Amy Winehouse seems to be back on top form, as a tasteful black and white photoshoot for the November issue of Harper’s Bazaar showed us. The smoky-voiced singer looked much more healthy and glamorous than she has in a very long time, rocking her iconic Bardot-esque beehive and a 1960s pea coat for the shoot, which will be available to buy later this week.
It’s good to see that Amy’s recovered from her fall from grace – a couple of years ago you couldn’t look through a gossip magazine without seeing a photo of her looking tired and scabby, or hear increasingly nasty developments of her tumultuous relationship with her then-hubby, Blake. But what a recovery she’s made. The singer has regained her curves, got a lovely new boyfriend and is set to launch a classically 1950s collection of sportswear with iconic British fashion brand Fred Perry, which should be available to buy this month. It’s good to have Wino back again – we can’t wait to see what she’s come up with.
Oh dear, these celebrities don’t have any qualms about saying what they think. And it seems Mischa Barton’s outspoken concerns about her new pal’s Amy Winehouse’s drinking have led the pair to end their very short friendship.
According to The Sun, Mischa who may be moving back to the UK permanently to settle down with boyfriend Ali Love, was catching up with new pal Amy at Camden celebrity hangout, the Hawley Arms.
However, the pair came to blows after Mischa, who is newly teetotal and stuck to tonic water all evening, tried to curb Amy’s drinking telling her that she’d had enough for the evening.
And it seems the comment was enough to spark an angry confrontation between the pair.
The Sun source said: “Obviously she [Amy] was drunk and didn’t take it well, she yelled at Mischa that it was none of her business and her mate told her to leave it.”
The pair may have fallen out over alcohol but who do you think is the most stylish off the two? Is it Amy with her trademark ballet pumps and sometimes scruffy style or is it Mischa who too favours the scruffy look but also goes for glam in vintage dresses and tops?

London was awash with celebrities in casual, smart and outrageous attire yesterday as the likes of Leona Lewis, Paloma Faith and Jessica Taylor hit the town.
Paloma once again showed off her outrageous, yet excellent style opting for a pink glitter ballgown frock, which she once again teamed up with a funky headpiece, while Leona Lewis went for a bodycon skirt and shoe boots (we want) for a special viewing of The Sorcerers Apprentice.
But it was also a dress down day for some. Jessica Taylor opted for baggy khaki combat trousers for a walk in Chelsea with hubby Kevin Pieterson, while Fearne Cotton went for baggy highwaisted boyfriend jeans and a rock tee for her day at the Radio One studios. Ellie Goulding also kept it simple with skinny jeans and an 80s style bomber jacket.
However, it was once again Amy Winehouse who won the “scruffy” award opting for denim hotpants, which seemed to be a bit big for her, and of course her trademark ballet pumps.
Another night and another reason for stars to hit the London circuit. Last night London played host to a range of celebrities most notably Jennifer Aniston who hit the capital after launching her first fragrance at Harrods.
The starlet dressed in a stunning pink ruffled strapless frock for the launch before changing for a night out at C restaurant. However, while Jen was making her entrance at Harrods, other’s were shopping in less exclusive climes.
Laila Rouass was spotted coming out of the West End branch of TKMaxx following the retail stores launch.
And it seems denim was also a favourite last night with Sadie Frost stepping out in cropped jeans and red shoes for a photography launch in Camden, Usual London nightlife suspect Amy Winehouse also opted for shorts and of course her trademark ballet pumps for an alcohol fuelled night out.
While I was getting over my jet lag yesterday (ok I promise no more mentions of holidays now) the stars were once again out in full force enjoying the warm weather in London.
No stranger to the London nightlife scene Amy Winehouse made the most of the heat stepping out in a blue bodycon dress and her trademark ballet pumps to watch Nas and Damian Marley perform at the Hammersmith Apollo. Across town, former Hollyoaks star Emma Rigby opted for skinny jeans, peeptoe wedges and a casual blazer following her performance for the Wolfboy musical.
