Radiant in silver-and-chiffon Chanel at the recent Cannes film festival. We think Dunst outshone so many of the other stars there!
How did we ever let the actress Kirsten Dunst slip off our radar? Once one of the best-dressed festival-goers, up there amongst the Siennas and Kates with her Ray-Bans and slouchy laid-back outfits, she’s been a little more low-profile of late. But the angel-faced actress has exploded back into our consciousness since her sartorial appearances at this May’s Cannes film festival, during which she dazzled us with a particularly incredible tiered Chanel gown. Oh yeah, and she also won “Best Actress” for her role in her new film Melancholia. Basically, the girl is back and she has more game than ever.
Far from some of her less sophisticatedly-dressed Hollywood counterparts, Kirsten has spurned minidresses and huge hair for understated elegance, opting for floaty midi-dresses and beautifully delicate-feminine fabrics that compliment her fairy-like good looks perfectly. Her whole easy style and demeanour says to us “I have never once accidentally showed a paparazzi my pants”. And that’s a style that us hopeless norms should probably try a little harder to emulate.
Check out the gallery of our favourite 2011 Kirsten looks and comment on the gallery below to let us know that you think of the actress’ style.

Lindsey Wixon felt “honoured” at becoming the new face of Alexander McQueen.
The 17-year-old beauty admits she was shocked when she discovered she was the model for the fashion label’s latest campaign but was thrilled at the prospect.
She said: “It was a total surprise. I was standing backstage at a McQueen show and someone took my picture. I then looked on MODELS.COM soon later and it was up there as the McQueen campaign shot! I hadn’t known at all, I nearly cried! I was so honoured. That spring/summer 2011 show was really emotional. I cried at the end.”
Lindsey – who has been hailed as the next big thing – says she loves everything about modelling and can’t believe how glamorous her life has become.
She told vogue.co.uk: “Prada flew my sister and I first class to Beijing for a show there. We went business class – it was so glamorous – we had our own pod and everything. The Pet Shop Boys performed after, it was amazing. I was afraid to tell my friends about it, in case they thought I was boasting. I get really scared of anyone thinking that. Maybe it has something to do with those girls from school.
“If you’re a model you’re paid to be a muse. McQueen, for example, is all about powerful women. The designer chooses you to be a face because you project a feeling or an idea of a person. You create an idea, rather than a new character.”

The annual Cannes Film Festival has once again kicked off, bringing with it a range of extravagant red carpet dresses. Starting off the week of fancy frocks was Salma Hayak who went for an embellished grey frock for the opening night Premiere of “Midnight in Paris”, a far cry from the sexy Gucci leather frock she wore to the Puss in Boots photocall earlier in the day.
She was joined on the red carpet by Uma Thurman who swapped her casual white sleeved 70s frock, which she’d worn for the Cannes Jury photocall, for a stunning long white dress with a sexy split and feather detailing. Also on the red carpet was Aishwaraya Rai Bachchan who stepped out in a fitted embellished nude two piece.
Flying the flag for the more casual look was Rachel McAdams who showed off her blonde locks in a white capped sleeved frock at the Midnight in Paris photocall, while Lady Gaga went all gothic Geisha on us for her appearance at the event.

Oh dear it seems Lindsay Lohan‘s year is getting worse.
Yesterday a judge issued a bench warrant for the troubled star’s arrest following a Los Angeles Supreme Court judge’s ruling the actress has violated the terms of her May bail.
Judge Marsha Revel, who insisted Lohan wear an alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet, ordered the actress’ attorney into court on yesterday after learning the device started flashing during a night out.
It is thought LiLo had broken the court order banning her from drugs and alcohol, after the booze bracelet began flashing at pop star Katy Perry’s MTV Movie Awards afterparty in Los Angeles and turned heads when the flashing beeper, which alerts authorities if she breaks her drinking ban, started to flash.
Lohan was ordered to wear the SCRAM bracelet last month after missing probation hearings related to drug and drink-driving arrests.
Judge Marsha Revel was taking no chances when she ordered Los Angeles prosecutors and Lohan’s attorney Shawn Chapman Holley into court in Beverly Hills on Tuesday afternoon.
Following the emergency hearing, Revel ruled the alarm constitutes a violation of Lohan’s bail agreement.
A new bail has been set at $200,000 (£133,300). A status hearing is still scheduled for 6 July. It’s the second arrest warrant issued for Lohan in the past month – she tested Revel’s patience when she failed to show up in court for a scheduled hearing on 20 May claiming her passport was stolen at the Cannes Film Festival and she was stranded in Europe.
That warrant was rescinded after an aide to the star put down $10,000 (£6,600) towards her $100,000 (£66,600) bail.

We covered some of the best dressed A-listers from the last day of the Cannes Film Festival 2010 early this morning. However one celebrity who we think really deserves her own story is Cheryl Cole.
The singer who performed earlier on in the Cannes film fest to the tune of £250,000 at a dinner hosted by jewellery company De Grisogono in a Roberto Cavalli black frock, once again took to the red Cannes carpet. This time it was for the premiere of Outside the Law.
The starlet opted for a white floor length gown with cut out side panels and a very daring thigh high split by Versace, which she teamed up with white on-trend peep toe shoes. Celebrities forget the wedding dress look, if you want to go for the white trend du jour, this is the way to do it.

