invisible hit counter

This weekend stars galore will be hitting the red carpet for one of the most talked about events for the year. The Oscars.

However although the party doesn't officially begin until Sunday, the great hype surrounding it is already underway, and in true Hollywood style pre-parties are springing up everywhere.

One such party is the 7th annual Global Green pre-Oscar party, which was held at Avalon
Los Angeles, last night. And the rain didn't stop stars from attending.

One celeb braving the weather was Jessica Alba who turned up alongside husband Cash Warren hiding under a huge umbrella.

However it wasn't that which caught our eye. It was her gorgeous pink chiffon short V front frock complete with capped sleeves and a black sash and strappy sandals. We think the Sin City star looks stunning and has got the smart/casual look spot on for a pre-party.

We've therefore put together a gallery of similar frocks and shoes to help you get that perfect party look.

Lady G Jonathan Ross.jpg

It doesn't look like Lady Gaga's fashion fun is going to end anytime soon, in fact it seems to be getting more outrageous the more time she spends in the UK.

Not content with lobsters on her head the singer turned up to film the Friday Night with Jonathan Ross show (due to be aired this Friday) with an old school Telephone hat on her head.

We know she may be trying to promote her "Telephone" single but maybe the singer went a little bit too far this time, especially when you consider her goldfish bowl shoes, although kudos to the singer for being able to walk in these.

Although we can't be sure rumour has it that Miss G also continued her phone fetish by dancing around a telephone booth.

We'll be cancelling our nights out or setting our boxes to record to catch this episode. And remember, next time you want to do something 'hip' there's never a telephone box too far away. Get that iPod and those dancing shoes out and head to your nearest calling point.

Ashley.JPG

We love it when we see celebrities in affordable fashions, especially when they are cute and kooky.

So imagine our delight when we spotted Twighlight star Ashley Greene jogging in LA sporting this adorable 'Don't hate me because I'm beautiful' Barbie' tee at a barganious £24.99 from Truffle Shuffle.

Although retro t-shirts have been around for a while now it doesn't seem our obsession with them is going to end anytime soon, especially when you consider nearly every celebrity, from Katie Price to Pixie Lott have been spotted at some time or other over the past few months wearing them.

And there's just about any old school cartoon to be found on these too. We love Barbie, but we also love the My Little Pony styles, Micky Mouse, and of course Alice in Wonderland print tees, which are going to be huge this season.

Team up with jeans and heels for an understated look or wear down the gym a la Ashley.

The Laurence Olivier Awards - Nominees Luncheon Party

Keira Knightley gave a nod to womenkind yesterday afternoon by wearing a blouse covered with naked woman.

The actress chose the blouse to wear at the Laurence Olivier Awards Nominee luncheon and teamed it up with a kooky black skirt.

And if you think you've seen the exact outfir somewhere else before then you're right. It's look 22 from the Miu Miu SS2010 collection, which was shown on the catwalk last year.

If we're honest we quite like the outfit and we'd probably follow Kiera's Miu Miu footsteps. But would you? Leave your comments below and let us know.

Nicola Roberts hits back at "skinny" claims

Nicola.jpg

Nicola Roberts has hit back at people who claim she's been starving herself and is too thin.

The Girls Aloud singer said her size 6 frame was natural and not because of her diet.

She told Closer magazine: "Everyone keeps talking about my weight, which I find so ridiculous.

"I'm a size 6 and I'm not ashamed of that - I have a naturally small frame and it's the way I've always been. I've not been starving myself or exercising every day."

We're not sure what to beleive when it comes to stars claiming their tiny figures, afterall Nicole Ritchie claimed for years she was "healthy". However a source close to the group claimed "all the girls do eat." We'll just have to wait and see.

It was a case of who could look the most disheveled at last night's MAC Viva Glam product launch to benefit the MAC AIDS Fund in London.

Lady Gaga, who fronted the campaign alongside Cyndi Lauper, as always stole the style show, appearing in a black lace leotard with sharp shoulders. She finished the look with lace stockings, which she wore over the bodysuit as well as a mamouth PVC style hat in the shape of a flower and her trademark eye mask.

However, after her appearance it seems the style took a turn for the worse. Cyndi Lauper turned up with a perm more fit for the 80s, making her look more like a poodle than a celebrity, while usually flawless Agyness Deyn looked more John Lenon than model with her blue sunglasses.

Sharon Osbourne however, hasn't really given us any cause for comment as she seemingly left her coat on all night.

Gallery: Lady Gaga's London style

Comments (0)

Lady Gaga has been in London over the past few weeks, touring the country as part of her Monster Ball tour and many of her onstage outfits, designed by Armani are as wacky as we expected them to be.

However, it doesn't seem the Lady of fantastic fashion ever tones down her everyday outfits and it seems her funky fashion sense has become bolder since she's been staying in the UK.

She's been spotted in a range of outfits including a silver all in one with a lobster hat, as well as a red "robot style" bodysuit. But do you think she carries them off and would you adopt her style for a night out? View the gallery and let us know by leaving your comments in the box below.

