Has Marc Jacobs found his next muse?

The latest whispers are that Anne Hathaway will replace Victoria Beckham as the face of Marc Jacobs.

"Marc and Anne have forged a fast but very intense friendship and they're going to start doing public appearances together soon," a friend of the actress has revealed. "Anne hasn't signed up to do any advertising yet but, by dressing her, Marc can infuse his line with a fresh but famous face and Anne can revamp her image. If it works well, Anne would be happy to model for some of Marc's campaigns."

In addition to a possible lucrative deal with the label, the 26-year-old has also recently agreed to play Judy Garland in a new movie. 2009 looks set to be a bumper year for Anne.

From Catwalk Queen...

Obama-watch continues with a special meeting with the Queen. Michelle Obama's fashion tour of the British capital culminated with a royal visit to Buckingham Palace. To mark the occasion, the First Lady chose a black and white dress, with tulle underlay, by Isabel Toledo, black cardigan and pearls. Walking into the Palace, she chose a black A-line dress coat designed by Jason Wu, but decided against wearing a hat. Earlier in the day, she stopped by 10 Downing Street to visit Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife, Sarah, in a J.Crew ensemble.

@susiebubble called our attention to the April Dazed and Confused cover over on Twitter (follow me @ShinyAndrea). Lakshmi was photographed by Josh Olins in Dolce & Gabbana styled by Nicola Formichetti. The whole shoot is gorgeous and can be seen over on StyleBubble.

Marc Jacobs bangles.jpg

If you're looking to update your wardrobe for spring with some fun new accessories, I think these Marc Jacobs Collection resin bangles are a great way to go. Fun colors and designs make them a little different and definitely Marc.

To really see how cool they are don't rely on the image at right, but click on the link above and use the zoom feature to check out the sparkly, spacy inlay. I have a feeling these are one of those things you'll stare at all day when you wear them.

For around $350, they are a pretty penny, but I know I'd get a lot of use out of them.

Runway to Reality: Balmain's leather military jacket

Balmain Leather Jacket.jpg

Balmain's leather military jacket, $7,045, is hot. Hot in a way that could be styled vintage victorian or New York nightspot. Which is, of course, the very best kind of hot. Since it's sold out on Net-a-Porter, I like to imagine this designer treasure is going to be worn and loved. This is the type of piece that people who can afford to are splurging on amidst the recession.

Hip-hop, ice princess and Arabian nights influences merge on the Missoni runway, as you can see in the video above. Kelly from TheBagLady says this is easily her favorite collection for Fall 09 so far. Check out her Milan accessories report, here.

CatwalkQueen has a gallery of Burberry Prorsum Fall 09 runway looks here, but don't be surprised if you recognize a few pieces! Apparently the Fall 09 collection borrows a few things from Pre-Fall.

London Fashion Week: House of Holland Fall 09 Gallery

CatwalkQueen's Kimberley Foster writes...

Forget those slogan T-shirts which made him a household name, Henry Holland has moved on. The designer behind the House of Holland label is all about Pantone colour cards these days, showing his most grown-up collection to date. The show opened with a square-cut box jacket featuring colour blocks and horizontal stripes. This theme continued into dresses, skinny trousers, tights and knitted jumpers. There was the odd hairy coat, sequinned panelling, and chunky chain-link accessories designed by Kate Hillier. Even with pal Agyness Deyn hitting the catwalk again for him and whipping up a crowd frenzy, I can't deny that this collection left me dizzy. Bold? Yes. Brilliant? No.

White the stand-out trend on the Oscars red carpet

Comments (0)

You'd have to have a black and white TV not to notice how many white dresses there were on the red carpet for the 2009 Academy Awards. Of course you can check out all our Oscars coverage here, but we've also got a new gallery of all the white dresses. From the positively bridal Penelope Cruz in vintage Balmain to my personal favorite Marisa Tomei in Versace Atelier, you could see a lot of these dresses walking down the aisle. Plus, pre-spring is the perfect time for a white trend to emerge, don't you think? We know you can't wait to get all tan and whip out some white. So check out our gallery, below, and tell us which Oscar dress you'd wear in your wedding in this poll on our bridal blog.

Catwalk Queen's Gemma Cartwright writes...

Showing to a crowd that included Kanye West, Nicola Roberts, David Walliams, Siouxie Sioux, Erin O' Connor, Leah Wood, Lily Cole and Jamie Winstone (on the second row) Vivienne Westwood Red Label needed to deliver. And what the collection lacked in imaginative new ideas it made up for in paparazzi-friendly showmanship with the likes of Jo Wood, Daisy Lowe and Alice Dellal modelling the collection. Take a look below. [all images Lia Toby / WENN.com]

New York Fashion Week: Zac Posen Fall 09 Gallery

Zac Posen's Fall 2009 fashion show was one of the most-talked about of fashion week. It wasn't just the beautiful couture-level clothes. And it wasn't only the amazing model watching, yes, Coco Rocha, Lily Donaldson, Alek Wek and Sasha Pivovarova were all there. (I'll admit to squeeling several times.) But it was the show itself with 5 baby grand pianos on the runway played by the 5 Browns, a brother/sister piano troupe, and the glitz and glamour Posen - and we - love.

New York Fashion Week: Vivienne Tam Fall 2009 collection

Vivienne Tam 2.jpg

Vivienne Tam chose one of my favorite presentation styles to showcase her Fall 2009 collection. Models were perched on blocks where viewers could approach each piece to fully appreciate all the details and take everything in. It was especially nice since there was so much concept behind the collection. It was inspired by the concept of nothingness and the Asian philosophy of creating an empty space that gives way to something new and unexpected.

The Carmen Marc Valvo cocktail party Wednesday night was fabulous, of course, but the clothes were still the stars studded around the room on mannequins both live and artificial. It was all red-carpet-worthy eveningwear - maybe we'll see a piece on Sunday? A video presentation was playing throughout the evening, which you can watch here. Plus check out our gallery below, including a snap of Carmen!

Badgley Mischka's Fall 2009 collection embraced more of the traditional darker colors for fall and winter with blacks, bordeaux and ultramarine with some bright crimson and teal pieces thrown in for good measure. Eveningwear was featured prominently and accented with some fabulous accessories. We were backstage before the show getting an up-close look at the shoes and jewelry that really helped Badgley Mischka's designs sparkle.

New York Fashion Week: Chris Benz Fall 09 Gallery

Acid green, electric blue and red - Chris Benz clearly got the '80s memo as well. But, it really seems like designers have hit a stride with the '80s inspirations and found a way to make new modern looks with that era in mind. After last season's pretty, flowy pastels it's as if Benz turned up the volume and definitely tightened up the tailoring. I loved the fitted looks and flattering retro silhouettes pulling from many decades in printed silk charmeuse, micro-paillettes and wool. One thing's for sure, fall is going to be anything but boring.