Lauren Laverne played it safe in a vintage style black dress and ankle peep toe boots for the Mercury Prize Nominations at The Hospital. She was joined by Corrine Bailey Rae who also opted for this colour in the shape of an asymmetric black jumpsuit. However, it was Fearne Cotton who once again won the ShinyStyle best dressed award in a fashion mish mash consisting of a rock tee, vintage skirt complete with petticoat and pink brogues.
Yes I know on paper it shouldn’t work but Fearne carried it off. However, a word of caution, copying Fearne’s look by sticking on everything under the sun won’t quite work here. It may look like a messy outfit but I guarantee it takes hours of planning.
Last night seemed to be a bit of a party evening for a few celebs with many taking advantage of the British weather and hitting the town.
First on the London list was Amy Winehouse who resurfaced with a vengance. She started off the night in the Soho Jazz club looking fresh faced at cute in a gingham playsuit and ballet pumps. However her sober night didn’t last as she stumbled into Balans restaurant at three in the morning wearing a black dress and looking slightly worse for wear. According to reports she stayed at the diner until 5 (well it beats a kebab on the way home).
Looking far more sober, but also enjoying a meal was Lara Stone who stepped out with new hubby David Walliams for a bite to eat at Nobu. As always the model looked stunning in a simple white shift dress, which was a perfect choice for a summer night.
Next up was Pussy Cat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, who also opted for a cute strapless dress to party the night away in London’s clubs.
However Miley Cyrus went for a different outing. The singer dressed in shorts, t-shirt and on-trend peep toe ankle boots left her hotel in Nottinghill for a night out before returning half an hour later. What a waste of an outfit Miley.
First there was Amy Winehouse‘s collection for Fred Perry and now Liam Gallagher has announced he too will be expanding his talents into the world of womenswear.
The Oasis singer is adding the line to his Pretty Green brand, which has so far been targeted just at men.
“A lot of girls are asking if we will be doing a range for them and the answer to that is yes, once we have got rid of all the lads’ stuff,” he said.
And it seems Mr Gallagher isn’t just doing this for the money – he’s actually quite sentimental about the range.
“Its success does surprise me considering I’ve got something to do with it – there are a lot of people who try to kill things before they even become alive,” he added.
According to WWD, the queen of the beehive, heavy eyeliner and erm, drinking, is teaming up with sports brand Fred Perry to create a capsule collection of 17 items including skirts, capri pants and two piece suits, not forgetting Fred Perry’s statement polo shirts.
Although the sketches suggest Amy has predominantly gone Back to black (and white), we’ve also spotted a few Pringle style golfing design frocks and jumpers in there too in pink.
Richard Martin, Fred Perry’s marketing director, said: “Amy has been wearing Fred Perry for years, so we were aware she was a genuine fan of the brand.
“We had three major design meetings where she was closely involved in product style selection and the application of fabric, color and styling details. Amy gave crucial input on proportion, color and fit. The range clearly has Amy’s handwriting.”
The first part of the collection will hit shops in October this year and we really hope for Amy’s sake it’s a success.

The Oscar pre-parties are in full swing as celebrities don their pre Oscar dresses and hit the red carpet.
Yesterday we spotted Jessica Alba looking hot in pale pink, and it seems this may be becoming the trend for these parties.
American Beauty star Mena Suvari arrived at the 3rd Annual Women In Film Pre-Oscar Party at a private residence in Bel Air last night in a satin tunic empire dress with chiffon ruffle detailing. She also took a tip out of Amy Winehouse’s beauty book opting for a small behive.
Get Mena’s look with this tunic dress complete with ruffles from Dorothy Perkins, we think for £35 its a style steal. Team up with silver sandals for the ultimate Oscar Party look.
Fergie and Taylor Swift were both sporting some sexy legwear as they announced the Grammy Award nominations yesterday. The Black Eyed Peas singer had on some sexy thigh-high boots, while the country crooner sported booties and striped tights. We can expect lots more fashion to come when nominees like Amy Winehouse (record of the year, album of the year), Beyonce (record of the year), and Rihanna (record of the year) rock the red carpet.
