Check out Lindsay Lohan’s latest cover for Vogue España‘s August issue. The actress has surprised many, myself included, when she decided to don a Marilyn Monroe platinum wig again to channel the screen icon for the glossy shoot. After her previous disaster, when she recreated Monroe’s “The Last Sitting” for NY Magazine, you can’t help but wonder why?
No doubt she’ll cop even more flack for this latest effort, although having now seen the finished results I’m not quite so dark on her. For example, the image (above, right) where she is dressed in Thierry Mugler is actually quite fierce. Almost Gaga-inspired.

Screen queen Kate Winslet has landed herself another glossy cover, this time for US Harper’s Bazaar’s August ’09 issue. The Oscar-winning actress was photographed by Peter Lindbergh suspended on a tower with New York acting as the stunning backdrop. For the shoot, she dons Burberry, Michael Kors, and Yves Saint Laurent. I just love that white floaty Ralph Lauren dress on her (above right) don’t you?

She may have labelled “too toothy” by Anna Wintour once, but that hasn’t stopped the Vogue editor by featuring Sienna Miller on her cover for a second time. The British actress has landed the July ’09 cover of the glossy style bible. Given some serious hair extensions, Sienna looks slick in a one-shouldered custom red silk dress by Calvin Klein. Photographed by Craig McDean, she also wears designs by Alexander Wang, Nina Ricci and Gucci.
Check out more from her editorial, after the jump…

Much has been made over that Harper’s Bazaar cover starring Angelina Jolie (pictured left) in the past few days. Everyone from readers to journalists to bloggers have been left unimpressed by the magazine’s decision to feature a photo agency picture of the actress on their July cover.
Indeed, even yours truly has been left rather stumped by this choice to use a Getty red carpet photo instead of the usual stylised photo-shoot image. As if that wasn’t strange enough, there isn’t even an interview with Ange inside the mag, just an essay written by Naomi Wolf about the actress. As some have put it, it’s bordering on tabloid.

It seems that Rihanna cover for Vogue is in jeopardy in the aftermath of those nude photos of her and Chris Brown that were recently leaked onto the internet.
The singing superstar was approached by Anna Wintour to star in an upcoming issue of the glossy mag. They were reportedly “thick as thieves” at the Met Costume Gala last month.
“Anna told her Vogue absolutely loves her and really wanted to work with her. Rihanna was ecstatic,” a source told Star magazine.
However, it is now believed that the editrix has retracted her offer in response to the photos that were allegedly taken by Brown, although he denies it.
“Anna hasn’t returned any of her calls. Rihanna’s so upset… She hopes the people at Vogue change their minds,” the source added.
And so their turbulent relationship has cost Rihanna again. Shame!

Cameron Diaz has surprised many a fashion follower by landing the June ’09 issue of Vogue. Criticisms are already flying about what the actress has done lately to warrant the highly sought after cover spot on the style bible. Regardless of this fact, Cameron sat down with the magazine to discuss the trials of shooting her latest film, My Sister’s Keeper, and her father’s sudden death last year.
“I think, emotionally … it definitely took its toll. Definitely. It’s the human experience. You know, that’s what the heart does. Things are given to us, and things are taken away. And I think the heart becomes stronger, more capable,” she said.

From Catwalk Queen…
In the lead-up to the MET Costume Institute Gala next month, Vogue has paid tribute to ‘The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion’ – this year’s gala theme. Photographed by Steven Meisel, the lucky models to land the cover include (from left to right): Liya Kebede, Natalia Vodianova, Anna Maria Jagodzinska, Isabeli Fontana, Lara Stone, Jourdan Dunn, Raquel Zimmermann, Caroline Trentini, and Natasha Poly. It also is the third consecutive American Vogue cover to feature a black woman (Michelle Obama and Beyonce were the previous two). But what really has me excited is what’s inside the issue – an editorial shoot starring this year’s gala co-chairs Kate Moss, Justin Timberlake and Marc Jacobs (but more on that later!).

Representing the “Shape issue” is Beyonce, who has been photographed by Mario Testino for the April ’09 cover of Vogue. It’s the second time this year that Anna Wintour has chosen a black woman for the cover (Michelle Obama was the first for the March ’09 issue). With the headline “Real women have curves, Beyonce at her best”, it’s great to see the 27-year-old land the cover, but might I casually remind Ms Wintour that real women come in all wonderful shapes, and not solely of the curvy variety.

Love or hate the September ’08 cover of U.S. Vogue, you will still want to watch this behind-the-scenes look at Keira Knightley‘s shoot with Mario Testino in Berlin (if only to restore your faith in Mario and Keira, that they can, in fact, take a good photo between them!) It’s also interesting to hear Keira talk about getting “into character” and coming up with a “scenario in her head” before she shoots a photo. Watch to find out who she’s channeling in her September Vogue editorial…

Following dwindling sales in April and May, the pressure riding on the September ’08 issue of American Vogue has been fairly high. As previously reported, Anna Wintour chose Keira Knightley for the cover, which has been shot by Mario Testino. So far, public reaction to the cover hasn’t been favourable. Fashion fans don’t seem to be warming to the British actress and her messy hair, and not even her Balenciaga outfit is winning her much praise. This, coupled with the fact that the issue has slimmed down from 725 pages, from the same time last year, to 674 pages due to a drop in ad sales, and things don’t seem to be sitting too pretty right now for Wintour and co.

Had enough of Sarah Jessica Parker this week? Well too bad because making ripples on the web overnight was her June ’08 cover for US Vogue to coincide with the release of Sex and the City: the movie. Everyone seems to be talking about it, mainly because you can see the lines on her face… *gasp, faint!* Imagine that… a 43-year-old woman with lines on her face? I am more interested in her open-mouthed pose. I can’t help but wonder, is she trying to imitate Coco Rocha?
More pics from the stunning shoot, photographed by Annie Leibovitz, which also stars Chris Noth (Mr Big), after the cut…
