the gallery below to see some of Elizabeth Banks’ recent red carpet looks, including the lemon yellow sequin Bill Blass dress she wore to the UK premiere of The Hunger Games.

Showing that it's not just Angelina that can do legs!
