It seems not everyone on the fashion scene is as keen as we thought on Lady Gaga, namely Antonio Berardi, who was offered the chance to work with her but turned it down.

The designer best known for his hell-less latex shoes , which are adored by Victoria Beckham, and who has a range of celebrity clients including Megan Fox, Amber Rose, Eva Mendes and Gwyneth Paltrow, told The Herald Sun in Australia: "I was approached to design a clothing range with Lady Gaga but I knocked it back because I wasn't interested in someone whose music is meaningless,"

He said this was because: "Her music is meaningless now so what impact will it have in 20 years?" he said in Sydney.

Oh dear, we hope the comments don't set off a star studded fight.

Megan pink.jpgMany designers would be pleased just to have a well known actress grace their advertising campaigns but Armani has gone that extra step when it comes to its model Megan Fox.

The designer has created an exact replica of the star's Giorgio Armani Prive pink dress, which she wore to the Russian premier of Transformers 2 just in time for the Christmas season.

We also think the strapless number resembles the frock Sarah Jessica Parker wore to the Did You Hear about The Morgans? Premier.

We understand why the brand would want to go all out for the actress who replaced Victoria Beckaham as the face of Armani Lingerie for 2010 a few months ago and we think she'll make an amazing model for the brand.

However, we wish the designer would try and please us too by making his designs that little bit more affordable. £600 is just a little bit too much by our shopping standards unless of course it miraculously turns us into a Megan Fox look-a-like.

British Fashion Awards - Red Carpet Arrivals

Celebrities, models and fashion designers were out in their droves last night to celebrate the 25th annual British Fashion Awards.

The event, which we we've been excited about since we reported the shortlist a few weeks ago, took place in London's Royal Courts of Justice and this year played host to more British designers than ever before.

As we would expect, it was also attended by Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Claudia Schiffer as well as one of our favourite designers Matthew Williamson.

British Fashion Awards - Press Room

Christopher Bailey the Collection of the Year award, while model de jour Georgia Jagger scooped Model of the Year and there was also good news for Kate Moss who won the public voted London 25 Award.

There was also happiness from Grace Coddington who was given the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator and Katie Hillier was crowned Accessory Designer of the Year.

We also think a huge congratulations are in order for Burberry, which won Designer Brand of the year and Christopher Bailey who was awarded British Designer of the Year.

During his acceptance speech, Bailey also revealed that Burberry would display creations during February's London Fashion Week: "London is our home and our global headquarters, and we are thrilled to be showing again in this, our magnificent and creative city," he said.

Rumours about Lily Allen leaving the music industry have been lingering around the gossip scene like the smell of milk left out of the fridge for too long.

Despite Lily not making them official, she has furthered fuelled the rumour fire by making her name for herself in fashion, most notably her partnership with Chanel.

So we're hardly surprised that she appears in Russian Elle Magazine next month styled top to toe in the designer's creations. The shoot was also shot by none other than Lily's new BBF Karl Lagerfeld.

Again, we think she looks stunning in natural make-up and a range of outfits including a striped top, ruffle shirt and tight blazer.

Shortlist for British Fashion Awards announced

_42112570_catwalk2416.jpgIt's that time of year again, Christmas, icy weather and most importantly the lead up to the British Fashion Awards.

And the shortlist for awards, which will be held on 9 December, has just been announced.
This year there are 11 categories, including Designer of the Year, Menswear Designer of the Year and the Swarovski Emerging Talent Awards for ready-to-wear and accessories.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Daisy Lowe and the new face of Rimmel, Georgia May Jagger will also be fighting it out of the model of the year category.

We really wouldn't want to be in the judges shoes at the moment and think they'll have a hard task choosing amongst the great talents out there.

This includes Burberry and Pringle for the designer brand of the year, Christopher Kane, Jonathan Saunders or Erdem for collection of the year and Mark Fast, and Meadham Kirchhoff and Peter Pilotto for emerging womenswear labels.

Caroline Rush, joint CEO of the British Fashion Council, said: "This year's nominee list highlights the extraordinary breadth of British design talent."

We can't wait to see who comes out tops, but runners up, don't worry, we'll still be buying your fashions.

natalia_vodianova.jpgYesterday we told you about Prada's way of standing out from the designer crowd by using a model instead of a celebrity and it seems other fashion houses have the same idea.

Paris designer YSL has today officially announced that Russian model Natalia Vodianova will be replacing (older) supermodel Christy Turlinton for its 2010 Spring range.

And that's not all. It seems Natalie is also destined to deal with Stella McCartney and could front the stylish British brand after she made her only catwalk appearance in September for the label.

With so many high profile jobs under her tiny belt this is one model to keep an eye on.

Luella ceases trading

Luella.jpgWe've been sitting here in shock after hearing that investors Club 21 have walked away from it's financing agreement with Luella, causing the designer brand to cease trading.

According to WWD, in a joint statement, VSQ Limited, the subsidiary of Club 21, said it had reluctantly "taken the decision not to invest further in its relationship with Luella Bartley Limited."

There's been a string of bad luck for the fashion designer, who has a large fan base including Alexa Chung, Kate Moss and Lily Allen. Last month Luella's key ready-to-wear producer was hit by the recession and the factory closed unexpectedly.

However, it's not a final curtain call just yet, Luella has hinted that there may be knight in shining fashion armour. "We have a number of options open to us, and are considering these over the coming months," she said. We'll be waiting.

Zandra.jpgSeventies and hippy style chicks will be as excited as we are to hear that legendary fashion designer Zandra Rhodes has launched another collection for Marks and Spencer.

