With so many fashionable American celebs making the style headlines (think Lady Gaga and Jennifer Aniston) Brit girls often take a back seat.
Although they may spend time in Hollywood, stars such as Emma Watson, Kate Moss and Kate Winslet all fly the flag for UK fashionable females, always looking stunning in red carpet frocks as well as casual attire.
So we felt that it was time to really bring these ladies to the forefront of the fashion world and put together a gallery of who we think are the top ten most stylish British celebrities.
And as always we want to hear from you. View the gallery below and then vote on your favourite UK style queen. The winner will get her own personal write up with a gallery of her top styles.
And as always, if you have anything more you’d like to add leave your comments in the box below.
A few weeks after Lara Stone announced her wedding dress designer would be Riccardo Tisci, supermodel Coco Rocha has said she’ll be enlisting the creative talents of Zac Posen for her frock.
We had thought the model, come designer would be designing her own dress but she confirmed the news on Twitter.
“Mr. Zac Posen is the best! I met with him to discuss wedding dress designs and immediately sketches were flying… So exciting!!,” she wrote on her page.
We can’t wait to see the design Coco chooses, and will her dress be better than Miss Stone’s?
We see a real life fashion bride wars coming up quite soon.
There’s enough fashion content in Beyonce’s and Lady Gaga‘s Telephone video to start an alternative fashion week. We’ve seen PVC, pirate hats, chains and head pieces galore as well as a range of undies and costumes.
However one scene that really sticks out is the one towards the end when Beyonce and Lady G take to the stage, or in this case Diner floor, in American style outfits. And we’ve decided to put the talented singers up against each other to see who carries it off the best.
On Friday we gave you a sneaky look at Lady Gaga’s and Beyonce’s Telephone video, and we’re sure you’ll agree it was a very welcome Friday treat. And now we’ve got a bit more of an update for you and that’s who designed the crazy ladies outfits.
Lady Gaga, who is no stranger to the delights of designer fashion and in the past has been dressed by Armani and the late Alexander McQueen opted for Viktor & Rolf this time.
According to Vogue.com the designers custom made her dark grey leopard jersey jumpsuit complete with bodice and chains.
Viktor & Rolf said: “Lady Gaga asked us to design a prisoner’s outfit.
“This is how we imagined Gaga if she was incarcerated. She inspired us and her bodysuit was included in our brand new “glamour factory” collection. It is styled with a huge pile of exaggerated metal chain necklaces.”
However the two ladies didn’t just stick to one designer for the shoot. As well as Viktor & Rolf, the two ladies wore Jean Charles de Castelbajac designs. Beyoncé choose a blue jacket from the spring/summer 2010 collection and Lady Gaga of course went for a bespoke dress.
We see another fashion face off coming on very soon……..
It’s happened to the best of us. We’ve walked into a store in the middle of the summer to get ourselves kited out with a new bikini for our summer holiday, only to find we’re too late and the shelves are already stacked with cosy looking jackets for the winter.
They may look lovely, but let’s face it, that parka is not going to be any use to us on a beach, unless of course you have very poor circulation.
And guess what, we’re not the only ones that get frustrated about it.
Designer Donna Karan is fighting to get the system changed. “I hate to say it, somebody’s got to take the leap of faith and deal with the June, July market,” she told WWD. “Pre-fall shouldn’t exist, I’m sorry. Wrong. Let’s start there. We’ve got to bring clothes into season.” Donna has said she wants clothes, especially winterwear, to hit shelves when, well, it’s actually cold.
We can see Donna’s point, and completely agree that it’s a bit of a nightmare finding fashions to suit seasons when the shops are one step ahead. We’re sure were not the only ones who struggled to get excited about the pretty floral short sleeved tops when it was snowing back in early Februar, but will doing this change the whole fashion ethos and catwalk shows as we know them?

It’s the video we’ve all been waiting to see; Lady Gaga‘s and Beyonce’s collaboration for Telephone. And even if you don’t heart the music it’s worth watching it for the sheer amount of outfits sported by the two singing sensations.
Lady Gaga sets the tone for the trends when she steps out into a prison scene clad in a PVCblack and white striped dress, similar to the one that gave her problems on the plane last week, complete with Lady G statement sharp shoulders. In a tribute to the song she wears a coke can (yes you read right) in her barnet.
And the wacky outfits don’t end there. In a parody to prison attire Miss G dons chains, complete with leather skirt and jacket before taking it all off to show off a studded bra and knicker set. And those worried that the trademark headpieces had been lost, fear not, because the pirate hat and telephone, er, hat? all make up for it.
And it’s not just the Lady that makes a play for the PVC, with Beyonce donning a few of these herself, we particularly love her yellow PVC dress and matching hat, which matches the Kill Bill ethos, and Pussy Wagon the girls drive around it.
We think its the best funky fashion show we’ve seen for a very long time!

