Anna Wintour lashes back at Hillary Clinton

You know it’s that time again, election time, when politicos start invading our favorite fashion magazines. But one candidate who won’t be appearing in one venerable fashion tome is Hillary Clinton who backed out of a spot in Vogue.

According to WWD, Clinton was all set to appear in US Vogue during the presidential race but backed out late last fall before the photo shoot was due to take place for fear of appearing too feminine.

You would think it was pretty clear Clinton has nothing against Vogue considering her traveling chief of staff Huma Abedin has been gracing the mag’s pages as often as a starlet lately. Maybe she just doesn’t think it’s presedential.

Most of us dream of having Anna Wintour dress us, but the other way around isn’t half bad either. Stardoll has responded to demand for an Anna Wintour paper doll with the character at left, and a whole range of casual to formal fashions to dress her up in. This is highly addictive, not least of all because of the ridiculous hats and clothes you can put her in – but creating an Anna Wintour fashion victim doll just seems wrong. The best of the clothes seem Audrey Hepburn-inspired more than Anna inspired, but we’ll take it.

Anna Wintour and Bee Shaffer at 7th on Sale Gala

Not your average mother-daughter pair, Anna Wintour and Bee Shaffer walked the red carpet at the 7th on Sale gala in style. Anna was wearing regal Chanel haute couture while Bee looked fresh and age-appropriate in Dolce & Gabbana. Anna even took a break from her honorary chair duties to peddle the wares, like a $5,000 Rochas gown. I mean, come on, if Anna Wintour told you something would look great on you, wouldn’t you scoop it up?

The 10 finalists for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund honors have been announced, WWD is reporting. This year’s haute hopefulls are Phillip Lim of 3.1 Phillip Lim; Scott Sternberg of Band of Outsiders; Erin Fetherston of Fetherston Design Group; Nunthirat Koi Suwannagate of Koi; Rogan Gregory of Rogan; Gabriel Asfour, Angela Donhauser and Adi Gil of Threeasfour; Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai of Vena Cava; Victoria Bartlett of VPL; Michael Bastian, and Philip Crangi of Philip Crangi Jewelry. Get to know those names, because they’ll be sure to have increased coverage in Vogue, whose editor in chief, Anna Wintour, above, helps helm the awards.
