Victoria Beckham is showing she’s determined to stay in her sky scraper heels despite being warned they are damaging her feet.
The ex Spice Girl has been following the Alexander Technique, which focuses on building up the body’s core muscle groups and she’s been performing these ‘miracle exercises’ to improve her posture and lengthen her back muscles. The technique is also claims to alleviate foot pain by shifting body weight more evenly and reducing the pressure placed on the feet.
The move follows reports last month that Victoria had been told she would need an operation to correct her bunions and incorrect posture caused by wearing heels. However as the operation would mean taking a break from her hectic career and wearing flat shoes for a few months, Victoria wants to rectify her problems in an other away.
A source told the Daily Mail: “Victoria has been working hard on getting a straight back and correcting her terrible posture. You can tell that something is working as the years of Victoria’s shoulders being slumped are over, she is walking straighter now,”

It seems not everyone on the fashion scene is as keen as we thought on Lady Gaga, namely Antonio Berardi, who was offered the chance to work with her but turned it down.
The designer best known for his hell-less latex shoes , which are adored by Victoria Beckham, and who has a range of celebrity clients including Megan Fox, Amber Rose, Eva Mendes and Gwyneth Paltrow, told The Herald Sun in Australia: “I was approached to design a clothing range with Lady Gaga but I knocked it back because I wasn’t interested in someone whose music is meaningless,”
He said this was because: “Her music is meaningless now so what impact will it have in 20 years?” he said in Sydney.
Oh dear, we hope the comments don’t set off a star studded fight.

While some supermodels were up all night partying at the British Fashion Awards, Gisele Bundchen was probably awake for a completely different reason.
The supermodel and husband Tom Brady have announced the birth of their baby boy who made his entrance into the world on Tuesday.
Making the announcement during a press conference yesterday, Tom referred to the birth as “a wonderful experience” in his life. He said both baby and Gisele were “doing fine” but they couple were still struggling to find a name.
A big congratulations to both.

Scarlett Johansson is no stranger to magazine spreads and front covers, so we’re hardly surprised that she pulls off this photoshoot for UK Harper’s Bazaar in effortless style.
The actress posed for the January issue of the iconic magazine, where she wore a combination of this year’s trends including leopard print, leather, studs and 80s retro trainers seamlessly.
However, no matter how good those leather pants look on this starlet, we advise you to think carefully about wearing them on a night out, blue legs and hyperthermia are not a good look.

It seems to be the day for celebrity endorsements. Not to be out done at the news of Julia Robert’s new title as Lancôme’s new global ambassadress, L’oreal has just announced that it’s recruited Diane Kruger as its worldwide spokeswoman.
The German born actress, whose face “launched a thousand ships” (she played Helen of Troy in case you’re confused), will represent the brand’s new launches in hair care, hair colour and make-up.
Diane said: “It’s a great honour and a huge pleasure to become a Spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris. I admire the brand, not only for the quality and innovation of its products, but also because it represents diversity and excellence across the world, values which are very close to my heart. I am, of course, also delighted to be joining the other L’Oréal Paris Spokespeople, an extremely talented, widely-admired group of people.”
We hope the two latest announcements, featuring the faces, which will launch a thousand brands, don’t spark the next battle of cosmetics. It would be a tight contest.

Julia Roberts won our hearts a very long time ago in Pretty Woman and she’s continued to do so ever since, starring in films including Notting Hill and Runaway Bride.
So we were really pleased when we heard she’ll not only be gracing our favourite romcoms but also the pages of mags and ad breaks following being signed up as Lancôme’s new global ambassadress.
Following in the glittering footsteps of Kate Winslet, the Hollywood star known for her flawless complexion and big smile will represent Lancôme across the globe, however details are still shaky about what she’ll actually be doing.
Youcef Nabi, president of Lancôme International, told WWD: “By her remarkable personality and career, Julia Roberts is an emblematic woman of her time,”
“Her exceptional talent, her radiance and her strong commitments perfectly echo Lancôme’s values. We are convinced she will embody the brand in the most sublime way possible.”

It’s not been a good few weeks for Victoria Beckham.
Last week we reported she had been advised to undergo surgery for foot and back pains after years of wearing high heels and this weekend £350,000 worth of dresses from her spring/summer collection were stolen during a hijack at Heathrow Airport.
The shipment was headed for New York, where the frocks were due to sell at Neiman Marcus.
Around 50 to 75 of frocks were swiped in what was believed to be a pre planned robbery, and occurred after two thieves followed Victoria’s delivery men to the pick-up point in west London. They made their move after the driver stopped to make another delivery, bursting out of the back on the van with two boxes and leaving the driver in shock.
We hope the collection gets remade in time.

It was only earlier this week when we predicted Lily Allen would venture into fashion, and, we’re pleased to say we were right.
The singer, who has previously designed a range for New Look and had an input in Chanel’s creations, as well as a range of modelling jobs under her belt, announced to today on Radio 1 that she will not be performing for a few years so she can concentrate on opening a boutique.
Lily told Sara Cox that she will be working with her sister and plans to open a store called Lucy In Disguise, which aims to make designer labels more accessible to cash strapped fashionistas.
The idea behind it is that we’ll be able to visit the store, choose a look and hire it out.
“It’s about getting really nice clothes but letting people rent them for affordable prices so they can go out and feel like a million dollars and it won’t cost them a million dollars,” Lily said.
We think it’s a fantastic idea.

