New York Fashion Week to Lincoln Center? UPDATE: Yes!

Update: It’s official, the shows will be held at Lincoln Center starting in September of 2010.

“As our society is embracing the concept of change, the time has come for us too to change,” said IMG Fashion Senior Vice President Fern Mallis. “With our new home at Lincoln Center, we can re-invent, invigorate and reinforce fashion’s rightful place alongside the many creative disciplines, from music and dance, to opera and film, which also call world renowned Lincoln Center home.”

Inside the tents at Bryant Park

Remember when we told you that shoe designers like Manolo, Choo and Louboutin were asked to reinterpret Dorothy’s ruby slippers for the 70th anniversary of the “Wizard of Oz?” Well those shoes have been designed and produced and are on display inside the tents at Bryant Park.

Each year a different fashion display is placed around the Bryant Park fountain inside the entrance to the tents. It gives standing room guests something to look at while they wait to get in the show, when they’re done reading The Daily.
