By Andrea Thatcher on February 11th, 2009

Catwalk Queen‘s Gemma Cartwright writes…

Those Gossip Girl kids definitely gets around, don’t they? It seems like not a glossy goes to print without some mention of the cast of fashion’s favorite show.

In the March edition of Harper’s Bazaar (yep, them again), Ed Westwick gets seduced by supermodel / photographer / all-round fashionista Helena Christensen in a shoot by snapper Terry Richardson.

The shoot features the couple looking very lustful in clothes by the likes of Max Mara, Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana and Burberry. Keep reading for more pics…

Gossip Girl gets fashion influx with Chanel Iman, Misshapes and more

By Andrea Thatcher on February 10th, 2009

Chanel Iman 2.jpg

OMG, Serena throws the best parties! Looks like Chanel Iman is confirmed for that episode of Gossip Girl, the one with former Moldy Peaches singer Adam Green, The Misshapes and Patrick McMullen.

This will be a great addition to Chanel’s resume if she’s looking to cohost with Bar Rafaeli for the resurrected House of Style.

This continues Gossip Girl’s streak of starring *celebrities* of the fashion world who no one else has heard of let alone will recognize. But I guess it will help Leigh Lezark improve her brand awareness.

If you’re missing Gossip Girl during it’s holiday hiatus (will Chuck and Blair ever get it together??) then check out this video of Leighton Meester on the set of her Teen Vogue cover shoot. While she doesn’t wear headbands or colored tights as regularly as her GG counterpart Blair, Leighton has a young, fashionable style all her own. We love!

Get the look: Serena’s Porter Grey Thanksgiving outfit

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on November 19th, 2008

Serena Thanksgiving outfit.jpg

Even if Serena’s skirt was a little slutty for a family Thanksgiving, no one can deny her outfit was chic.

If you want to get her look, just click over to Shopbop.com. Her outfit consisted of the Porter Grey Silk Charmeuse T Shirt, $225 (the teal version is on sale for $112.50), and Silk Crepe High-Waisted Skirt, $305. (The skirt doesn’t seem to be available online right now.)

If nothing else, we think you can take inspiration from the color combination Serena rocked for Turkey Day.

Blair's blouse.jpg

This week’s Gossip Girl saw some really fun fashions, including Blair’s 18th birthday party outfit.

The backless ruffle blouse she wore was the Bill Blass Flamenco backless blouse, $1,990.

We’ve got pictures of some fab looks from Gossip Girl’s Thanksgiving episode after the jump if you need some inspiration for your own turkey day ensemble. (No spoilers.)

Get the look: Blair Waldorf’s Milly sweater

By Andrea Thatcher on September 29th, 2008

Milly sweater.jpg

If this isn’t the exact sweater Blair wore to terrorize Little J in tonight’s Gossip Girl, then it’s a really close match.

The Milly ribbon bow cardigan, $355, fits right in to Blair’s preppy sophisticate look.

And if it’s your thing, it will fit seamlessly (and softly – mmm, cashmere) into your fall wardrobe. Hand-tacked grosgrain ribbons and pearl button closures are sweet without being saccharine.

Jessica Szohr wears Bing Bang by Anna Sheffield on Gossip Girl

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on September 17th, 2008

Jessica Szohr copy.jpg

Sure, Blair and Serena get most of the fashion attention on Gossip Girl, but where’s the love for Vanessa?

We may not always be huge fans of her character’s actions (always getting in the way of beloved couples reuniting!) but her style sense is bang on.

In this week’s episode, actress Jessica Szohr wore the “Nailed Heart” necklace from Bing Bang by Anna Sheffield, keep reading to see the piece!

Gossip Girl, New York Fashion Week - Gossip

We know Gossip Girl premieres Monday, but where will the cast be Thursday?

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on August 29th, 2008

Gossip Girl cast.jpg

We’re fully expecting New York’s coolest cast to be all over fashion week to coincide with the press surge surrounding the Gossip Girl season premiere on Monday (we’ve got a sneak peek here).

But Thursday night is presenting something of a quandry. Lorick, the label that doubles as Blair’s Mom’s label on the show, is presenting their collection from 6-8 p.m. and promises that Leighton Meister, Blake Lively and Taylor Momsen will be in attendance.

But, Be EcoChic, whose event starts at 7 p.m., says stars of Gossip Girl will be walking its runway. Since Be EcoChic is the more likely candidate for menswear, we’re guessing the boys and girls have split up for the night.

To choose? Or to wear out our Choos going to both?

Sneak preview of the Gossip Girl season premiere!

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on August 27th, 2008

Normally, the approach of Labor Day kind of sucks, knowing summer is coming to an end and it’s probably your last long weekend in a while. But this year we have something to look forward to – the return of Gossip Girl in all its Hamptonsy fashion glory! Here’s a sneak peek at the season premiere. Some steamy Nate action and some situationally- innapropriate dressing from Serena can’t distract us from the destinct lack of Blair, but it’s better than nothing.

Gossip Girl, Yay or Nay

Yay or Nay Wednesday: A Blair fashion misstep?

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on August 20th, 2008

Leighton Meester copy.jpg

We know a lot of you are in the Blair can do no fashion wrong camp, and believe us, our tent is firmly staked. But…

Are we out of line to say that this mixed print outfit on Leighton Meester from the Gossip Girl set is a little iffy? We’re not sure if the matchy-matchy colors make it better or worse.

Yay or Nay? Send your comments to andrea@shinymedia.com.