Last week we got a little bit too overexcited at the (incorrect) news regarding a vegetarian clothing collaboration between Stella McCartney and Leona Lewis, and we were crushed when we found out it was just a pesky rumour.
However, another week brings with it another rumour, this time that Stella is teaming up with Morrissey to launch a range of leather free footwear.
We think this partnership is nearly as good as the Leona one, after all Morrissey has a track record of saying no to meat. Not only was his 1985 album entitled Meat Is Murder, but he also bans any food that ‘used to have a face’ from his tours.
In fact he feels so strongly about the cause that earlier this year he also stormed off stage at a music festival because he was so disgusted by the smell of cooking meat from a nearby burger stand.
And it seems this collaboration really is going ahead with Stella telling the Daily Mail last week: “I’m working with Morrissey on a line of leather-free shoes which I’m really excited about.”
The range is still is its early stages but Stella also added it could be ready for next year. We’re going to start saving from now.

We knew there was a reason why we stuck to flat shoes most of the time. They may not look as good as heels, and next to our friends who can bear the pain, we’re also a darn sight shorter.
However, at least we won’t have to worry about getting problems like Victoria Beckham.
According to rumours the Spice Girl turned fashion designer, has been advised to have surgery to remove bunions on her feet after years of wearing skyscraper heels.
But despite the warnings Victoria has pulled out every trick on the book, including doing exercises and having insoles put into her shoes, to prevent having the op as it means she won’t be able to wear heels for a good few months.
Now that’s true fashion dedication.

Lindsay Lohan and Ungaro has been a long saga that we hoped would have tailed off by now.
However, just as we thought the actress, turned (bad) designer had hung up her sketchbook and pencils the tale has taken another turn.
As rumours ran riot that Lohan could be on her way out of the fashion house following her disasterous S/S2010 debut, Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige jumped to her defence telling WWD: “As we speak, she is in New York in shoots with Ungaro.”
He also denied reports claiming Ungaro chairman Asim Abdullah wanted the actress out.
And it seems Lindsay’s designs have been turning people on rather than off with the fashion house claiming Lohan has had a positive effective on the label’s sales since her arrival, even though her collection is yet to hit the shelves.
“There are some girls out there that whenever they move, whatever they wear, they attract attention, even if they make mistakes. It’s all publicity,” he added.
We’re sure they’ll be plenty more tales in this epic yet.

It’s with a huge sad sigh that we have to tell you that Leona Lewis is in fact NOT pairing up with Stella MaCartney to create an animal friendly clothing range, as we reported yesterday.
We knew it sounded too good to be true, and it’ll teach us not to get over excited when we hear things over the grapevine.
However the news has made us feel as bad as we would had we just been told that our “fat free” muffin wasn’t actually, er fat free.
The rumour, first heard about in OK Magazine, was quashed by Stella herself during her annual Christmas light Switch on. last night. She told Grazia magazine: ‘I’ve never heard anything about it – it’s news to me!’

We’ve reported on many a great designer and celebrity collaboration but we have to say we’re particularly excited about this one.
If the rumours, first started in OK Magazine, are to be believed Leona Lewis and Stella McCartney are teaming up to launch a range of animal-friendly clothing.
We think this is a match made in veggie heaven for X-Factor winner Leona who doesn’t wear suede, leather or other animal products and is public supporter of PETA, and Stella who has been a long-time vegetarian.
According to OK, a friend claimed Leona said: “I’m on a mission. I’d love to promote a line of non-leather bags and shoes that are affordable. I think more needs to be available and not so expensive.”
We really hope this isn’t a he said, she said story because we really think the two ladies could do amazing things together. Afterall Leona has great fashion sense and, well we all know about Stella’s talents.
We’ve already started guessing what the two may call the range.

Yesterday we told you about Prada’s way of standing out from the designer crowd by using a model instead of a celebrity and it seems other fashion houses have the same idea.
Paris designer YSL has today officially announced that Russian model Natalia Vodianova will be replacing (older) supermodel Christy Turlinton for its 2010 Spring range.
And that’s not all. It seems Natalie is also destined to deal with Stella McCartney and could front the stylish British brand after she made her only catwalk appearance in September for the label.
With so many high profile jobs under her tiny belt this is one model to keep an eye on.

There’s no denying that Blake Lively is completely gorgeous, and it seems that Victoria Beckham agrees. Following the news that Blake’s hairstyle is the most asked-for at the hairdressers, it’s now been suggested that she will also be the face of Victoria’s next collection of dresses.
Blake certainly makes Victoria’s designs look good – she’s pictured here in one of the dresses – and her figure is a lot more normal than those of the models Victoria usually uses to show off her designs.
We should probably keep in mind that this bit of info is still very much a rumour, but if it does happen, we’ll be looking forward to seeing Blake (and her hair) looking as stunning as always.
