Someone come and hide our credit cards now.
Having a shoe fetish we think we’re in huge trouble after seeing Christian Louboutin’s AW 2011/2012 range and we’re not sure we’ll be able to stop ourselves from clicking on the “buy” button.
The range this year is as fierce as ever. The studded heels in black as well as gold are by far our favourites but we also love the more delicate spider gemmed sandals as well as the satin shoes.
If you’ve been a good girl this year then we suggest revising that Christmas list to Santa right now, after all every girl needs a pair of these red soled lovlues in their wardrobes.

Jessica Simpson’s past fashion mistakes have helped her become a better designer.
The singer and actress cringes when she looks back on some of her previous fashion faux pas but says her mistakes have helped her to create the best clothing possible for her Jessica Simpson line of clothes and shoes.
She explained to People magazine: “There are a lot of things I’ve worn and look back on and think, ‘Oh, my’. When it comes to beauty, I think a big misconception is the tanner you are, the more beautiful you are. It’s not always true. I look back on a lot of pictures where I’m really tan, and I’m like, ‘Whoa!’
“I’m in all those meetings. I know the zipper pulls, I know what you’re going to be purchasing next spring. I know what’s going to be trending. It’s really fun to take all those meetings and try and play great guessing games of what the public’s going to buy.”
Jessica also revealed she hates spending too much money on cosmetic products which is why she has teamed up with skincare expert Nerida Joy to introduce BeautyMint, an affordable line sold on the internet.
The pregnant popstar said: “We go to department stores and we have no idea what these people are telling us. We just know to get the ‘it’ product because it’s working on this A-list celebrity. It’s kind of like you’re spending too much money on something you don’t really know.”

Daisy Lowe believes you have to be fearless to be a model.
The 22-year-old daughter of Pearl Lowe and Gavin Rossdale loves her job but says a sense of adventure is a definite plus when trying to get ahead in the fashion industry.
She explained to Live magazine: “I’m fearless when I need to be. In my work I’ve not been known turn down a challenge.
“I’ve posed naked a few times now, and that doesn’t bother me. I’ve done some mad shoots with the US photographer Steven Klein where I’ve hung off a giant crane ad jumped naked into a tub of slime.
“I recently did a shoot that involved four huge snakes crawling all over my body. I spent the whole day fretting about it. On the day itself I didn’t want them to smell my fear in case they decided to bite me.”
Despite her hugely successful career which has involved walking the catwalk for Chanel, Daisy admitted she actually “always wanted to become a “forensic scientist”.
She added: “I’ve always had a very analytical mind and science was my best subject at school. I haven’t completely ruled out the idea of doing something like that when I’m older.”

Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen is up for the "Designer of the Year" award
This year’s ultimate who’s who of fashion begins as we’ve just discovered who the nominees are for 2011′s British Fashion Awards. Get ready, girls and boys..
The coveted “Designer of the Year” award has three potential nominees: Sarah Burton, who has taken over the helm at Alexander McQueen’s since her predeccessor’s death, Christopher Kane whose collections featured liquid-looking plastic and crochet dresses and Erdem, whose dresses have a delicate fairy-like beauty.
“Designer Brand of The Year” has four designers vying for the award. Burberry, one of London’s favourite fashion houses, is nominated, as is our very own Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham, whose latest collections have proved that the ex Spice Girl is more than just another famous name tacked onto a fashion project. They will all be going up against the right honorable Tom Ford, who has recently returned to designing womenswear.
“Model of the Year” is between Georgia Jagger, Stella Tennant and Kristen McMenamy. Our money is on Jagger to win – our very own little Brigitte Bardot.
Nominated for the the “Accessory Designer” award is Emma Hill for Mulberry, along with Katie Hillier and shoe designer Charlotte Olympia. We adore all three, but how could Mulberry not bag the award? We’ll have to wait and see to find out if we’re right.
This has been such an exciting season for fashion, and we absolutely cannot wait to see who’s going to snatch the most prestigious awards. The British fashion industry is magical, and we can’t wait to see so many of our favourite names honoured with the awards.
To read the full list of nominations, see
here.

Amy Winehouse’s designs for label Fred Perry could be released posthumously.
The British streetwear company – famed for their iconic polo shirts, synonymous with teenagers of the 60s and 70s and the early Skinhead moment – had collaborated with the singer, who died suddenly on Saturday (23.07.11), on two successful collections and say they have three in the Fred Perry x Amy Winehouse range which could potentially be released.
Whether the garments will be made and sold, however, has yet to be decided, as the brand is planning to approach her family for input.
A spokesperson for the brand said: “Everything is on hold until we speak with Amy’s family and management.”
Amy was said to have been fully involved with the design of her collections, the first of which was a 50s inspired set which included twinsets, gingham, pencil skirts and capri pants in October 2010.
She then collaborated on a follow up Spring/Summer collection which was Hawaiian-inspired and launched in March this year.
Richard Martin, a marketing manager from Fred Perry, told Harper’s Bazaar Amy was a “delight” to work with.
He said: “Bright, passionate, and dedicated, with strong ideas of exactly what it was that she wanted from the range. Detailing, fabrics-she was all over it.”
The three collections Amy designed for Fred Perry could are enough for the label to release through until late next year.