The seventies style creator has returned to the highstreet store for another season after the success of her first collection and we predict this range, which includes batwing tops, revamped 21st century jumpsuits and velvet and suede fabrics, will do just as well.

We'll see you at the checkouts.

Lady GaGa poses in bizarre Hello Kitty outfits

lADY g2.jpgAs you might already know, we're huge fans of Hello Kitty here at ShinyStyle, but there are just some lines that shouldn't be crossed when it comes to our favourite furball. We're not sure if you'll agree but we think Lady GaGa may have just crossed it.

The popstar, known for her funky and off the wall style, teamed up with photographers Markus Klinko and Indrani and donned a range of unique outfits to celebrate Hello Kitty's 35th Birthday

Of the many, this included a jewel-embellished shell bra and fishnet tights with a Hello Pussy purse slung around her waist. She can also be seen with a giant red Hello Kitty bow against a gold backdrop. Hmm, don't swap your career in singing for one in styling Lady GaGa.

louis-vuitton-logo.jpgIf you've been feeling left out at not having any invites for the numerous catwalk shows in Fashion week then get onto Facebook.

Louis Vuitton has just announced that its women's Spring/Summer 2010 Ready to Wear Show will appear Live on the social networking site, giving you a chance to be one of the first to have a look at the latest collection.

The company will broadcast the show on October 7, 2009 at 2:30pm Paris time (that's 1.30 GMT).

Current and future fans of the Louis Vuitton Facebook page will be able to watch the latest Marc Jacobs creations for Louis Vuitton streamed live from Paris Fashion Week.

You will also be given the opportunity to comment on the event live from your Facebook status. However, it won't hang around long; following the show the video will only be available for 24, much like Louis Vuitton's handbags really.

Tom Ford may launch women's range

tom-ford-1253737712.jpgI've always liked Tom Ford's designs even before he became a really well known designer for Gucci.

And I still credit him for bringing back the Halston-style velvet hipsters, skinny satin shirts and car-finish metallic patent boots, which he designed when he was at the fashion house.

I'm sure many of you were as gutted as me when he left to begin his own line, especially as so far he hasn't been designing any women's clothing.

Yes accessories and fragrances are all very nice but what we really want is a little bit of clothing injected with Mr Ford's creative mind. Well we may have got our wish because it's been rumoured that the designer is now looking for investment so he can expand into womenswear.

Now if I would be happy to help here but I don't think a couple of fivers and a stack of coppers from my money box would quite be enough for what he is looking for. Let's just hope someone sees his talent and gives him the investment he deserves so he can design the clothes we want.

We'll keep you updated of any changes.

Lily.jpgPicture the scene, you're all snuggled up in your casual tracksuit bottoms with no make up on and a photographer turns up at your door for an impromptu photoshoot.

Now I'm not sure about you but I'd panic and find the nearest window to escape from.

Thankfully not all of us are so vain because when Gio Goi owner Anthony Donelly turned up at Lily Allen's fathers home the duo set up an impromptu photoshoot.

Using the house and surrounding countryside as locations for the shoot Lily posed in a range of clothing. We're sure you'll agree the last minute notice has created an amazingly relaxed range of photos and some also reportedly featured Lily clutching a pint in her hand.

Full circle.JPGI'm not sure about you, but I think Angelina's looking amazing at the moment, and if it wasn't for my major crush on Brad, then I'd say he should stick with her, but well, all's fair in love and war and all that.

So imagine my delight when I got a look at Full Circle's new Autumn/Winter range, which features a dress, not so different from the one from the Michael Kors dress Angelina wore to accompany Mr Pitt to the Inglorious Basterds premier. Oh and it's also quite similar to the one his ex Jennifer wore on the front cover of Vogue.

Now we said similar, not the same, as this stunning dress has sleeves as opposed to the strapless look both women went for.

However, the material and straight cut style are a pretty close match.

As well as the Brad stealing dress the company has also teamed up with accessory Lou Dalton.

The designer, who previously worked with Tommy Hilfiger and Ted Baker has created a range of bags in moc croc, faux fur patchwork and leathers to bring a retro, vintage fashion feel to the collection.

Now I'm not sure about you, but I'm buying that dress quickly and heading, to LA.

Online boutique that has us wanting more

Comments (0)

sugarhill057.jpgWith internet fashion becoming so popular, it seems online fashion stores are launching faster than you can say Chanel.

However, we've completely fallen in love with this new internet shopping heaven, that popped onto web yesterday.

The Stellar Boutique is bursting full of one-off gems and includes, vintage, retro and high fashion pieces and includes designs from up and coming creators including Sugarhill Boutique (we love the butterfly dress, pictured) Lia Lee and Dahlia.

But it's not just clothes, oh no, this site offers everything apart from the kitchen sink. Get your hands on home ware, accessories such as sun glasses, and menswear (perfect if you need to sweeten him up when he sees all your purchases.)

Heidi bag.JPGNow we love handbags, pink, silver, black you name it we want it. So imagine our delight when we heard about this, which we (grudgingly) thought we'd share with you.

If you haven't been lucky enough to get your hands on one of the exclusive eel skin bags and purses from London designer Heidi Mottram - now is your chance.

Heidi will be selling her end of lines, excess stock, seconds and samples at huge discounts at Sunday UpMarket in the Old Truman Brewery every Sunday in September.

Now we plan to be camping out from the night before but for everyone else the sale starts at ten , and yes we are trained in the art of handbag sale fighting (think the Friends episode with the discount bridal wear.)
