A favourite of mine out of the capsule is IL2L’s asymmetric leather biker jacket – an updated spin on a timeless style made iconic by heart-throbs such as James Dean and Marlon Brando, IL2L has stripped the biker jacket down to its’ bare bones and added in asymmetric angular detail to create a cleaner, more modern look. It’s a bargain for real leather and is an easy way to toughen up a girlie outfit in seconds. Another piece that caught my eye is their pleather hooded bomber jacket, which will be going on my wishlist come pay-day. It’s definitely a cool way to keep your hair dry when it’s raining (or disguise yourself from people you know when you’re doing the Walk of Shame in the morning).

So when we spotted a picture of Sarah on the set of the new St Trinian’s film (yes there’s another one) wearing these boyish, rocker style boots we had to find out where they were from.

We love the fact they are flat yet funky meaning we can still look good without worrying about how to manage the ice in heels this winter. Team them up with leggings (well you might freeze in Sarah’s shorts) and a structured waistcoat for the ultimate winter look.

While we have next month’s New York Fashion Week to ogle the high-fashion outerwear straight off the runway, for more casual coats Sundance is the place to look.

Lumberjack checks have been in no short supply with both Michelle Trachtenberg and Emmy Rossum choosing cozy styles to keep warm while dashing between SWAG lounges and movie premieres.

We wrapped up $20 gifts under $200 and are on to the $50-$100 price range. The first thing we looked for? A fab coat for gifting to your favorite girl. We like this Gap plaid belted coat, on sale for $94.99, because the plaid can be a little holiday, a little preppy or a little indie depending on the giftee’s style. It’s a little something different for the girl who usually sticks to pea coats.

This Free People Big Bias Plaid Jumper Dress, on sale for $87, has the versatility thing going for it as well. She can wear it with tights or jeans, over a turtleneck or henley, the options are endless. And you know you want to be the one to give her the gift she wears every week all winter.

Know a bag girl? She’ll love this Big Buddha Uptown Bag, $85. It’s faux-leather so safe for giving to your vegan cousin, but looks super soft. It’s got enough room to be an everyday bag, but enough style to go out at night.

Antique silver plated brass and navy and silver beads make this a gift for your most descriminating friend or family member. From Lee Angel, the $69.60 ‘Kate’ silver beaded 7-strand bracelet will be perfect for her to wear on New Year’s.

Game night is cheaper than bar night, and this Fashion Rules! board game, $100, is sure to keep your fashionista friend’s mind off the new shipment of resort wear that will be tempting us post-holiday.

Like many of ShopBop’s Bop Basics, this is a great deal. This brown cashmere turtleneck tunic is currently on sale for $68.10. It’s definitely getting a lot of bang for your gift-giving buck and the present will look like you spent more than you did.

This is another suggestion that comes from a friend – hippie chic Becky! – the suede amoeba obi corset belly warmer, $65. We don’t know what we love more, that it’s called a belly warmer or that it will totally transform that plain dress in her closet into something more.

If you have that woman in your life who can’t let go of the comfort shoe, the fact that this Jadore mary jane is from Naturalizer should appease her. And it’s cute shape and cool color combo will up her style factor, for sure. They’re on sale for $59.99, a great price for a cute little leather shoe these days.

If she likes things a little bit vintagy, or just likes to be cuddly cozy, try this Follow the Leader Cardigan from Anthropologie, $88. If you’re dispensing free style advice with your gift, then suggest it over a retro full skirted dress if she’s the type, or layered over a long-sleeve T with jeans to keep it casual.

Blazers make great gifts because everyone wants more of them and you get a little more wiggle room with fit. This Silence and Noise velvet blazer comes in black or this lovely maroony red for $54.99. The cropped style and two-button closure is flattering on a lot of different figures and there’s plenty of details she’ll keep discovering each time she wears it.
