LA Fashion Week stands out with eco-concious credo

After most of spring’s fashion trends were covered in New York, London, Milan, and Paris, L.A. Fashion Week set itself apart by highlighting the environmental sustainability of its designs. Fashions made of organic cotton, hemp, bamboo and other sustainable materials are increasingly in demand, and the industry is starting to listen to the consumer. The ecoStyle initiative will recognize some designers answering the call for green at their Nov. 22 awards with prizes for innovations in industrial design, architecture, fashion.
