Trend Alert: Geometric Prints

By Ashley on May 22nd, 2013

Prints are everywhere on the high street right now, and geometrics are owning the chic end of the market. Not to be restricted to wallpapers or ties, geometric patterns are making a big appearance in fashion terms too. There’s something very pleasing about these 1960s-inspired patterns, bringing a burst of colour and structure to otherwise simple items.

Here’s the top ten geometric garmets we are coveting right now.

Get ready for Bestival 2012: Top 5 animal print pieces for this year’s wildlife theme

By Elisabeth Edvardsen on September 4th, 2012

I’m beyond excitement to be heading to this year’s Bestival with a good friend this coming weekend. This year things will get wild on the Isle of Wight as revellers descend in their wildlife outfits for a weekend of fancy dress and music, featuring acts like Florence + The Machine, The XX, Stevie Wonder, Sigur Ros, Emeli Sande and many more.

As expected, we started thinking about the theme a bit too late. And having spent last Sunday afternoon in Camden’s Escapades looking at butterfly, bees and sexy fairy costumes, we decided that full-on fancy dress was not for us.

Instead we’ve decided to inject some wildlife to our festival outfits by wearing these utterly fantastic SpiritHoods – from £102.

If you, like us want to take part in the dressing up without opting for the onesie tiger suit, here are four more animal motif pieces to inspire your Bestival fashion.

Leopard print caped playsuit / Topshop – £46.

A Wear Panda jumper / ASOS – £25.

Zebra bodycon dress / Forever 21 – £18.75

 Ethically produced limited edition Bestival #Wildlife t-shirt / Rapanui – £20

Check out the lineup for Bestival 2012 here.

Bargain POTW dress.jpg

I might have a little too much on top to pull off this ruffly, pleated bodice. But that’s the great thing about my job – if I love something but it’s not right for me I get to share it with all of you!

Forever 21 Eadlin SS jacket

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on April 24th, 2008

Forever 21 jacket copy.jpg

Since our bargain pick of the week wasn’t as cheap as we usually keep it because of our eco-friendly stipulation, we thought we’d also show you this Forever 21 Eadlin SS jacket, $14.50.

Even Forever 21 knows what a deal they’re giving you, since this is listed as a brilliant buy.

This and a few similar jackets on Forever 21’s site would be perfectly appropriate for work, but would also lend polish to a shorts and T-shirt ensemble.

Forever 21 tunic dress

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on March 17th, 2008

tunic dress.jpg

We’re loving this tunic dress from Forever 21, $27.80.

We love their ability to create cute cuts on the cheap and this is no exception.

Plus, the embroidery provides a level of detail it’s hard to find on more affordable pieces.

We’d love this with some brown sandals and a bright cardigan that picks up one of the colors of the dress.

Yay or Nay Wednesday: floral vinyl tote from Forever 21

By Andrea Thatcher on December 12th, 2007

This floral vinyl tote with braided rope drawstring and handles is $28.80 at Forever 21. What do you think? Is is trend-right for spring with the floral motif, or does it kind of look like one of those “designer trash bags” that have prints on them? Yay or Nay?

Bargain Pick of the Week: Sateen Headband at Forever 21

By Andrea Thatcher on November 29th, 2007

We’ve really got a bargain for you this week. For less than the cost of a grande peppermint latte, you can update a look already in your closet with this sateen headband from Forever 21. While we all know the bargain retailer’s accessories are uber-affordable, I’ve also always found them of a decent quality – at least on par with what you’d find at certain mall shops and Old Navy. For only $2.80 – that’s right, less than $3 – you can tuck back flyaways or add a prim touch to an existing outfit. Check out all four colors.

Shiny Style Sale Roundup

By Andrea Thatcher on November 21st, 2007

forever21sale.jpgEveryone knows this is THE big shopping weekend–kicking off the holiday shopping the day after Thanksgiving, a.k.a. Black Friday. I’ve often wondered the reason for this name, so I Wickipedia’d it. It says, “‘Black Friday’ was originally so named because of the heavy traffic on that day, although most contemporary uses of the term refer instead to it as the beginning of the period in which retailers are in the black (i.e., turning a profit).” So that’s that, in case you were interested. Now on to the sales–continue over to the jump!

Bargain Pick of the Week: Forever 21 jeweled tube top

By Andrea Thatcher on November 16th, 2007

forever21_jeweled%20tube%20top.jpgCan you tell I like Forever 21? It’s just that they have really chic, trendy clothes for great prices! Like this jeweled tube top in Dark Grey or Black. I love the gathered look you get with the tighter bottom half of this top and the rest of the shirt flowing over–it’ll hide a little tummy, and always looks so flowy and elegant. And the faceted rhinestones trim at the top is very in right now. So make this hot tube top yours for just $24.80.
