By Andrea Petrou on March 31st, 2010

Pink DM boots £80 Asos.jpg

Yesterday we paid a tribute to Dr Martens which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary tomorrow, by putting together a gallery of on-trend boots and also a round-up of celebrity fans.
And now it seems the brand wants to give something back to its loyal shoppers.

Tomorrow it’s giving you the opportunity to snap up a pair of its most famous 1460, eight-hole boots – the first boots ever to be sold back on 1st April 1960 for a bargain £14.60.

The boots, which will be on sale at the DM flagship store in Covent Garden are available in 5 colours, but you’d better get there quick as we don’t think they’ll hang around for too long.

House of Fraser launches Kenneth Cole New York range

By Andrea Petrou on March 17th, 2010

House of Fraser has launched a women’s footwear range from Kenneth Cole New York with ultra comfy shoe technology.

The full Kenneth Cole New York colection includes women’s footwear, handbags, and jewellery.

And it’s good news for girls who find it painful to walk in heels, as the shoe collection is said to have exclusive patented cushioning system, called 925 Technology, which offers comfort and style by incorporating sheepskin and cushion soles into the shoes.
And it’s everywhere: From pointy toe flats and motorcycle boots to strappy stilettos and evening heeled styles.

We think it’s more than justified to spend that little bit more on those pairs of heels if we don’t need to buy flats for our bags, don’t you?

Studded heels add punk-glam to any outfit

By Andrea Thatcher on October 18th, 2007

I fell in love with these studded Louboutin’s (above, left) as soon as I saw them on Net-a-porter.com. But at $1,150 they’re not exactly in my freelance writer price range. These Black Eleanora studded heels from Hollywould are fantastic, but at $745 they’re still way over budget. For an affordable version, try these Jeffrey Campbell heels from ShopIntuition.com, only $100, which are very similar to the Burberry studded platform sandals (above, right), available for $940 at Nordstrom.

By Andrea Thatcher on September 20th, 2007

Designer Lela Rose’s shoe/handbag collection for Payless has launched and is available in stores and online now. Texas-bred Lela Rose graduated from Parsons in 1993. After graduation, Rose worked for Richard Tyler before starting her own line in 1996. Rose says of her work, “My philosophy of design is about creating beautiful, hand finished clothes that exude a casual luxury and refinement.” Rose’s clothing is sold at luxury retailers like Bergdorf Goodman, but you can find Rose-designed items at a much, much cheaper price at good ol’ Payless. Highlights of the line include a pair of Victorian-inspired ankle boots for US$40. Keep reading for another of our faves.
