Now we’re pleased to see that Mischa Barton is looking healthier after her recent stint in a psychiatric hospital, and she’s most definitely making the most of it, with this sheer dress, minus a bra.
This takes me back to the days; well it must have been at least ten years ago, that the bra under a sheer top was the fashion must have.
I remember trying to sneak out of the house with my mother following me close behind waving a camisole (yes she called it that) and telling me to put it on to hide my modesty.
Now although this fashion has clung on by a sheer thread over the past few years, with designers always introducing at least one bra flashing garment, it seems that it’s getting bigger again.
Only recently were celebrities including Louise Redknapp and Victoria Beckham being snapped left right and centre flashing their bras. But does this look really say sophistication or do we risk making a boob of ourselves? Tell us what you think by voting below.
Today I’m singling out poor wee Audrina from The Hills for this round of Yay or Nay – I say poor wee Audrina because I feel a bit bad bashing on the birthday girl (she apparently turned 24 on Saturday).
While she’s a tried-and-true jeans and rocker tee fan for her day-to-day wardrobe, I often feel she chooses red carpet outfits which can toe the line between cute and dare I say it, tarty. This one-shoulder white dress which she has selected to wear to her birthday celebrations at Beso restaurant in LA over the weekend is actually quite a good example of a good dress maybe not living up to it’s full potential. But at the same time, I also want to cheer her on for her “well, if you’ve got it, flaunt it” attitude – heck, if I looked like her, I’d probably want to wear frocks like that too! What do you think? Vote in our poll below.
Never one to shy away from crazy clothes, Katy Perry turned heads once again this week for her unique fashion sense. The singer was spotted leaving her concert in New York in this technicolour Japanese-print suit from Basso & Brooke’s spring ’09 collection.
“Katy has been requesting it from our PR for months,” Chris Brooke revealed to Grazia. “She wanted to wear it on New Year’s Eve but it was always out being used in shoots. In fact she has worn quite a bit of our stuff.” It was a bold choice for Katy, who recently chopped off her locks into a sleek bob, but was it the right one? You tell us – vote yay or nay in Catwalk Queen‘s reader poll below!
It’s true enough that any shoe seen to vary from traditional shoe shapes can be thought of as weird or too out there. So what about this one? Layered petal details over the heel and ankle, tied with a ribbon, seem a little out there. But who knows, these could be the shoes that define your summer wardrobe.
Drop-crotch shorts. Does anything about the name make them sound like they’d be at all appealing? Not really, but they keep coming around, and from the likes of fashionable designers like Chloe, at left.
So is there something I’m missing? Are drop-crotch shorts on your summer 09 must-have list? Tell us what you think below.
It was one thing when pop stars started wearing short jumpsuits ironically (Katie Perry) and then starlets started wearing them to show off their bodies (Blake Lively) but now the long 70′s jumpsuit is back?
Moschino Cheap & Chic, shown, was just one spring 09 collection that included long, flowy jumpsuits as the new take on the maxidress.
What do you think? Is this an awesome revival or something best left in the time capsule? Yay or Nay?
In the winter, it becomes a little scarier to wear your open-weave or fishnet-type tights with the wind whipping your stems. So, the thing has become to wear these lower-coverage tights over a pair of opaques.
I was grappling with this question myself today (grey open-weave tights over black?) and was told that tights over tights screams “I think I’m sooo hip.” (I decided on maroon opaques, by themselves.)
So what do you think? Have you sported tights over tights to stay fashionable and toasty?
This got us thinking. While we often admire hats on others, mostly models and celebrities, we never wear anything other than the standard winter variety ourselves.
They’re everywhere, people are soliciting knock-offs on Etsy, and we obviously love them. But what do you think? The Rodarte knit tights – would you wear them?
We are big fans of Parker Posey’s comedy stylings, but we don’t think she intended for us to laugh at this style. But how can you not?
The awkward bouson top that would look much better with a strapless neckline and the weird hem line are enough … but the weird furry purse puts this look over the top.
Are we wrong? Do you think Posey pulls it off? Let us know – yay or nay – in the comments.