Sarah Jessica Parker, New Creative Director Stops By Halston Show

Sarah Jessica Parker looked every inch the fashionista we've all grown to know and love her as she stopped by the New York Halston fashion show yesterday.

The SATC actress and newly appointed creative director of Halston went to show her support for the brand dressed in a shiny metallic Halston 80s style gold satin blouse with a modern waisted belt twist.

She teamed this up with black satin ankle trousers and cute black and beige sandals.

And judging how well she wears the brand's blouse its no surprise she's also been the face of Halston since September.

Rihanna Promotes Rated R In Seoul

She may have made a fashion faux pas arriving at Seoul airport in a mismatch of military, 80s denim and a horrible sideways hat, but Rihanna has quickly pulled herself back onto out fashion radars.

The singer who is over in South Korea promoting her new Rated R album, stuck to the 80s trend.

However she swapped her previous light denim disaster for a blazer sporting her trademark big shoulder style.

This was teamed up with a gorgeous pink tulle skirt with an on-trend gathered bow statement piece.

Rihanna Arrives Seoul

Rihanna's style is one we like to talk about alot here at ShinyStyle. Sometimes she's kooky, sometimes she shows us how fashion should be worn and other times she makes us feel better showing us that even the best people can make mistakes.

However we're not too sure what to make of the outfit she wore when she arrived at Gimpo International Airport in Seoul, South Korea, where she is promoting her album 'Rated R'.

Dressed in a military style coat over a denim waistcaot, the singer looks as though she's tried to combine too many styles into one outfit. And while we understand the need to cover up hair after a long flight, we really can't condone the military style baseball cap, which worn at a side angle looks as though it should be on the set of the Fresh Price of Bel-Air.

Valentines Day is slowly upon us and that only means one thing. The shops are full of cards, mini presents and teddies and cinemas full of slushy romantic films that you'll be dragging you other half to.

Hot on the film list is the aptly named Valentines Day, which hits UK cinemas this week and is said to be the next Love Actually. And last night at the US premier loved up celebrities turned up on the red carpet in their droves to view it.

First up were Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, who looked every inch the Hollywood starlet in a very 50s white strapless knee length frock.

She was followed by stars of the film Jessica Alba, who looked stunning with her newly cropped hair and in a peacock green short tunic style dress and Anne Hathaway who looked sexy in a royal blue feathered strapless number.

However we think both ladies were beaten by their co-star Jessica Biel, who opted to go for a bright pink one shoulder flamenco style frock.

London Evening Standard British Film Awards 2010 - Arrivals

While Eva Green donned a safe black frock for the London Evening Standard British Film Awards 2010, Jamie Winstone decided to be daring and it wasn't just her frock.

The actress stepped onto the red carpet in an on-trend red strapless frock, which we think looks very similar to the pink one worn by Sarah Jessica Parker at the Did you hear about the Morgans? premier last year.

She teamed this up with a matching clutch bag, shoes and lips.

However, far more daring than her racy red dress was her fur jacket. We hope we're wrong about it being real, but if it's not it does a very good job of looking it.

Dannii.jpg

Last month we reported on rumours that Dannii Minogue was going to be the new face of Marks and Spencer and guess what? She is.

The pregnant X Factor judge and singer will be appearing in the new spring campaign alongside current Marks and Spencer models Mylene Klass and Twiggy. She will also be joined by VV Brown, Brazilian supermodel Ana Beatriz Barros, and Lisa Snowdon.

However, it seems Dannii will not be following in Mylene's footsteps and showing off her baby bump during the campaign, as the ads are being shot right now and are due to be revealed next month. We can't wait.

Nicola Roberts, looking demure in a simple off white dress and cinched skinny belt, heads to dinner at Nobu with her boyfriend

Nicola Roberts steps out looking demure in a simple off white dress and a cinched skinny belt, as she heads to dinner at Nobu with her boyfriend.

The Girl's Aloud singer, who has been working with politicians and campaigning for a UK sunbed ban for under 18's and whose TV documentary, highlighting the dangers of excessive tanning, was aired last night, looked stunning in the frock that matched her naturally pale skin tone perfectly.

Team up an off white dress with a pastel coloured belt, along with bright lipstick to add a touch of colour and style to an otherwise simple look.

Beyonce Nintendo.jpg

We've fallen in love with Nintendo's Style Savvy game for the DS and DSI, which is our ultimate definition of fashion fun.

Afterall, what fashionista wouldn't love being able to run her own virtual clothing boutique, style customers and participate in catwalk shows?

And now it seems this game is about to get better.

Beyonce has decided to lend a hand and offer gamers the chance to style their virtual customers in the same clothes she wears.

She's giving Nintendo five designs from the real-life Deréon clothing line, created by herself and her mum, Tina Knowles.

Beyonce said: "Style Savvy is all about creativity and fashion, both of which are really important to me."

Although exact download dates have not yet been released, Nintendo has said it expects the designs to be available in the very near future. We can't wait, after all what could be better than a Beyonce fashion clone?