Karl Lagerfeld’s capsule collection for Macy’s will be “quintessential Lagerfeld”.
The Chanel designer has collaborated with the department store to create a new affordable range set to launch in August and although the clothes will have an average price tag of $100, they will reflect his usual lavish style.
Jeff Gennette, Macy’s Inc.’s chief merchandising officer told WWD: “It’s quintessential Lagerfeld but done at affordable prices. It’s really focused on statement jackets, tweeds, novelty fabrics, and dresses. They’re the type you can see them from a distance and know they’re Karl’s.”
The collection is a “contemporary spin” on Karl’s signature designs with 45 limited edition styles and Macy’s have promised the creations will be accessible because he understands his target audience.
Nicole Fischelis, Macy’s group vice president and fashion director said: “There’s a contemporary spin on his signature aesthetic, with versatile, easy-to-wear pieces with a modern twist. I’ve known Karl for a very long time. He is not just about fashion. He is all about style. With Karl, it was a very easy process. You could be intimidated, but he is so amazing. He is very reachable, sharp and funny. We met with him and he knew who we wanted to reach. He gets it. He understands America very, very well. Everything is very easy with him. He is so quick. The way he designs and the way he thinks are just as fast as the way he talks.”
Martine Reardon, Macy’s executive vice president of marketing and advertising added: “There really wasn’t a lot of back and forth. We had more problems trying to edit it all. He had so many great ideas.”

Karl Lagerfeld loves using feathers in his designs.
The Chanel designer is a huge fan of the plumage of birds including ostriches, peacocks and cockerals and most recently used them to add lightness to his collection of cocktail dresses, where he had feathers painstakingly embroidered into the fragile fabric of the clothes.
He told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “They are more flattering than fur, I think. And I love the way they soften a line.”
Although Karl usually communicates by fax machine, he admitted he has had to turn to more modern ideas to run his business because no one else has a fax anymore.
On swapping his old method for an iPhone, he explained “That is obsolete now, people don’t have them anymore. So I need to learn this thing.
“I relented when Colette issued an iPhone case with a silhouette of me on it. How could I not have that.”

Christopher Kane wants all his collections to be different.
The designer – who counts the likes of Alexa Chung, Leighton Meester and Freida Pinto among his celebrity fans – admits he gets “bored easily” so is always coming up with new ideas for his creations because he enjoys a challenge.
He told Stylist magazine: “Every season I design a very different collection to the last because I like to learn new techniques. I get bored easily so I feel I have to move on. The pressure of that is good because it keeps me on the straight and narrow.”
Christopher also says he appreciates criticisms because he thinks it makes him a better designer and is always willing to learn from his mistakes.
He said: “It’s good to have criticism – I had a lot at college and it didn’t hurt me, it built my confidence.
“Our business has made mistakes along the way. I’m young and not very patient. One minute I love something and the next I hate it. But I don’t regret anything.”

Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson are teaming up for a new clothing line.
The singing sisters are to collaborate on a line of tween apparel featuring sportswear, denim and activewear in their first fashion venture together, which will be part of the Jessica Simpson Collection.
Jessica – whose fashion empire is set to be worth an estimated $1 billion this year – told WWD: “Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand. I’m excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today’s tweens.”?
Ashlee hopes her venture into fashion will be inspirational for young girls wanting to experiment with their personal style.
She said: “My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion.”
Jessica is set to see her empire expand further this year, with new ready-to-wear and career separates lines also planned.
When she launched the collection, she sold just handbags, shoes and boots, but gradually expanded to include watches, clothing, cosmetics, luggage, fragrances and swimwear, which is all sold in major department stores in the US.

Nicole Richie owns over 200 pairs of sunglasses.
The reality TV star-turned-designer – whose House of Harlow accessories line carries the eyewear – is often voted one of the world’s most stylish women and admits she has a huge number of shades to help accessorise her fashionable outfits.
She told Teen Vogue magazine: “I view them as fun masks to accessorise your face. In my defence, I make sunglasses, so I have to research-shop, and I own every pair I’ve ever designed.”
Nicole is well known for her signature bohemian look and says she relies on extras to transform her wardrobe staples of jeans and a T-shirt into something special.
She explained: “You change the look with accessories. And by accessories, I mean sunglasses, head scarves, shoes, bed jackets.
“I’m always missing that in-between layer. On the West Coast, you don’t need a full jacket, but you want something more than just a tank.”
The designer also creates footwear but says because she is only 5ft 2in she is more interested in comfort than style.
She said: “Comfort takes precedence for me. These are super-high, but because they have a built-in platform, they don’t feel like it.
“I am not that girl who can do super-arched heels. All the shoes I design have a cushion and a platform.”

Carrying on with our archive galleries of our very favourite designers and their best designs, today we’re going to look at Louis Vuitton, one of France’s most loved and celebrated design houses. Even if you’re not familiar with their collections, you’ll probably know what their luxury handbags and luggage looks like – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to some truly gorgeous work.
We’ve got a lot to thank Louis Vuitton for – three cheers for the fashion house that brought womanly curves back into vogue with a now unforgettable Autumn/Winter 2010 collection, which featured the likes of Lara Stone and Elle MacPherson wiggling down the runway in staggeringly sexy nipped-in 1950s dresses and two-piece suits. And thus the ladylike trend was born, one of the most flattering trends to have surfaced for a while.
We also fell hard for their 2011 spring/summer collection which showed an opulent range of oriental-inspired silk prints, and their delightfully silly 2010 collection filled with florals, bows, fluff and afro wigs galore. This is truly a fashion house that never fails to surprise us. Have a look at our favourite LV moments in the gallery above.