Day 9 of the Cannes Film Festival saw A-listers dressing up in the name of charity for the AmfArRs Cinema Against AIDS benefit gala at the Hotel du Cap.
And it was a night of sophisticated designer dresses. Diane Kruger, Rachel Bilson and Kirsten Dunst went for glam in Chanel dresses while Michelle Williams went for short and daring in a sequined dress by Sonia Rykiel.
Fresh off her catwalk debut Mischa Barton went for Marchesa while Jennifer Lopez unsurprisingly opted for a pink princess frock by Roberto Cavalli.
Paris Hilton also turned up in a white bridal inspired number. However our best dressed starlets of the night have to be Kate Beckinsale, who looked amazing in a silver gown by Armani Prive and Emily Blunt who wowed us in a simple red dress.

We’re all for wearing our clothes as much as possible but it’s very unlike stars to do the same making us wonder if Myleene Klass has become a victim of the clothing credit crunch.
The presenter who is currently enjoying the highlights of the Cannes Film Festival has not stepped out of her bright yellow shoes since, it seems, the event started teaming them up with every outfit she’s been snapped in at premiers, parties and even out and about.
Myleene teamed up her peep toes with a chiffon layered skirt for the Chopard party and then again with a white tea length strapless dress for the De Grisogono Dinner Party and now they’ve made their way into her everyday life too.
The starlet was snapped yesterday out and about in a black and white spotted boatneck dress, which she teamed up with a red bag, and yes, you guessed it, those yellow shoes.
View our mini gallery to see what we’re talking about.
What do you think of these peep toes and do you think Myleene is setting a good example to us fashionistas by showing you can wear the same thing over and over again. Leave your comments in the box below and let us know.

Day seven of the Cannes Film Festival saw a huge range of events. But one that really stands out to us here at ShinyStyle in the Chanel Party, which was of course hosted by Karl Lagerfeld.
And it came as no surprise that Vanessa Paradis was the guest of honour. The model who turned up with hubby Johnny Depp, looked stunnng in a black backless dress and shoes andkept it casual with minimal make-up and loose hair.
Vanessa is fronting the new Coco Coccon collection for the brand this year, but it’s not the first time she’s been associated with Chanel.
The actress has frequently chosen to walk the red carpet dressed in ChanelL, and in 2004 Karl made her the ambassadress of the “Ligne Cambon” handbag range. The following year, the designer asked her to pose again, this time for the “New Mademoiselle” bags.

Yesterday we reported that Cheryl Cole was being paid £250,000 to perform at the De Grisogono jewellery dinner party at the Eden Rock Hotel in Cap d’Antibes during the Cannes Film Festival.
And last night, wearing a strapless Roberto Cavalli dress and jewellery from de Grisogono, she did her thing singing ‘Fight for This Love‘, ‘Three Words‘, ‘Parachutes’, and a new song, ‘Stand Up’.
The singer was escorted at the event attended by the likes of Naomi Campbell by the head of the company, Fawaz Gruosi and we have to say we think she really stands out as one of the best dressed of the festival.
Keep reading for for our daily Cannes Festival round-up.

The Cannes film festival isn’t just about premiers and movies, it’s also a time for celebs to let their hair down at after parties and anniversary celebrations.
And last night’s Chopard 150th anniversary party was no different. Stars turned out in their hundreds dressed up to celebrate in style.
IT girl Nicky Hilton went for a white frock, similar to those displayed at the Chanel SS2010 shows while Paris looked gorgeous in blue. And even Lindsay Lohan turned up to the event looking sophisticated in a short white dress complete with on-trend shoulder beading.
Myleene Klass went for something that little bit different in a puff dress and yellow heels while we think Kate Beckinsdale stole the show in her asymmetrical pink frock.
Check out the gallery for the all celeb Chopard styles.

We may be well into the Cannes Film Festival 2010 but it hasn’t stopped celebrities making an effort with their frocks, in fact as the days go on the dresses just seem to be getting better, and in some cases bigger too.
The Biutiful premier, which took place yesterday saw a huge variety of frocks from the straight and elegant to the big and not so Biutiful.
Naomi Watts as always wowed in a boatneck black long frock, which she teamed up with minimal make-up for the simple yet elegant look. Helena Mattson also opted for this style and dressed it up with 50s style hair and make-up.
Kate Beckinsdale took the red carpet look to racey new heights with her black luxe dress complete with high split and Naomi Campbell went for a mosaic gold sequined dress.
However while slinky dictated the main fashion theme others went for something completely different. Fan Bing Bing opted for the traditional yet tiresome white bridal inspired frock while Adrianna Karembeu went for a grey version of this theme.
Take a look at the gallery and tell us who was your best dressed.
