Amanda Seyfried doesn’t wash her hair very often

By Andrea Petrou on December 14th, 2011

Amanda Seyfried doesn’t like to wash her hair often.

The Mamma Mia! actress says the secret to her luscious blonde locks is not over-styling them and will only use shampoo and conditioner every three days.

She said: “Don’t wash it! I wash my hair every three days which is something I would’ve never imagined years ago, but I also use dry shampoo and my hair is even healthier.”

Amanda also revealed how she takes good care of her skin and tries to protect herself from the sun as much as possible.

She told Stylelist: “I’m really scared of the sun. During the day, I use the Gentle Protective Emulsion moisturiser with SPF. And I don’t go to bed without putting on La Creme. It smells really good and when I wake up, I know my face is going to feel really good.”

Amanda recently revealed she is becoming more aware with how she’s ageing, saying: “Living in a society where there’s so much attention given to age-defying products, I’m really aware of how my face is changing, even at my age.”

In Time actress Amanda Seyfried has great fashion sense says designer Prabal Gurung

By Andrea Petrou on November 8th, 2011

Amanda Seyfried “lights up” the red carpet with her fashion choices.

The In Time actress has been praised by designer Prabal Gurung – favoured by Sarah Jessica Parker and Zoe Saldana – for her outfit decisions, noting she looked “flawless” at a recent premiere.

He said: “I love seeing how the girls personalise a runway look and really make it their own.

“It’s not hard for Amanda to light up a carpet, but the way she looked at the ‘In Time’ premiere was flawless. Those are the kinds of moments that inspire a designer.”

He is also delighted ‘Sex and the City’ star Sarah has chosen to wear his designs on a number of occasions.

He added to People magazine: “There are so many options out there, and for SJP To chose mine, it’s incredible.

“I feel really grateful and amazed. I hope that in 20 or 30 years, I still feel excited about it. Not just Parker, but with any girl who chooses my clothes.”

Amanda recently revealed she is tempted to change her look dramatically by cutting off her hair into a shorter style.

She said: “I’m so tempted to chop my hair up into a bob like I have in my latest movie In Time. Although in a way I like having the same long hair when I’m not shooting because I can change it around for the different roles, wear a wig etc and I instantly become someone else.”

Amanda Seyfried worries about ageing

By Andrea Petrou on November 2nd, 2011

Amanda Seyfried finds it hard to ignore ageing in Hollywood.

The ‘In Time’ actress revealed although she is only 25, she is constantly warned about getting wrinkles but she tries not to let it affect her.

She said: “Aging is something that’s thrown in my face every day. It’s hard to ignore it sadly but I’m not in any hurry to stop the process!”

The blonde beauty – who sports a cropped black bob in her latest movie – also revealed she has considered chopping off her long locks but prefers to keep the same look when she is not working.

Amanda – who looked gorgeous in a H&M shorts suit from their eco range at the ‘In Time’ premiere at the Curzon cinema in London – explained to BANG Showbiz: “I’m so tempted to chop my hair up into a bob like I have in my latest movie In Time. Although in a way I like having the same long hair when I’m not shooting because I can change it around for the different roles, wear a wig etc and I instantly become someone else.”

Amanda Seyfried “daydreams” about becoming a mother

By Andrea Petrou on October 26th, 2011

Amanda Seyfried “daydreams” about becoming a mother.

The ‘In Time’ actress says she can’t wait to settle down and have children but says she’s a long way off realising her dream because she’s currently single.

She said: “I can’t wait to have kids but I have to keep myself in check. I’m not having a baby any time soon. I don’t even have a boyfriend, so it’s not going to happen. But I love spending time with babies and daydreaming what it’s going to be like for me.”

While she would like children in the future, Amanda, 25, says she’s content with being a mother to her dog.

She told Look magazine: “My dog Finn’s my baby, I treat him like a child! I think this is easier for now.”

The blonde beauty also revealed how she sometimes finds it hard to trust men.

Amanda – who has previously dated Dominic Cooper and Ryan Phillippe – said: “I’m a little suspicious of people – men – but I have good intuition.”

Amanda Seyfried says she was a “weird-looking” child.

By Andrea Petrou on April 26th, 2011

Amanda Seyfried says she was a “weird-looking” child.

The ‘Red Riding Hood’ actress is often voted one of the world’s most beautiful women but she insists she hasn’t always been confident with her looks, even though she was a child model.

She said: “I was a child model but I wasn’t doing much of it. I just don’t consider myself a ‘model’ because I wasn’t. I was such a weird-looking child. I had braces and I was kind of chubby.”

Amanda has previously revealed how she hated looking in the mirror when she was growing up because she felt so ugly.

