Giles Deacon would love to dress Anne Hathaway.
The British designer – who has previously worked with Kelly Brook and Victoria Beckham in the past – is keen to work with the One Day beauty because he likes her look.
He said: “We’ve never dressed Anne Hathaway. She has an amazing presence and I think she’s a pretty good actress.
Anne is not the only star the 41-year-old sartorialist is particularly keen to work with, with Lauren Bacall named as his all-time style icon.
He said: “Lauren Bacall would be really interesting to dress. She’s a Hollywood legend and was married to Humphrey Bogart, so you wouldn’t mess with her. She’d let you know very clearly what she has after and you’d willingly do it.”
Discussing his own style, Giles admits he loves to splash out on designer suits.
He added to Now magazine: “I’m terrible at buying things for myself. As you can tell, I dress a bit like a tramp!I really like Yves Saint Laurent men’s suits and Tom Ford suits and ties. I’d really love a Tom Ford dressing gown. That’d be worth maxing out my credit card.”
I don’t know about you, but weepy romantic films like One Day are not my bag. (I know this is totally unfair because I haven’t actually seen One Day, but I saw enough meaningful glances and lines like ,”I love you Dexter… I just don’t like you anymore..” to get the picture.) Having said that, I love a good premiere, especially one Anne Hathaway is at.
Anne looked every inch the star at yesterday’s première in an incredibly elegant fitted midi-dress made out of white lace, worn with nude heels and 40s-inspired starlet hair. Her co-star, Ramola Garai, looked like a vintage siren in a black lace cocktail dress and smoky eye-makeup. Also looking quite romantic was Peaches Geldof attending the event with her new boyfriend, Thomas Cohen. Peaches looked very airy-fairy in a wafting nude maxi dress with chiffon cape sleeves and crystal detailing.
“Made In Chelsea” star Millie Mackintosh looked like a FINE FILLY in a pair of high-waisted leather shorts to show off her St Tropez tan, worn with a chic grey tweed jacket that we’re almost definite is Chanel. Also rocking a more informal, smart-casual look was MTV’s Lauren Whitmore who turned up in a cool, slouchy men’s tuxedo jacket with a miniskirt for a sexy twist on the current androgynous trend. Elly Jackson was also there in a mad brocade coat.
Our top style points go to the actress Jodie Whittaker, who looked SO elegant and beautiful in a very structured, high-necked white dress with long sleeves to show off her slim figure. Jodie teamed the dress with some statement black and silver heels and a silver clutch for a clean and modern look.
Check out the gallery above to see who we spotted at the “One Day” première and what they wore.
Anne Hathaway is on an incredibly strict diet and exercise plan for her role as Catwoman in the upcoming Batman film, “The Dark Knight Rises”.
Anne, who’s a devoted vegetarian, is mainly living on a special kind of cabbage in preparation for the scenes where she has to wear Catwoman’s iconic skin-tight Catsuit. Anne told Chelsea Handler on the ‘Chelsea Lately’ show, “I’m a vegetarian and right now, I’m living on kale and dust for the training. That catsuit’s unforgiving, man!” Poor girl..
The actress revealed that the strict training she’s gone through for the film has finally made her enjoy exercise.
Anne said: “Last time I was here we talked about how much I really don’t like working out. I really like it now. I know, that’s like, ugh… that person. Like, I came to LA, got a bikini wax, went blond and love working out. There’s a workout hump where you’re so weak that you hate everything and everything’s painful, and you look like an idiot. Like, the gym that I work out at, I was literally working out next to a pregnant Jessica Alba, and she could do more pushups than I could!” It’s never good to be upstaged like a pregnant lady, although Jessica Alba probably has muscles like Popeye.
Good luck with your dust diet, Anne- hopefully filming won’t last much longer and you can have a big old pizza.
Anne Hathaway has a “sweet tooth” – but will only eat vegan cakes.
The 28-year-old actress is a committed vegetarian and although she loves baked treats she won’t let any doughy delights pass her lips which have been made from animal products.
She said: “I’m a vegetarian but I have a sweet tooth, so I go to this wonderful bakery in New York called BabyCakes. It makes amazing vegan cakes, which are gluten free and often sugar free, egg free and dairy free. The vegan apple pie is incredible – it’s my favourite dish.”
