Lindsey Wixson falls over three times during the Fashion for Relief catwalk in Cannes

By Andrea Petrou on May 18th, 2011

Many a supermodel has fallen over on the catwalk – Naomi Campbell and Agyness Deyn to name a few.

However we have to spare a thought for poor 17 year old Lindsey Wixson who fell over not once, not twice, but three times during her short walk at the Fashion for Relief catwalk in Cannes earlier on this week.

The model’s falling fate seems to be down to the hem of her huge ballgown, which knocked her off her feet and onto all fours at the show. Not to be put off the fall the model bravely got up and gave the audience a thumbs up before falling again, and then again.

See the video below.

Shinystyle watch: Robert Pattinson performs at a very private gig

By admin on August 10th, 2010

He may be planning to hide away from the media with on and off screen love Kristen Stewart but R-Patz still seems intent on making sweet music.

The Twilight star has been filmed performing a secret gig from the sofa of someone’s living room as part of the Songs From a Room project, which organises performances by up-and-coming artists, and uploads the filmed footage online.

The star opted to sing one of his own songs at the gig, which you can watch below.

R-Patz hasn’t made a secret of the fact that he wants to get into music and has already recorded a few tracks, one which features on the Twilight soundtrack.

And now he’s finished filming he may continue to pursue this career in the future. Watch this space ladies.

Enjoy ladies, and don’t say we don’t ever do anything for you.

Emma Watson’s Harry Potter and red carpet style to celebrate the trailer of the Deathly Hallows

By Andrea Petrou on June 29th, 2010

It’s a fight between Twilight and Harry Potter as the first trailer of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows was released today. And the media has gone crazy. Some have described it as unsuitable for children given the dark content (although those who read the books will know they get darker and that the films reflect this).

And another thing that’s changed as the films have gone on is of course Emma Watson who plays Hermione Granger. The actress has come a long way from her bushy haired days in the first two films and her off screen red carpet style, turning into a style starlet who is a favourite with Chanel and of course Burberry, which she has modelled for.

We take a look at her looks right from Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets right through to sneak previews of the upcoming Deathly Hallows Film. And look out later on this week for an Emma Watson Get the Look Gallery.

ShinyStyle Watch: Madonna’s MDG sunglasses ad campaign

By Andrea Petrou on June 1st, 2010

Madonna’s campaigns with D&G have become well known throughout the fashion industry and if you’re a regular reader you would have seen our previews of the AW2010 ads featuring the star.

A few months ago we bought you the news that Madge had gone a step further with the Italian designer brand and collaborated with it to co-design an eyewear range. And we’ve been lucky enough to get hold of the ad video, which of course she stars in, for you to check out.

The singer poses with, and gets a little bit saucy, with male model, Tyson Ballou, for the MDG logo sunglasses vid shot by Steven Klein. We doubt this is the last we’ll be seeing of the star.

ShinyStyle watch: Rihanna’s new fashion filled Rockstar 101 video

By Andrea Petrou on May 20th, 2010

We’re having a little bit of a video extravaganza over here at ShinyStyle today and who better to continue it with than with Rihanna.

Our second favourite lady to Ms Gaga, has opted for bright pink hair and raunchy, but barely there PVC clothing for her upcoming Rockstar 101 video single. However, she has kept to her signature look with her gorgeous shouldered puff-sleeve jacket.

And there’s also an extra treat for Rihanna fans because she’s also enlisted some help from some famous friends including former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash.

Take a look at the video below for all the fashion fun and let us know what you think.

ShinyStyle Watch: Lady Gaga in Tokyo

By Andrea Petrou on May 20th, 2010

We hated (ok that might be a bit strong) Lady Gaga when she defaced her Hermes bag with Japanese characters on the first day of her Japan tour.

However, we’re over that now, especially since we’ve heard that it was the handiwork of performance artist Terence Koh who has contibuted vocaly to Ms G’s songs.

We know this, because our friends over Grazia have just been watching ‘Gagakoh!’ the film put together by MAC, who sponsored Lady G’s Viva Glam gigs in Tokyo last month. And we’ve also managed to get hold of it for you to see!

Sit back and watch Miss G in her finest hour with very little attire and tell us what you think.