She said: “I was an insecure young girl and I didn’t think I was pretty. I didn’t like my body. I really looked in the mirror and thought I was ugly because I didn’t look like a normal girl. I wanted braces, stick-straight hair and a tan. But I wouldn’t go to the tanning booth and I had trouble getting up early enough to be able to straighten my hair. It would take forever so my arms would hurt.”

Style spotlight: Amanda Seyfried

By Andrea Petrou on April 11th, 2011

Amanda Seyfried has once again made a huge mark on our fashion radar. The actress, who disappeared after her fame on Mama Mia, has made a come back with a ware wolf inspired take of Little Red Riding Hood, aptly named Red Riding Hood.

And with the film tipped to be huge – it’s directed by a Twilight director, Amanda’s fashion profile is sure to rise.

Unlike many an actress who go for big gowns and lots of bling in a bid to stand out, Amanda’s style is pretty subtle. The actress is a fan of bodycon frocks, which sit either daringly above the thigh or just above the knee and it seems she’s a fan of those bright colours often opting for purples, blues and turquoises on the red carpet. However, she’s also not afraid to experiment. In the past she’s been snapped in shorts and blazers as well as fairytale style ballgown dresses, which haven’t quite hit the fashion mark.

And of course she’s also no stranger to the classic LBD, wearing a range of these too.

See the gallery below for all her style.

Amanda Seyfried felt ugly in childhood

By Andrea Petrou on March 7th, 2011

Amanda Seyfried used to think she was ugly.

The ‘Red Riding Hood’ actress is often regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful women but she admits that hasn’t always been the case and when growing up, she didn’t like what she used to see in the mirror.

While she used to hate her looks, last year, Amanda was named as the new face of Japanese beauty line Cle de Peau Beaute.

The ‘Mamma Mia!’ beauty said: “I appreciate Cle de Peau Beaute’s philosophy of empowering each woman to define her own unique sense of style. It’s a very sophisticated approach to beauty that I appreciate and feel closely reflects my own beauty ideals.”

Amanda Seyfried admits to having a “naughty” tattoo

By Andrea Petrou on April 1st, 2010

Yesterday we put together a gallery of the best celebrity tattoos, but in our haste it seems we missed one crucial piece of art work, and that’s the tatt of Amanda Seyfried.

The actress who comes across as cute and innocent, has admitted she has a naughty tatt on her inner left foot, which spells out the not so tasteful word “Minge”. According to sources the star learnt the word from Colin Firth on the set of ‘Mama Mia!

The actress recently said of her, er, artwork: “It’s a nickname, it’s evolved into kind of an endearing term, a term of endearment. I don’t really take that many things seriously so I thought, ‘Hey, why not?’

“I wanted to know what a tattoo felt like. I got it in October, and a couple of us have it. ‘Minge’ [is] slang in Britain for like, ‘vagina.’ I don’t know, a lot of people think I don’t know what it means, but I’ve lived there before I know what it means.”

Many of us are more than aware of what that means Amanda.

Oscars 2010: Best dressed at the Vanity Fair after party

By Andrea Petrou on March 9th, 2010

While Elton and his celebrity clan were living it up at his after party event, other celebrities partied the night away at the Vanity Fair event.

Amanda Seyfried, who thankfully changed out of her bridal red carpet dress, Katy Perry, Cameron Diaz, Amy Adams (who was notedly absent at the actual Oscars ceremony) all made an appearance.

And some, including Victoria Beckham (who wore the same dress) also mixed and matched their evenings attending both.

We’ve put together a gallery of the best dressed.

Oscars 2010: Amanda Seyfried gets caught in a bridal wave

By laurenbravo on March 7th, 2010

oscar_arrivals148_wenn5440122.jpgIt was a micro-trend at last year’s awards, and this year even more stars are saying ‘I do’ to dresses in white, ivory and sugared-almond shades. Whether it’s a nod to this winter’s unseasonably snowy weather, or a series of not-so-subtle hints to noncommittal boyfriends, bridal looks were all over tonight’s red carpet.

Best actress nominee Sandra Bullock pulled it off like a true leading lady, with exquisite beaded vintage fabric and sweet pink lips, while Up in the Air star Anna Kendrick was a vision in palest pink.

A little less successful, however, was Amanda Seyfried‘s meringue – we can only assume the actress seems to have took reference from her starring role in musical wedding romp Mamma Mia when choosing this Armani Prive gown. The quilted satin fabric saves it from true Princess Barbie territory, but alongside so many chic column gowns and flirty ruffles it still comes off a little like the lady your Granny puts on top of her loo roll.
