Gwen Stefani asks kids for fashion advice

By Andrea Petrou on November 23rd, 2011

Gwen Stefani asked her children for advice on her new kids’ clothing line.

The No Doubt singer – who has two kids, Kingston, five, and two-year-old Zuma with singer Gavin Rossdale – loved the “creative” stage of designing her Harajuku Mini for Target children’s range, which includes biker jackets, skinny jeans, trainers, and backpacks – and she even got some assistance from her own youngsters.

She said: “My kids have a big opinion about it.

“I’m just excited. I think that moms’ are going to walk into Target and lose their minds – ‘Are you serious right now? And it’s $20? All right, I’m taking five.’

“I feel really proud of it. It’s fun to be creative. It’s fun to bake the cookies and have everyone eat them. It’s a great feeling.”

The blonde beauty – whose first fashion line, L.A.M.B., which consisted of shoes, watches and bags, debuted in 2003 – wanted her children’s brand to have a similar style to her signature looks over the years, but she still can’t believe the range has finally come to fruition.

She added to Access Hollywood: “I’ve been working on this thing for almost three years. So, for me, it’s like really surreal that it’s actually happening.

“I really wanted to do this so bad. Being able to make stuff for the right price point and get it out there so people can actually have access to it. This is like the ideal situation to have. It’s really exciting.

“This is really cute and really wearable. It’s so fun-the first time I went in for the fittings, and they brought out all the little mannequins-they actually have diapers on them! When you’re fitting, you’re fitting with a diaper.

“I wanted it to look like all of my signature looks that I’ve done through the years, kind of for children. I wanted to bring fashion to kids.”

Kate Moss offers Mark Ronson’s mum fashion advice at his wedding to Josephine de la Baume

By Andrea Petrou on October 3rd, 2011

Kate Moss offered Mark Ronson’s mother fashion advice at his wedding earlier this month.

The musician married model Josephine de la Baume in France recently and his mum Anne Dexter-Jones revealed style icon Kate was insistent she wear her Saint Laurent bronze platform shoes at all time because they completed her look.

She told New York Magazine: “I was wearing Saint Laurent bronze platform shoes, and it was in the countryside, so it wasn’t a dance floor, and I kept kicking them off.

“And Kate Moss, sweetly, on many occasions that night, helped me put them on again to get up and down. She said to me, ‘Ann, you have got to put your shoes on. It finishes the outfit.’”

Kate wasn’t the fashion conscious person at the wedding, Mark wore a candy-striped three-piece suit and a white shirt while the bride was stunning in an ivory, off-the-shoulder Zac Posen gown embellished with pearls and a cropped veil.

Other guests included Mark’s clothes designer sister Charlotte Ronson, model Irina Lazareanu and pop-star turned designer Lily Allen.

“Just Try it On” book launch at Bendel’s

A launch party in NYC should have four things: cocktails, cupcakes, at least one person sporting a Rihanna/Katie Holmes bob and a D-list celeb. Last night, this and more all went down at the “Gossip Girl”-like department store Henri Bendel for fashion writer Susan Redstone’s new style book, “Just Try it On!”

Redstone’s adorable 12-month guide gives smart and affordable shopping and fashion tips. Each chapter is dedicated to a different tip and month, from January’s “Your Fashion Emergency Kit” to December’s “Holiday Style and Gift Giving.”

When asked to spill a tip, Redstone picked from November and said, “avoid visible panty lines by taking Polaroids of yourself before a big red carpet event.”

Put on by PR powerhouse Lizzie Grubman, the event was well attended including Lizzie herself, along with one sure shocker (but appropriately titled for the event) from VH1’s “I Love New York,” Tailor Made.