We never ever thought we’d be writing this, but it seems someone might just be stealing Lady Gaga‘s funky fashion crown – well for performance costumes anyway.
Now we know that stage costumes are usually out of this world (think Rihanna right through to Girls Aloud) and are a perfect way for singers to express themselves, but we think Fergies outfit, complete with Gaga style sharp shoulders, is a hot competitor to Ms G’s look.
And we have to admit Fergie wears the space age silver top, complete with Madonna style bosom cups, really well.
But has she gone far enough to beat Lady Gaga’s Armani Prive designed costumes? Let us know what you think by leaving your comments below.
Lindsay Lohan has been surrounded by controversy for a good few years now with the press covering every aspect of her “wild child” lifestyle. She’s been in rehab for drink and drugs, had a much publicised relationship, and fall out, with DJ Samantha Ronson and she’s also been accused of copying designer’s creations, not to mention her disastrous attempt at designing for fashion houseUngaro.
So we’re a little bit torn about this cover for Purple Magazine where Lindsay poses as Jesus. Standing in white with a wreath around her head and in a position reflecting the cross, Lindsay looks ever inch the innocent model.
However, we’re not sure whether the shot, photographed by Terry Richardson, is designed to stir up some controversy or if it’s Lindsay’s way of telling us she’s turning over a new leaf.

Jennifer Aniston is one of the few stars who for so long, has resisted joining the likes of Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Sarah Jessica Parker in launching a fragrance. But it seems she’s finally succumbed.
According to reports in WWD, the actress has signed a deal with the Falic Group- the company that also manages Eva Longoria Parker‘s upcoming fragrance.
Details on the fragrance are still sketchy with Jen’s management not confirming anything at the moment. However rumour has it that it’s taken 20 months for the Friends star to come up with the perfect whiff.
She’s also been struggling on the name, which would sum up the idea of ‘romance and freedom at any age’ in one word. Suggestions for “Aniston” has been turned down by bosses as well as “Echo” and “High Maintenance“.
What do you think Jen should call her scent? Let us know by leaving your comment below.
Like with the Oscar‘s ceremony we were a little bit hard pressed to find a worst dressed celebrity at the Vanity Fair Oscar 2010 party. Katie Price stuck to Elton’s do, and other celebs really dressed for the occasion.
However, there is always one that gives us an excuse for a little “what was she wearing” comment and we’re sorry to say that these words have fallen on Selma Blair.
We don’t mind the sparkly frock, but the length is a little bit confused for us, sitting too far under the knee and too high up to make it full length. We also think the blazer the actress has teamed it up with is too heavy for the outfit.
And we understand that it was cold, but Selma, really, you’re already wearing a blazer, you don’t need a scarf. Take a look around you and have a think about all those ladies who have braved the freeze without even a shawl.
We gave you live coverage of all the Oscar fashions throughout the evening, but as we were sleeping off our all nighters, the Hollywoodcelebrity clan we’re continuing to party the evening away at various after parties.
And one of the most talked about was the We gave you live coverage of all the Oscar fashions throughout the evening, but as we were sleeping off our all nighters, the Hollywood celebrity clan we’re continuing to party the evening away at various after parties. And one of the most talked about was the 18th Annual Elton JohnAIDS Foundation Academy Awards.
Celebrities such as Mel B, Hayden Panettiere well as Victoria Beckham all flocked to one of the most well known events of the year, and dare we say, some of those dresses were even even better than those found on the Oscar Red carpet.
We’ve put together a gallery of the best. Let us know if you agree and who you think deserves the overall “best dressed” .
In our last post we gave you the six best dressed, and told you we struggled to sift these out because of the quality of style on the red carpet this year.
However that doesn’t mean there wasn’t any fashion faux pas, and these were made by the gorgeous Charlize Theron.
The actress, who doesn’t always get it right, went horribly wrong with a lilac satin frock.
But it wasn’t the on-trend colour we have an issue with, it’s the Madonna style boob cups, which are the beginning of a monstrous long train.
Charlize, we’re sorry but that kind of fashion went out of Vogue in the 80s.
Earlier today we set about predicting what Helen Mirren would be wearing for this year’s Oscars. Looking back at her previous trends, which screamed elegance and bared her trademark sheer sleeves we thought we’d definitely see these trends tonight. We also predicted she would be wearing Lacroix.
Well, we we’re right about the frock. Like fellow Brit Kate Winslet, Helen also opted for silver, but went for a straight dress, covered with a layer of organza and, yes, you guessed it beaded sheer sleeves.
However, we weren’t so bang on with the designer. Instead of Lacroix Helen opted for Badgley Mischka, a designer she is familiar with.
We’ve been so excited about some actresses dresses this year and have been guessing for a while what each one will be wearing. One such celeb that kept our curiosity buzzing was brit beauty Kate Winslet, who always pulls off great looks at events.
And she didn’t disappoint with her silverpanelled bodice and matching satin skirt. But it wasn’t just the outfit. The actress also shone (quite literally) with her blonde locks, which she left down.
Other A-listers to grace the carpet were Twighlight star Kristen Stewart, who actually made a huge effort in a black fishtail frock. However, even this wasn’t enough to put a smile on the sulky starlet’s face.
She was the red carpet starlet we were waiting with baited breath for. The one who has made headlines for her perfect fashion choices, and become one of our favourite style icons (although sadly we have to opt for highstreet versions). We’re sure you know exactly who we’re talking about but those who are a bit confused it’s Sarah Jessica Parker.
So did she impress us? Of course she did.
The Sex and the City starlet lit up the red carpet in an on-trend gold floaty (almost 60s) Chanel gown with beading on the shoulders. And she also didn’t disappoint when it came to individuality.
Her frock came complete with what can only be described as a back to front halterneck. Yes that’s right, you read right, the strap went across the front of her neck (think choker style) instead of around the back.
However, Jessica, as much as well loved your dress, we think the make-up was all wrong. Yes it was sixties, yes it tied in with the dress, but we can’t help but think it might have been suited to a night in a Southend nightclub.
