You might still be reeling from the visual of a nude Karl Lagerfeld (even if it was just an illustration), but at least you will hopefully be a bit more prepared for the sight of Mr Marc Jacobs casually sprawled on a pink furry throw exposing more than just the newest ‘It’ bag – check out them tan lines!
The photo spread is set to appear in the January issue of Harper’s Bazaar, to coincide with the release of the revisited Stephen Sprouse graffiti designs for Louis Vuitton. You can read more about the limited edition collection over at our accessories sister site The Bag Lady.
Kate Moss is no longer a solo flyer for Longchamp. Last season she was thrown together with the very handsome Gaspard Ulliel, and now she has been joined by Sasha Pivovarova for the brand’s spring/summer ’09 campaign. Colourfully captured by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the duo appear to mirror each other with matching blonde choppy hair, sharp cheekbones, and perfect pouts. You’d hardly guess there was an 11-year gap in their ages, would you?
Last week we showed you 10 gifts under $100 (and 20 under $200 the week before that!) but now it’s time for our biggest and cheapest gift list yet. Check out the first ten items in our 50 under $50 roundup. Done your shopping? This doubles as a wish list for post-Christmas sales.
We wrapped up $20 gifts under $200 and are on to the $50-$100 price range. The first thing we looked for? A fab coat for gifting to your favorite girl. We like this Gap plaid belted coat, on sale for $94.99, because the plaid can be a little holiday, a little preppy or a little indie depending on the giftee’s style. It’s a little something different for the girl who usually sticks to pea coats.
This will be our last entry in the top 20 gifts under $200 before we start on 10 under $100, so if you spent a little too much on Black Friday don’t worry we’ve got you covered. The gift lists get cheaper as we go.
This fawn-colored clutch at number 16 makes an excellent unexpected neutral and looks so soft! A detachable wristlet and studs make the Stuart Weitzman Flex Bownight wristlet, on sale for $175.99, extra stylish.
We’re always on the lookout for stylish bags to take to work. To us, this means it has to hold a notebook and camera.
A little more special than the average leather tote, Tod’s Took Shopping Media bag, $1,750, has the style we look for in such a bag. Zippers and pockets look modern in new proportions on this slim
Our only question mark is the shoulder straps. No dimensions are given and we’re wondering if they’d slip over bulky winter coats or not. Or is it cute enough not to care? You decide.
In “my boyfriend owns the label” news, Jessica Biel is apparently going to design handbags for a limited edition line for William Rast.
They’ll probably sell just from being associated with Justin Timberlake. But it’s an odd move considering Biel isn’t exactly at the height of her hot girl fame, and has never been very fashionable.
Apparently she has already started sketching designs for a limited edition collection. Star magazine says an insider claims “Jessica is casual when it comes to clothes, but she loves bags.”
We showed you where Blair got her Be & D Kan Kan tote back in April. But if you haven’t got the upper east sider’s bank account, Steve Madden has you in mind.
The bag from the fall 08 collection features fringe on both front and back with inverted box pleat details and it’s in stores now if you like! (Wow, a celeb wearing something from the current season!)
Even with these trendy details, the bucket silhouette is one you’ll carry forever and the name is one that will still be meaningful five years from now.
We’ve got more insider info on what the fictional Manhattan elite are carrying on this season of Gossip Girl.
Last week the yellow and white “Sophia” hobo from Bing Bang by Anna Sheffield was carried by Amanda Setton as “Penelope” on the steps during a lunch powwow.
