Bargain Pick of the Week: Ruby Rox little black dress

By Andrea Thatcher on September 27th, 2007

Ruby%20Rox%20little%20black%20dress.JPGThis Ruby Rox jewel-detail dress is a great find for the season–just $43.90! The jewel accents are very on trend as far as a touch of shine goes for fall and winter. And I really like the light layering at the bottom–that and the longer cut in the back create elegant appeal. So go ahead, look stunning for those special occasions in this sexy, but classy little black dress.

Fall Fashion Pick of the Week #1: BCBGirls Tate booties

By Andrea Thatcher on September 24th, 2007

BCBGirls%20booties.jpgFor the entire week, we’ll be selecting great fall finds to keep you on trend this season for as little bank as possible, while still looking fabulously fashionable. Today, I’ve selected these very chic BCBGirls Tate Pewter Metallic Kid leather booties at Nordstrom for $128.95. The pewter color is perfect to keep you shining strong ’80s-style without causing a melt down in too-bright silver boots. I really like the plunging collar-line–it creates a dramatic, super sleek look. Plus, the 3 3/4″ heel isn’t too high, so they’re still bearable to wear out around town. But be careful, you might want to get them in a slightly larger size, I hear they run a half size too small.

Giuseppe Zanotti serves up party-worthy flats

By Andrea Thatcher on September 18th, 2007

After summer’s slew of flats in creative colors and wild combinations, fall’s signature trends of animal prints, luxe material, and rich leathers call for a little change of pace. Slip on this pair of ultra-modern Giuseppe Zanotti flats in bold red and black. A soft suede sole and croc print trim makes it a cut above the norm to dress up any basic black, or even red, ensemble. While flats won’t do much for defining your buff calves–or giving you that model-tall look for that matter–they do offer plenty of comfort for those longer treks across the city when you don’t want to carry around a heel protector.

Bubble and baby-doll dresses are out—tight, angled styles are in

By Andrea Thatcher on August 31st, 2007

Say goodbye to dresses! This fall, gone are the shapeless shift, empire waist and trapeze dresses of the summer. The trend this season is to flaunt your feminine figure with slimming silhouettes and structured suits, jackets, and trousers in place of the dress. The leopard-print, satin shirt and pants, above, from Dolce & Gabbana represent the new sleek, fitted look. Of course, dresses will always be in style, but look for more fitted, sophisticated styles. Oh how I’m going to miss the year of the dress!
