Nicole Kidman poses for Vogue in Alexander McQueen

Confirming that she is definitely on the cards for an upcoming Vogue issue was Nicole Kidman this week. The Aussie actress, who appears to have returned to her ginger roots, was captured on location at Malibu beach in L.A. for a period-inspired photo-shoot. Wearing a stunning off-the-shoulder mulberry-coloured Alexander McQueen gown, Nicole worked the dramatic puff fishtail hem like a pro. Clearly her previous costume work from Australia and Moulin Rouge helped her greatly. The cream parasol also lends the right touch - after all, no-one likes a sunburnt lobster.

Happy Valentines Day! Shiny sends it's LOVE. Hearting the photography in Katie Grand's new magazine, like Adriana Lima looking less Victoria's Secret and more high fashion. Nice.

Beth Ditto bares all for LOVE

Some people are a bit disappointed that Katie Grand's LOVE magazine sort of ripped off Beth Ditto's 2007 NME cover, but our Kim Foster is in love with LOVE's debut cover. Here's what she had to say...

OMFG! So it's no secret that Beth Ditto was hand-picked by Katie Grand to be LOVE magazine's first cover girl, but we had no idea that she was going to bare all for the job. The sensational Gossip singer has stripped off a second time to launch the debut issue of LOVE (the last time was for NME in 2007). Advanced copies are set to hit Dover Street Market and Harvey Nichols from Saturday now instead of today because apparently they are still being printed. Although if you're in the area, it's worth a look.

What do you think of Beth's ballsy cover? Comment below.

More reasons to love Chuck Bass... er, Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick

Catwalk Queen's Gemma Cartwright writes...

Those Gossip Girl kids definitely gets around, don't they? It seems like not a glossy goes to print without some mention of the cast of fashion's favorite show.

In the March edition of Harper's Bazaar (yep, them again), Ed Westwick gets seduced by supermodel / photographer / all-round fashionista Helena Christensen in a shoot by snapper Terry Richardson.

The shoot features the couple looking very lustful in clothes by the likes of Max Mara, Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana and Burberry. Keep reading for more pics...

Here it is folks! The much-anticipated March '09 Vogue cover starring Michelle Obama. It seems it was accidentally posted on WSJ's fashion blog ahead of its launch tomorrow, and quickly picked up by Jezebel for our viewing pleasure (thanks peeps!). Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, there has been plenty of chatter already on forums about the portrait and of course the choice of outfit - a sleeveless fuchsia dress by Jason Wu.

One to watch in footwear: Bionda Castana

If, like many, you covet almost anything Agyness Deyn wears, you'll love catching this glimpse of the model from British Vogue. We've got the deets on her fabulous footwear.

Diane von Furstenberg on the cover of Purple Fashion Magazine

DVF on Purple.jpg

Gosh, does Diane von Furstenberg look stunning in blonde or what?

Grande dame Diane really has the high-low media coverage covered - what with the prominence of her design headquarters on MTV's The City (that would be the low) and now the Purple Fashion Magazine cover.

I've got to say, Purple has some of my favorite covers in the industry. What do you think?

Sarah Jessica Parker Bazaar.jpg

Sarah Jessica Parker graces the cover of the upcoming March fashion issue of Harper's Bazaar in one of my favorite new trends - zippers.

Asked how alterego Carrie Bradshaw would handle today's recessionary times, Parker said "She would probably end up in a hospital. Perhaps she would go back to her '80s stuff and start bringing it out again."

We wonder if it's as good as Parker's own '80s stuff. "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" anyone?

The March issue of Harper's Bazaar hits newstands February 17. See more here.

Domino magazine.jpg

Time to say goodbye to another great magazine. Domino is shutting down, with no word on whether any part of the Web site or blog will continue.

The title follows Home, House & Garden, Cottage Living, and Country Home as a victim of the recession.

If this means the current issue is the last one, or if more are yet to come we're not sure. In the meantime, check out this gallery of closets, a feature on White House style under the Obamas and their editor's blogs.

Luella magazine rumors a bust

Looks like the Luella magazine story was just that - a story.

A front cover starring Jourdan Dunn was even in circulation, but has been confirmed by Handbag.com as a fake.

"The rumours are simply not true. There is no Luella magazine," a Luella rep said. "We keep telling people that it's not happening but they run with the story anyway. It just goes to show that people will believe anything that they read."

Michelle Obama Vogue cover.jpg

While Vogue is still toeing the line saying "We're very interested in working with the First Lady," Michelle Obama's hairstylist Johnny Wright may have spilled some beans by listing styling the First Lady's hair for "her upcoming appearance on the cover of Vogue magazine" as one of his accomplishments for a reality TV show he's working on.

Plus, to further encourage the gossip, regular Vogue celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz was seen in Washington last week leaving the Hay-Adams Hotel, where the Obamas were staying. Insiders expect a high-low fashion mix for the photo shoot.

The March spring fashion issue would be a likely issue for Obama's appearance, since it is one of the thickest of the year.

The September Issue Vogue documentary.jpg

R. J. Cutler's new documentary The September Issue debuted at Sundance this past weekend to several packed houses, but when will the general public get to view it?

Well, if you go to Netflix you can add the film to your "saved" queue though no date is listed as to when it will be available. Another hope? A&E, the original destination for the film, says they still plan to air the film sometime this year.

While Anna Wintour didn't make the Friday night premiere, she and daughter Bee Schaffer did attend a public viewing on Saturday, and the premiere of "Rudo y Cursi."

"[I'm] channeling mountain casual. It is actually my first time wearing jeans to work," Wintour said. She wore a leather Michael Kors jacket with a fox collar, an Oscar de la Renta turtleneck, J Brand jeans and Manolo Blahnik boots.

luellabartley_magazine.jpg

While many of us eagerly await ex-Pop magazine editor Katie Grand's new venture, LOVE (and a Beth Ditto cover for the Feb. 19 launch?), we have news of a Brit defect.

Rumor has it that designer Luella Bartley could be branching out into the publishing biz.

Fashionista claims that the British designer is currently recruiting stylish folks in New York for editorial shoots, to be photographed inside posh Manhattan abodes. A Teen Vogue ex-staff member is believed to be styling the shoots and that is all the dirt that has been dug up so far.

So, what to do we think? Would we like to have Luella oversee her own magazine? Um... yes please. Peaches who?

[Via Catwalk Queen]

What we wouldn't give to be in the audience at Sundance among the first to see R.J. Cutler's film chronicling the making of the September issue of Vogue magazine. Anna Wintour herself will attend the premiere in a rare show of support for any media exposure of her magazine.

WWD goes so far as to say that the film chronicles the last hurrah of the luxury boom, and hints that footage may include Anna talking about the end of her career.

What else do we want to see?

1. What everyone's wearing, duh.

2. The fashion closet.

Scar Jo Bazaar.jpg

Looks like you'll be getting an eyeful of Scarlett Johansson (on a scarlet-colored cover for Valentine's Day no less) on the February issue of Harper's Bazaar.

Looks like Johansson is styled in true bombshell fashion for the occasion, complete with a red sequined, backless dress. We're sure fiance Ryan Reynolds wouldn't complain if she pulled that out for V-Day.
