Doo.Ri to do more affordable line

Perhaps designing those white shirts for the Gap gave designer Doo-Ri Chung the bug for budget fashion, because she’s launching an as-yet named affordable extension line in the next year.

“I have been thinking about this for a really long time,” Chung told WWD. “Within my own collection there is a great need to have a wider price range. A second line allows me to do that.”

The line will focus on what Chung is known for – jersey, draping and feminine silhouettes – featuring patterns similar to those in the main collection.

CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund nominees announced

The 10 finalists for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund honors have been announced, WWD is reporting. This year’s haute hopefulls are Phillip Lim of 3.1 Phillip Lim; Scott Sternberg of Band of Outsiders; Erin Fetherston of Fetherston Design Group; Nunthirat Koi Suwannagate of Koi; Rogan Gregory of Rogan; Gabriel Asfour, Angela Donhauser and Adi Gil of Threeasfour; Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai of Vena Cava; Victoria Bartlett of VPL; Michael Bastian, and Philip Crangi of Philip Crangi Jewelry. Get to know those names, because they’ll be sure to have increased coverage in Vogue, whose editor in chief, Anna Wintour, above, helps helm the awards.