Anne also likes to get her hands dirty in the kitchen herself and often creates the cakes from the bakery at home.
She added: “I’ve got a cookbook from there and I’ve made just about everything in it. I’m an awesome baker – I’ll give myself credit for that.”
The ‘Love and Other Drugs’ star enjoys cooking and is willing to try and prepare any meal, and her inspiration is TV chef Nigella Lawson.
She said: “I love Nigella she’s so passionate and loves cooking, which is very inspiring, but she’s very entertaining too – in a good way. Am I a domestic goddess? No, I’m a horror, but luckily, I have very hungry friends who will try out anything I concoct.”
It was a white night yesterday as celebrities and models descended on the White Fairy Tale Ball at the Chateau De Wideville in Paris.
The event, which coincides with Paris Haute Couture week, was set up by Valentino and Natalia Vodianova as part of the Naked Heart Foundation charity.
It enticed Anne Hathaway who looked stunning in an ethereal long frock with a floral headpiece, while Olivia Palermo went for a silver woven white dress for the event.
Although she didn’t keep in with the white theme Eva Herzigova looked lovely in a sleek black dress, while Natalia Vodianova also decided to stand out in a gorgeous red dress.
Anne Hathaway feels like the “luckiest girl in the world” because she gets to wear lots of glamorous clothes.
The stunning actress – who made seven wardrobe changes while hosting the Oscars in February – says she is in a privileged position because she is able to don so many different outfits during her various film roles.
She told America’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “I feel like the luckiest girl in the world when I get to wear all theses glamorous clothes.
“I’ve become a lot more specific about what I love and why I’m doing it. I got to have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I wore beautiful clothes.”
The ‘Devil Wears Prada’ star also revealed she enjoys wearing classics from Isabel Marant and Dame Vivienne Westwood when she is not strolling down a red carpet but doesn’t mind not going without clothes when she is working.
Speaking about scenes she filmed for movie ‘Love and Other Drugs’, she added: “I don’t get hung up on nudity. To me, it was just an extension of who she was. It was real.”
But Anne was able to dress up when co-hosting this year’s Academy Awards with ’127 Hours’ actor James Franco, which she has described as “pure joy”.
She previously said: “I had a blast. I kept waiting to become nervous. Everyone kept asking me, ‘Are you nervous?’ The whole ride from beginning to end was joy, pure joy.”
It’s been a week of fancy frocks and casual wear as celebrities have been spotted at events and out and about.
Flying the flag for fancy frocks was Kylie Minogue who looked stunning in a lace cream dress, while Neve Campbell stood out at the Scream 4 Premier in black.
And the LBD seemed to be the style du jour this week with Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway and Peaches Geldof all sporing this look.
Keeping in with the navy blue trend was Kate Middleton who opted for a not so fashionable look of a knee length pencil skirt and jacket, while Emma Roberts showed us how to work this colour is a cute halterneck frock.
Also standing out was Paris Hilton who went for a bright floral number, while Dannii Minogue went all casual yummy mummy on us with a nautical top and jeans.

We’ve always had a soft spot for Anne Hathaway here at ShinyStyle – sweet, modest and down to earth, she’s just the right kind of star that we’d all love to be best friends with. Which is why hearing her speak out about how it felt to recieve so much criticism over her performance at the Oscars made us want to make her a cup of Horlicks and give her a big cuddle.
The lovely doe-eyed actress had to present the opening of the Oscars with heartthrob actor James Franco, and their back-and-forth banter was awkward to say the least (you can see the video here) – though we think that the actress did the best she could with the awful lines she was given, bless her, and was a real trooper about it, others have heavily criticised both the actress and the producers for her clumsy, not-particularly-funny presenting style. I suppose it’s a hard act to follow when Ricky Gervais is your predecessor..
Poor old Anne finally spoke out about her experiences at the Oscars on the Today show: “The critics were tough. They said we were the worst show ever. I think that qualifies as tough.” When asked if she’d do it again, the actress replied, “Maybe. Perhaps. No.” We’ll take that as a definite no, the poor duck.
Don’t worry Anne, we still love you!
