David Beckham is following the footsteps of his wife Victoria, who’s now pretty much a fully-fledged designer in New York, and turning his hand to design himself – but instead of sportswear, which is what we’d expect the guy to be designing, he’s actually designing underwear after appearing in a campaign for Emporio Armani briefs.
And you thought he’d be designing the same kinds of tighty-whities he’s always seen smouldering in on billboards, you’re wrong – he’s actually designing old fashioned long-johns. Apparently David Beckham looooves a pair of old-school grandpa-style long johns! Who the hell knew!
When explaining his unusual choice of design for the new collection, David said: “I sometimes wear them to go to sleep. They’re very cool.” Bless him.
A source close to David spoke out about the footballer’s new underwear plans: “David is 35 and knows he won’t be playing soccer forever. But he’s an icon for men all over the world and he wears pants like no one can – so it makes sense for him to launch his own.”
Well, we’re glad that Victoria is around to help him out with his designs and try to sex up long-johns a little bit. We don’t want all our boyfriends to follow suit and start going to bed looking like our grandpa.

We’re excited to reveal that our favourite Bajan princess Rihanna is moving further into the fashion world – and she’s now the face of Armani.
The curvy beauty is set to become the face of Emporio Armani underwear and Armani jeans for Autumn/Winter 2011-12, and you can check out the steamy photos for the new campaign right here in the gallery above. How good does Ri-Ri look in these photos?
What do you think of the singer’s new ambassadorship for the brand? Is it a yay or a nay? For us it’s a yay, yay, yay.

Milan Fashion Week
By Andrea Petrou on September 27th, 2010
Emporio Armani’s SS2011 look was all about layering.
The designer sent models down the catwalk in striped jersey dresses complete with tulle underlays and worn with blazers.
And blazers formed a staple part of the collection some were structured, some had contrasting collars and lapels and others were cropped. All were teamed up with heavy necklaces, which completed the smart/casual looks
Bottom part designs included tailored silk trousers and skinny shorts, while the layered theme continued into the evening with floaty tops, shiny dresses and sheer jackets in bright colours such as green and pinks marching down the runway.
A nice collection but we’re afraid to say there have so far been others that we have preferred.

Brad Pitt and Angelina made it clear that they’ve got their mojo back at Graumann’s Chinese Theatre for the Los Angeles première of Angelina’s new film “Salt”, and are more of a power couple than ever – while recently in the past, the pair have appeared in public looking tired, tense and strained, yesterday on the red carpet they appeared more in love than ever.
Despite being under criticism for her skinny frame in the past couple of years, Ange looked healthy and radiant in a black, shimmering tube dress from Emporio Armani, with glamour-puss curls and Brigitte Bardot makeup. Other celebrities were copying her look – The Ring actress Naomi Watts wore an almost identical dress in silver. How embarrassing, Naomi. Brad was also looking his old handsome self, having traded in the dodgy mousy hair and beard (yay, he looks like Brad Pitt again) for cool Miami Vice-style aviator shades and classic men’s tailoring in his Tom Ford suit.
Seeing this must be a bit of a kick in the teeth for Jennifer Aniston – Brangelina are looking as hot as they did when they first started getting it on for “Mr and Mrs Smith”. Maybe they look so good because there’s a sequel in the pipeline?

Milan Fashion Week
By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on September 22nd, 2008
Well, fashion week has moved to Milan and so does our attention. Unfortunately, we’ve seen nothing to really perk our interest yet!
The Emporio Armani girl is very covered up for spring 2009 with lots of long sleeves and pants. Oddly, this is combined with a lot of resorty pieces and swimwear. In this respect and more, the collection seems a little lost. The pants continued the trend of volume at the hips and – gasp – pleats! There were also cropped and harem-style offerings. All this despite the worldwide shortage of women who can pull-off these styles. One pair featured a slouchy, wide-leg silhouette and we just wish more had followed this pattern. Many of the pants were paired with rather matronly, oddly-cut jackets. As for red carpet gowns we love Emporio Armani for, there was only one standout – a beautiful butterfly number.

Milan designers showed diverse looks from casual to formal over the weekend as Milan Fashion Week kicked off, as you can see above. Roberto Cavalli stuck with what worked for his Cavalli collection for his younger Just Cavalli line as well – his classic 70′s vibe. It’s always interesting to see European designers borrowing heavily from American themes, such as this hippie-chic look and Chanel’s stars and stripes, since so often European design is considered somehow artistically more sophisticated than what comes out of the states.
Read on for more on Emprio Armani and Missoni.
