It’s time to revise that Christmas list with the launch of an exclusive capsule collection by Victoria Beckham for designer site Net-a-Porter.
The range described by Victoria as “chic, timeless and elegant” consists of five of Ms B’s best selling SS 2011 and AW 2011 dresses, all of which have been revamped especially for the website
However, you better hope your OH wins the lottery as the range doesn’t come cheap with a mark of between £1,050 and £1,950. And you also better hope he’s super speedy as many of them have sold out. Let’s hope the real Santa comes to our rescue.
We’re big fans of online shopping over here at ShinyStyle, scrap that, who are we kidding, we’re huge, hide our credit cards away fans.
So you can imagine what we’re like when we log onto Yogoego. For those not familiar with the brand, think Asos, mixed with a little bit of originality and add some designer dust in there too.
In fact this site is great for everyone with a mix of on-trend affordable summer clothes such as maxi dresses, T-shirts and trousers, and designer lovelies for those of you feeling a little bit flush. Get that overdraft sorted and log on for some serious spending.
Chloe has been one of the most-referenced labels when it’s come to the camel trend this Autumn/Winter with their offering of 70s silhouttes, fabrics in camels and gold and sexy Farrah Fawcett-style hair. Well, fast-forward a couple of decades and you’ve just about arrived at the French label’s Spring/Summer collection, which was very nineties and minimalist
The order of the day seemed to be clean, simple – but not prissy – shapes, the best of which was the funnel-necked princess coat which was sent down the runway in both scarlet and cream with some beautifully ladylike gold buttons, fashion’s favourite fastener at the moment.
While everyone’s favourite camel tones were not completely absent from the collection, in the form of buttery-looking leather crop tops and coffee-coloured pleated chiffon, like many designers at the moment Chloe seemed to be repping their love for good old-fashioned Parisian monochrome in cream and black separates. Having said that, the collection was far from generic, with fashion creative director Hannah MacGibbon really making it Chloe’s own. Curve accentuating pencil skirts and pleated chiffon were teamed up with boxy leather crop tops, deliciously girly sheer midi-skirts were worn with extremely mini miniskirts underneath and the classic high-waisted shorts style was vamped up with hella black leather.

Germany-based fashion label Jil Sander may not be famous for frivolity or jolliness in their designs, being especially famous for extreme minimalism and extreme tailoring, but they showed everybody in Milan that they’re ready to have a bit off fun next S/S, too.
It was a fun, modern show, as the models stomped down the catwalk with slicked-back hair and bubblegum coloured lips. While in the past, the brand has favoured very neutral, minimalist shades like stone, cream and grey, creative director Raf Simons’ seems to have opted for statement block colours of shocking pink, orange and electric blue, florals and geometric stripes. The classic Jil Sander shapes were still there, however – teeny and fitted on top, with explosions of volume in the form of maxi skirts and wide-legged trousers.
If you thought maxi-skirts looked dowdy before you saw this collection, you won’t anymore. Jil Sander’s SS2011 collection is going to be the most fun way to work volume, length and colour next Spring.
We can now follow in the style steps of Cindy Crawford, America Ferrara (when she’s not Ugly Betty) and Blake Lively thanks to House of Frasers new autumn/winter range.
The highstreet store has teamed up with Kenneth Cole New York to exclusively offer us Brits a taste of the designers modern tailoring, smart outerwear and refined casual wear.
The range will be available in 20 stores nationwide and online and includes the diffusion line Kenneth Cole Reaction.
We love the way the collection updates traditional trends, especially the way the humble work shirt has been changed to white poplin and re-designed with an elegant frill-fronted trim.
We also like the dresses in shades of cherry red or black, which will look great worn with cropped leather jackets with a military twist.
And not forgetting the animal printed chiffons, which transport us straight into the 80s power dressing trend of this year.
The H&M at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 51st St. was a madhouse today with the premiere of the Roberto Cavalli collection with the designer himself making a personal appearance at the location. A line began forming outside the store at 7 p.m. last night, and crowds of people camped out over the freezing cold night for the 8 a.m. special store opening. Store clerks told stories of girls running into the store and just grabbing everything in site and making a mad dash for the dressing room to sort out their treasures. One girl (and possibly more) in tears after falling face first onto the floor as she ran. One shopper, Vielka featured in the video above, arrived a couple hours late to the scene only to find barely any Roberto Cavalli apparel left. She was able to scrounge up a few choice pieces like Cavalli’s signature leopard print underwear and stylish black scarf. Continue to the jump for more pics of the store featuring Roberto Cavalli decor.
