Our apologies to Elisa, ruffled arm bands apparently all the rage

We take it back, Elisa is a genius. After trashing the weird arm bands accompanying her outfit on last night’s Project Runway, we glimpsed a bit of the the 2008 Agent Provocateur swimwear due out in March. Similar, no?

Did anyone else immediately think this grown woman was wearing swimmies because her Mommy wouldn’t let her in the pool alone without them? Perhaps victims of near-drowning incidents actually will go for this style – low oxygen to the brain and all.

Project Runway Recap: Sweet Designs

Shout out to Hershey’s on Project Runway! The candy company holds a special place in my heart as I used to live in Hershey, PA.

True, the chocolate capital of the U.S. is geographically close but culturally very far from the fashion capital of New York City. But the two collided on last night’s Project Runway.

The Manhattan Hershey’s store looks just like the one at the amusement park in Hershey. The stuffed silver kiss dolls really took me back. I was way jealous of the designers as they walked away with as much free candy as they wanted for “design materials” – you know they ate some of it.

Parson’s 2nd Annual Midseason Preview event

Parson’s (of Project Runway fame), 2nd Annual Midseason Preview took place this past Friday, December 13, 2007. The event showcased the crème de la crème of the school’s graduating class.

There was a clear trend throughout the room. Dresses. Dresses. Dresses. And as we’ve seen from recent Runway episodes (New York Giants Tiki Barber, episode anyone?) dresses are the clear popular design of choice. Mannequins and models were deliciously clad in floor-length-gowns and short-cocktail-dresses with ruffles, rich fabrics and as our ‘07 iPod’s sang, sexy backs.

Runway Recap: Project Runway gets underway – spoilers ahead!

Project Runway is auf and running, and some stereotypical personalities have already been defined – not to mention frontrunners for the prize. This year? To have your collection sold on Bluefly.com (shoppers win either way!), a feature in Elle magazine (Judge Nina Garcia’s home tome), $100,000 to start their own line and a car (in New York? Why?). Guest judge Monique Lhuillier added her expertise to the panel this week, so we’re excited to see who else they get.
