Gossip Girl set photos reveal Leighton Meester hopping on a trend

Just after we read about how bicycles are the newest “it” fashion accessory, this picture popped up in our inbox!

Leighton Meester, aka Blair Waldorf, was seen with an idyllic ride on the set of Gossip Girl. We wonder if these scenes were shot in the Hamptons or the city.

The perky Alice + Olivia dress she’s wearing sort of points towards Hamptons. We just can’t wait to see those episodes! Pick up Blair’s Garden Party dress here for $440.

Last night on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York, the so far less-entertaining or engaging spin-off of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps donned this Alice + Olivia for the Seventeen magazine fashion week party and later attended the Alice + Olivia presentation.

Alice + Olivia dress on sale at shopbop

By Andrea Thatcher on January 29th, 2008

Browsing the Shopbop sale, as we are wont to do, we came across this Alice + Olivia diamond shift dress on sale for only $89.10 – that’s more than half off! Only a size large is still available, but given the cinched waist, straight fit and designers’ habit for cutting small, we think a medium would fit into this fine. Layer it and you have a professional yet stylish look for work, just be sure to wear tights and flats to keep the mini from being too sexy.

How to rock shiny leggings

By Andrea Thatcher on October 19th, 2007

I love the look of shiny leggings, as seen on Victoria Beckham, Ashley Olsen, and Kate Moss at Instyle.com. It’s an easy cheat for leather pants and they look super rock god under a tunic dress or rock t-shirt. The sequin leggings (above, left) by Alice + Olivia are $297 on Shopbop.com . But if you want to rock the look, but can’t afford to shell out hundreds, try a pair of Shiny Nylon Tricot Leggings (above, right) from American Apparel for only $34.

When tailoring the latest designer ensemble is taking its toll on your wardrobe budget, DIY fashion could be a wiser option. Finding the perfect pair of jeans, tailored dresses, or fashion-forward t-shirts with your own label is easier than ever with the growth of online custom-made apparel shops and websites that let us create our own trend following. Sites such as UJeans, Spreadshirt.com, and Rebecca & Drew allow us to find exactly the right fit with high quality and the latest trends in mind.

By Andrea Thatcher on September 24th, 2007

In the seventy-percent pile, you’ve got a Marc by Marc Jacobs striped cover-up for $80 and an AKA New York print lace-front mini dress, originally $338 on sale for $101.
