Tabitha Somerset Webb wants Duchess Catherine to wear one of her Project D designs.

By Andrea Petrou on December 14th, 2011

Tabitha Somerset Webb wants Duchess Catherine to wear one of her Project D designs.

The 36-year-old fashion designer – who co-created the clothing line alongside Dannii Minogue – is thrilled that Pippa Middleton has worn their pieces on two occasions this year, and is hopeful her older sister will soon follow suit.

She said: “Pippa has been amazing. It’s so flattering that she has chosen to wear our dresses. She looks gorgeous in them. She’s very much a Project D girl – elegant, classy and sexy.

“Now it would be great if her sister Kate wore one of our designs, too.”

However, Pippa – who wore Project D gowns to a friend’s wedding in September and to a recent charity event – is not the only royal fan of the line, as Tabitha explained Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have also worn her creations to public functions.

Tabitha added in an interview with HELLO! magazine: “Princess Beatrice wore our red Crystal dress to Prince Philip’s 90th birthday party and Eugenie ordered our floral Lily gown for another private event.”

Duchess Catherine goes for bee sting facial following recommendations from Duchess Camilla

By Andrea Petrou on November 28th, 2011

Britain’s Duchess Catherine is taking beauty tips from her stepmother-in-law.

The newest member of the royal family – who married Prince William in April – has been receiving treatments from Deborah Mitchell after Duchess Camilla, the wife of Prince Charles, recommended the beautician’s bee sting facial.

A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: “Deborah has been treating Camilla for six years now. Like any customer who finds something good, Camilla has told her friends and in-laws, including Kate. Now she visits the Royal Family wherever they are in residence. They are lovely to her.”

As well as her treatments, Deborah is known for her bee venom mask – which contains manuka honey, shea butter, rose and lavender essential oils, a “secret” ingredient and around one per cent bee venom – which tricks the skin’s surface into thinking it has been stung, increasing blood flow, collagen and elasticity.

Famous fans of the product are said to include Victoria Beckham, Michelle Preiffer and Kylie Minogue.

Deborah said: “They were discovering the more they did Botox, the more their faces did not match their body language and viewers found them difficult to trust.

“This pushes out those wrinkles and gives a smooth, supple look and feel to the skin – as opposed to the frozen-face look associated with Botox.”

Deborah, 46, refused to discuss her relationship with Camilla and Catherine.

She said: “I’m afraid I cannot talk about that.”

Mary Portas agrees with ShinyStyle and says Duchess Catherine does not have a particularly good sense of fashion

By Andrea Petrou on October 12th, 2011

Duchess Catherine has had her sense of style slammed by shopping expert Mary Portas.

The flame-haired television personality – who is renowned for her strong sense of style, punctuated with covered arms, big shoulders and statement colours – has echoed what we at ShinyStyle were saying months ago – she does not think Catherine, who was recently asked to pose for the cover of US Vogue, has a particularly good sense of fashion.

She said: “I think Duchess Catherine has done an incredible job globally, but I do not know how you can say she is a fashion icon. I just don’t get that.”

When asked what does make an icon, she responded: “A unique sense of style. End of. Don’t you think?”

However, the British royal is not the only star to come under Mary’s fire – she also thinks Cheryl Cole’s time in Los Angeles, where she was a judge on the US version of ‘X Factor’ for four auditions, was misaligned.

She said to Heat magazine: “That was really wrong wasn’t it? There was that massive hair and then the tiny body. It was really just a wrong move.”
