Fashion Week may be over for the Yanks, with the fun having crossed over the pond to Laaahn-dahn, but that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing going on in the States, oh no – in fact, while we were all poring over the latest Henry Holland collection on the Vogue site last night, apparently a little something called the Emmy Awards was going on..
All the long-standing Hollywood superstars were there as well as the young talent: I don’t know if Lea Michele was trying to copy Kate Winslet, who’s clearly been in the red-carpet game for a long time, or what, but the young Glee actress turned up smouldering in a simple scarlet evening dress that was actually very similar to Kate’s Emmy dress. We hope they hit each other with their handbags later in the evening.
Another Glee star in attendance was the adorable Jayma Mays, who was definitely channelling a ballerina vibe in her long ruffled and tiered sugar-pink gown which worked perfectly with her strawberry-blonde hair and berry lips. Following suit with a romantic, feminine look was Heidi Klum with her hubby Seal, showing off a crazy post-summer tan in a statement ruffled nude cocktail dress.
Opting for a more classic Hollywood vibe (it is the Emmys, after all) was the beautiful Christina Hendricks, who, fresh from causing a stir with her impressive cleavage at the première of I Don’t Know How She Does It last week, smouldered last night in an incredible slit-skirt silver evening gown covered in crystalline embellishments for a look reminiscent of old movie stars like Jean Harlow. We love. To be honest, we’re so obsessed with the woman that we might go dye our hair red and eat a tub of Ben & Jerry’s right now.
Also taking the old Hollywood fashion path was Gwyneth Paltrow, who showed off her enviably tight abs in a floor-sweeping black beaded dress with a cutout at the midriff. Pretty much all we need to say about that is that Gwynnie looked in-cred-i-ble.

It was a star studded night on Sunday as celebrities hit the red carpet for the 62nd Emmy Awards, and we’re pleased to say there wasn’t a bad frock in sight.
Glee star Lea Michelle wowed in a stunning Oscar de la Renta mermaid dress, complete with ruffles and a sweetheart neckline, while reality TV star Kim Kardashian sparkled in a white floaty Marchesa Grecian gown, which she teamed up with a loose updo. Heidi Klum also opted for this designer, but unlike Kim, she went for a black mini frock, which showed off those super toned pins.
True Blood star Anna Paquin kept it smart and gave a nod to the 50s in an avant garde Alexander McQueen dress, and even Tina Fey, whose style can be somewhat, iffy, stepped up looking lovely in a fitted funky print Oscar de la Renta frock. Mad Max starlet Christina Hendricks stood out in a purple chiffon frock complete with feather detailed sleeves by Zac Posen and Brit babe Emily Blunt also channelled this colour with a cute asymmetric long dress complete with jewel detailing.
January Jones, who is well known for her quirky style, didn’t disappoint with an electric-blue Versace frock with Madonna-style cone-bra cups and a mullet skirt, while Claire Danes looked sophisticated in a sparkly Armani Prive straight frock.
Black was also a trend for a few celebrities with both Eva Longoria and Kelly Osbourne opting for sleek, yet sophisticated black mermaid frocks in this staple colour.

Winners for Outstanding Comedy Series (take that, crappy, canned-laugh comedies everywhere!) “30 Rock” stars Jane Krakowski and Tina Fey make us smile as much with their Emmy looks as they do with their savvy wit. The girls look gorgeous and glowing, perhaps because they probably just secured their hilarious series a third season. As one of the best role models for women on television right now, star and executive producer Tina proves that you can look pretty AND wear glasses AND be just vain enough not to wear them to the Emmy’s, and be smart, sexy, and at the top of your industry at the same time.

The women of “Heroes” looked young and fresh at the Emmy Awards tonight, and really added to the excitement for the show’s impending return. New to the cast is Kristen Bell,at left, who hinted to E that her superpower will be something electric while trading witty reparte with another Kristin favorite of ours. Maybe her best-kept secret as underage supersleuth Veronica Mars (may she rest in peace) was hiding her hotness. Hayden Panettiere, far right, chose perhaps the riskiest selection, the golden Marc Bouwer gown might be a little too baby-doll, but at her age she can pull it off. Then, knocking the little girls out of the ring, at center, with her va-va-voom Reem Acra ensemble is Ali Larter. Killer dress, babe, it almost makes up for your killer powers on the show.
