Jennifer Garner wears red at premiere of The Kingdom

By Andrea Thatcher on September 19th, 2007

At the world premiere of The Kingdom, September 17, 2007 at Mann’s Village Westwood in LA, luscious lady in red Jennifer Garner arrived wearing a two-tiered gorgeous dress gathered to the left shoulder, with a gold purse and gold jewelry. Plus, look for Jennifer this fall on opening night, November 1, when she lights up Broadway opposite Kevin Kline in Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac, as Roxane, in a 10-week limited engagement at Richard Rodgers Theater, as mentioned in Broadway.com.

Paula Abdul finally looked in the mirror!

By Elaine LaPersonerie on September 17th, 2007

Paula Abdul has clearly had some shocking fashion upsets. I can’t ever recall a day or time, especially on “American Idol” that some part of her outfit, makeup or hair was not out of whack. I don’t think she has a stylist and one point I was convinced she didn’t have a mirror in her mansion! I mean, how can she with teal eye shadow, over hair-sprayed hair and multiple chain belts? Something was different about her tonight. Maybe something snapped before her trip to the Emmys? Tonight I can actually say that she looked really well dressed and put together. No runny eye makeup, not over accessorized and her white gown was totally classy! I love the peek-a-boo silver push-up bra to boot. A message to Paula if you’re reading–tonight you were hot!

Make room for Katherine Heigl

By Elaine LaPersonerie on September 17th, 2007

Not only did Katherine Heigl take home an Emmy award last night as best supporting actress for her role on Grey’s Anatomy but she gave a heartwarming speech AND looked unbelievable. Her white gown, glamorous hair, red lipstick–everything was amazing and completely in sync. She is truly becoming one of the most exciting to watch both on the screen and the red carpet. Her sense of style is impeccable (or that of her stylist). I also dug up this photo taken a few weeks ago as she arrived at the 4th annual TV Guide after party honoring the Emmys. Again, she looks radiant in this neutral colored beaded gown. I just love her!

Funny and looking foxy: Jane Krakowski and Tina Fey

By Andrea Thatcher on September 16th, 2007

Tina.jpg

Winners for Outstanding Comedy Series (take that, crappy, canned-laugh comedies everywhere!) “30 Rock” stars Jane Krakowski and Tina Fey make us smile as much with their Emmy looks as they do with their savvy wit. The girls look gorgeous and glowing, perhaps because they probably just secured their hilarious series a third season. As one of the best role models for women on television right now, star and executive producer Tina proves that you can look pretty AND wear glasses AND be just vain enough not to wear them to the Emmy’s, and be smart, sexy, and at the top of your industry at the same time.

“Heroes” of fashion: Kristen Bell, Ali Larter, and Hayden Panettiere have the power to impress

By Andrea Thatcher on September 16th, 2007

Heroes.jpg

The women of “Heroes” looked young and fresh at the Emmy Awards tonight, and really added to the excitement for the show’s impending return. New to the cast is Kristen Bell,at left, who hinted to E that her superpower will be something electric while trading witty reparte with another Kristin favorite of ours. Maybe her best-kept secret as underage supersleuth Veronica Mars (may she rest in peace) was hiding her hotness. Hayden Panettiere, far right, chose perhaps the riskiest selection, the golden Marc Bouwer gown might be a little too baby-doll, but at her age she can pull it off. Then, knocking the little girls out of the ring, at center, with her va-va-voom Reem Acra ensemble is Ali Larter. Killer dress, babe, it almost makes up for your killer powers on the show.

Red dress on the red carpet? Yes, please. Heidi Klum, Mary-Louise Parker, and Kathryn Morris

By Andrea Thatcher on September 16th, 2007

Always-stunning Heidi Klum surely succeeded in project: red carpet in a stunning Dior strapless number. It was nice to see a model and fashion-television personality do homage to a big name coutourier amidst some more low key names at the Emmy Awards. Nominee Mary-Louise Parker, of “Weeds”, kept the fashion stakes high with a curve-hugging Dolce and Gabbana gown, which she told E! didn’t leave room for figure fixers like Spanx. Luckily she doesn’t need them. And finally, in an eye popping cherry red, Kathryn Morris, of “Cold Case”, looked hot.

America Ferrera and Kimora Lee are curvy and colorful on the red carpet

By Andrea Thatcher on September 16th, 2007

These are two of my favorite dresses of the evening, and they’re not even displayed in a size zero, imagine that! America Ferrera of “Ugly Betty” shows off a strapless, bright blue number. And Kimora – whose “Life in the Fab Lane” is currently being documented on the Style Network and who is providing fashion commentary on E’s Fashion Police at 8 p.m. Monday, rocks a royal purple ensemble with a cutout back and scarf.

Emmy Arrivals – Kate Walsh, Debra Messing, Amanda Walsh

By Andrea Thatcher on September 16th, 2007

The red carpet is getting full – full of fabulous TV divas in fabulous dresses. Everyone’s gone pretty glam this year, with very few short dresses – one of which worn by Amanda Walsh, above right. Kate Walsh is taking a darker approach to the red dress trend, in Pamela Dennis, above left, and at center Debra Messing is one of the few stars in classic Ralph Lauren black and white. It’s a really nice, classic choice on her – she’s got the red covered in her hair.

59th Primetime Emmy Awards – What’s on the Web?

By Andrea Thatcher on September 16th, 2007

presenters.jpg

Naturally, E! has been showing red carpet arrivals and coverage since about 2 p.m.,with Giuliana Depandi and Ryan Seacrest, plus Carson Kressley and Kimora Lee Simmons doing too sparse fashion commentary. I guess personally I kind of wish they’d cut out Ryan Seacrest and Kimora Lee and just let Giuliana interview people and Carson be hilarious, but you take what you can get.

VMA red carpet looks from Catwalk Queen: Ashlee Simpson, Paris Hilton, Rihanna and more

By Andrea Thatcher on September 11th, 2007

VMA%20awards.jpg

We’ve been so busy at fashion week that it looks like we’d better relinquish the MTV Video Music Awards fashion coverage to our sister site Catwalk Queen since the girls over there are doing such a great job. Britney Spears may have flubbed her comeback (maybe no one would have noticed her extra flab if she actually wore some clothes) but plenty of divas got glamour right.
