Peter Som cancels New York Fashion Week show

By Kimberley Foster on January 8th, 2009

petersom_billblassresign.jpgDeary me things don’t appear to be improving for Peter Som. He has just announced the cancellation of his New York Fashion Week show next month, following a split from Creative Design Studios, a division of Lord & Taylor LLC.

“We have realized that our strategic interests are no longer aligned and feel that this is the best direction for our company at this time,” said Elana Posner, co-owner and CEO of Peter Som Inc.

The news comes hot on the heels of Peter’s departure from Bill Blass, which has since closed its doors and filed for bankruptcy of its couture division.

The fashion week schedule is whittling away. Not good.

Minimal jewelry and slicked back hair keep the look modern in what could quickly become matronly.
