Selena Gomez determined to be “as involved as possible” with her fashion line Dream Out Loud

By Andrea Petrou on November 7th, 2011

Selena Gomez was determined to be “as involved as possible” with her fashion line.

The actress and singer is proud of her Dream Out Loud collection because she has overseen every step.

She said: “We’re releasing the fall line right now and then we’re going to start working on the spring summer line after that. Everything that is on the rack are items that I have picked out and that I have helped design, it all goes through me, I wanted to be as involved as possible, the same as with my new fragrance.”

Selena is also excited about her debut fragrance, which will be released next year, and says she decided to name it after herself to make things simpler but hopes this will be the first in a long line of perfumes in her collection.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “Yes I’m so excited about my new fragrance which will be coming out next year. I think we’re just going to name it after me for the first one because I think it would be simple to just do that for right now but I’m hoping this is the first in a line of perfumes, we’ll see.

“It’s going to be something different too because my fans are going to help me choose it so it’ll be very fan involved. I’ve had some great suggestions from my fans already, they’ve been choosing some really good fragrances so it’s very exciting.

“I’ve been going through all of the suggestions that are already online and we’ve already picked out the bottle right now. Really it’s just all about focusing in on one scent. After we pick a few winners from the contest I’m going to have ten of my fans fly up to New York and we’re going to smell them together and decide on a scent.”

Spice Girl spotlight: Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice then and now

By Andrea Petrou on October 25th, 2011

Victoria Beckham is undoubtedly the most successful Spice Girl to date, carving out a career for herself as a well respected fashion designer.

Earlier today we reported that her fashion line had reportedly made £15 million in the first three months of this year and her designs have been worn by the likes of Cheryl Cole. However, she wasn’t always a queen of style.

Back in the Spice Girl days the singer known as Posh was often spotted in questionable outfits consisting of boring black dresses that clung onto her not so toned figure. And her hair changed more times then we could remember going from that plain brown bob to edgy blonde pixie crops and then extensions.
When she met and married David Beckham however her style took on a sleeker approach. Tailored dresses and trousers clung to her new skinny figure and her hair remained short. Then came her jeans range DVB, which morphed into her now fashion line, which has put her at the forefront of the fashion world. However, since Harper Seven was born Ms Beckham’s style has softened.

Floral dresses and pastel colours have formed a staple part of her wardrobe edging out those skinny numbers.

We look at her style then and now in the gallery below.

Victoria Beckham reportedly made £15 million from her fashion line in the first three months of 2011

By Andrea Petrou on October 25th, 2011

Victoria Beckham reportedly made £15 million from her fashion line in the first three months of 2011.

The singer-turned-fashion designer raked in the staggering figures after increasing sales by 71 per cent since last season and the star – who has seen her Victoria Beckham designs worn by celebrities including Cheryl Cole and Elle Macpherson – is said to be thrilled.

A source close to the 37-year-old star – who is married to soccer superstar David Beckham – said: “Victoria never dreamed her clothing range would be successful. She is close to eclipsing her husband David!

“The fashion business is currently due to exceed all expectation with its figures up 71 per cent on last season, which equals £15 million in sales, while the turnover increases from £1.3 million to £2.8 million.

While Victoria’s designs retail for up to £5,000, she recently launched a more affordable second range – Victoria by Victoria Beckham – her second range – which she says channels her “inner girl”.

Victoria – who recently gave birth to first daughter Harper, a sister for the couple’s three sons – explained: “It’s definitely channelling my inner girl. I started this collection before I was pregnant and the doctors told me at first I was having a boy. So mainly I wanted to do dresses that I wanted, that weren’t ‘out there’ – and at the same time show that, contrary to what most people think, I do have a sense of humour.”

Kelly Osbourne wants to design her own clothing range

By emilyborrett on August 24th, 2011

“Fashion Police” host Kelly Osbourne has said that she hopes one day to design her own fashion line.

Kelly, who is currently the face of Madonna’s Material Girl fashion line, must have been inspired by Madge and Lourdes’ celebrity venture into the fashion industry, because now she wants to start her own.

When Kelly was recently asked what she’d like to have achieved in ten years, the presenter/journalist/singer/wild-child replied, “That’s hard – I don’t even know where I want to be tomorrow most of the time. I would have loved to have starred in 10 more movies and designed my own fashion line by then.”

Kelly’s got an interesting sense of style which is a cool blend of high-end designer with old vintage and punk styles, so we’d love to see what The Gobby One could come up with. Kelly – this is a challenge. DAZZLE US.

Sucker Punch actress Vanessa Hudgens wants to launch a clothing collection

By Andrea Petrou on April 1st, 2011

Vanessa Hudgens wants her own fashion line.

The ‘Sucker Punch’ actress would love to launch a clothing collection which reflected her own eclectic style, but doesn’t currently have the time to venture down a different career path.

She said: “When I find the time and the right partner to do a fashion line, I’m definitely going to.

“I would probably have different seasons dedicated to different styles. I’m one who really mixes it up in my normal life – from the cowgirl to the bohemian to the Indian princess to the rocker to God knows where.”

The 22-year-old actress has Native American, Irish and Filipino ancestry and believes her diverse ethnic background makes it easier for her to be experimental with her look.

She said: “I love fashion. I do work at it but now more than ever I get to play with my looks, especially because I’m so many different ethnicities and I can pass as so many different things.”
