Eva Green believes shamed John Galliano will make a triumphant return to the fashion world

By Andrea Petrou on October 6th, 2011

Eva Green believes John Galliano will make a triumphant return to the fashion world.

The designer was recently found guilty of racist and anti-Semitic behaviour and was sacked from Dior and his eponymous label John Galliano but the actress knows we haven’t seen the last of him.

Eva – a long-term friend of Galliano’s – told vogue.co.uk: “He will make a comeback, I just know it. He is so very talented. He’s in the same line as McQueen and Gaultier in that he’s very theatrical and dramatic. Human beings are allowed to make mistakes.”

Eva – who starred as the face of Christian Dior’s Midnight Poison fragrance in 2007 when John was still at the helm – has previously said the sartorialist’s actions were very out of character for him.

She said: “I haven’t spoken to him. It’s difficult to talk about this subject, because I don’t really know what happened. He is extremely fragile, a very sensitive, creative person with a great sense of humour and he’s always been so kind to me. He’s very shy. I adore him. It’s been very brutal and I really…I just wish he could go back in time and for it not to happen.

“I’m sure he’s going to get back [in to fashion] because he’s so talented. Sometimes, you can make mistakes. I don’t think he’s anti-Semitic. I’m Jewish. I don’t think he has anything against the Jews. I think it’s more that he was probably a bit drunk.”

Sienna Miller has donated her favourite shoes to charity

By emilyborrett on August 18th, 2011

The actress Sienna Miller has donated her favourite pairs of shoes to the charity “Small Steps Project”, which raises awareness of children in Cambodia working on landfill sites.

Along with other celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Colin Firth and Eva Green, Sienna will be auctioning off her very favourite shoes, with the profit going to the Small Steps Project, at the Royal Society of Medicine on the 12th of October.

The charity was started by celebrity journalist Amy Hanson, who was shocked by the poverty and living conditions in Cambodia when she visited in 2008. She said about her time there: “When I went to Cambodia, I witnessed huge landfills filled with our waste and excess packaging where the local children would look for scraps to sell in order to support their families. Ideally we want to raise enough money to get the children away from the rubbish dumps and into schools, but for now we’re focusing on providing durable boots to prevent the children from harming themselves with the shards of glass and sharp objects on the ground.”

A very worthy cause. If you happen to be the same shoe size as Sienna, and you’ve got money to burn then get down to that auction in October!

Eva Green wishes John Galliano could turn back time

By Andrea Petrou on June 8th, 2011

Eva Green wishes John Galliano could turn back time.

The actress is friends with the designer – who will stand trial in Paris on June 22 on charges of verbally abusing three people with anti-Semitic and racist slurs on two separate occasions earlier this year – and while she is not defending his actions, she says his behaviour was very out of character.

She told The Observer: “I haven’t spoken to him.

Eva also believes the couple who filmed the designer’s outbursts should take some responsibility.

She said: “Something must have happened to trigger the outburst. I’m very sad. He has to get better. He’s very vulnerable.”

Following the incident, John reportedly checked into The Meadows rehab clinic in Arizona after being urged to get help for his alcohol problems by Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.

Last night actors and actresses took to the red carpet for the London Evening Standard British Film Awards 2010.

Eva Green turned up at the event at the London Film Museum looking stunning in a black patterned dress where she also presented the award for best film.

However the actress best known for her role alongside Daniel Craig in the James Bond film Casino Royale, added in some of her well known eccentric style with her patent stripped shoes, which we think make her look like she stepped in two giant wasps.

But we think her little faux pas is more than made up with her hair and make-up. We think Eva looked amazing with her 20s style hair and the orange lipstick against her pale skin really gives her that flapper look.