ShinyStyle watch: Karl Lagerfeld’s Remember me trailer

By Andrea Petrou on May 11th, 2010

Chanel model Vanessa Paradis, Diane Kruger and Georgia May Jagger all hit the trendy town of Saint Tropez for a game of boules.

The event was hosted by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, who had a hidden agenda for his fashion fun and that was of course to launch Chanel’s Cruise 2010 collection and his much-hyped short film, Remember Now.

The The 17-minute long film, directed by Lagerfeld stars Elisa Sednaoui, Heidi Mount, French actor Pascal Greggory and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

Will it be worth the hype? We think so.

View the trailer below and let us know what you think.

ShinyStyle watch: Gisele Bündchen for Hope Lingerie

By Andrea Petrou on May 11th, 2010

Gisele has barely been out of the media spotlight since the birth of her little boy Benjamin.

She’s designed a range for Brazilian footwear brand Grendene a range of eco-friendly skin-care products and made an appearance at every A-list bash possible.

And it doesn’t look like she’s about to slow down anytime soon. The model has just finished shooting an ad campaign for Brazilian lingerie brand, Hope, where she has no qualms about showing off her post-baby body.

View the video by a Brazilian TV station, which shows her in her supermodel glory below. It may be in Portuguese, but hey, it’s the shoot that counts right?

ShinyStyle watch: Scarlett Johansson for D&G make-up

By Andrea Petrou on April 30th, 2010

Scarlett make up D&G.jpg
It was only yesterday that we featured Scarlett Johansson in our models versus celebrity face-off after some designers said they would go back to using models over A-List stars in their campaigns.

However, we think perhaps we were a little bit too hasty to agree because Scarlett looks amazing in this latest campaign for Dolce & Gabbana Makeup campaign.

The star looks every inch the 50s chick with her Marilyn Monroe curls and we love the blue metallic shade she wears on her eyes. And she’s proved she’s most definitely a muse for the brand. D&G have named a colour in their Roses Lipstick collection Scarlett.

She said of the campaign: “I try to be inspired by old Hollywood glamour, whether that’s Rita Hayworth or Lauren Bacall.”
Watch behind the scenes footage and see what else Scarlett has to say about the campaign by viewing the video below.

ShinyStyle watch: Second official Sex and The City 2 trailer

By Andrea Petrou on April 9th, 2010

A few months ago we bought you the first official trailer for the Sex and the City 2 film, and we know all you true Sex and The City fans out there got goose-bumps.

Well brace yourselves ladies because we’ve got ANOTHER trailer for you.

And this one’s just as good, if dare we say, better than the first, giving us a real insight into what we can expect from the film. And we’re not just talking about the stunning range of clothes.

Judging by what we’ve just seen, it seems Samantha will be giving us plenty of those man hungry moments, while Charlotte continues to play (not so happy?) families.

We won’t give too much more away as we’ll let you watch it for yourselves below.

Let us know if you’re as excited as we are.

ShinyStyle watch: Kelly Brook for Ultimo video

By Andrea Petrou on April 8th, 2010

We’ve definitely got a lingerie theme going today, so we thought we’d carry on the trend with this stunning Ultimo video staring Kelly Brook.

The model, who was announced as the face of the brand earlier this month, gets posing in little lace undies for this 32-second video, and we have to admit, she’s looking good.

Michelle Mone, brand creator of Ultimo said: “The advert is completely in harmony with Ultimo – it’s sexy, edgy and feminine.

“We wanted to add an element of virality to our Spring campaign, and this film was a surefire way of doing that. It’s already proving incredibly popular online,’with hundreds of people clambering to see Kelly at her sexiest.”

Let us know what you think of Kelly’s curves by watching the video and leaving your comments below.

Shinystyle watch: Coca Rocha gets caught in the (Sister) act

By Andrea Petrou on April 7th, 2010

We love Coco Rocha but sometimes enough is enough.

The recently engaged model has been caught in the (Sister) Act dancing and miming along to Whoopi Goldberg’s ‘I Will Follow Him.’

Now we know we’ve all done it, either at home or at the pub karaoke, but the difference is we aren’t famous and haven’t put our drunken antics online.

We know it was a tribute to your soon-to-be-hubby, James Conran and we’re sure he appreciated it, but Coco we’re cringing for you.

View the video below and tell us if you agree.
