10 curvy celebrities we love

By Elisabeth Edvardsen on January 4th, 2013

If brains are the new sexy for men, curves are the new sexy for women. With the resurgence of 50s fashion, perfect for voluptuous, feminine shapes, it’s great to see more and more women embracing their hips, boobs and bums. Don’t hide under an unflattering oversized jumper. Invest in pencil skirts and wiggle dresses. If you don’t notice a difference in the way you look, be sure men will…

Should you need any more reminding of why you should celebrate your curves, just take a look at these curvaceous celebrities.

Gemma Arterton says it’s hard to find clothes that suit her curvy figure

By Andrea Petrou on July 7th, 2011

Gemma Arterton says it’s hard to find clothes that suit her curvy figure.

The stunning actress admits she sometimes struggles to find outfits that flatter her hourglass body and can’t just wear anything so often relies on Italian fashion house Gucci.

She said: “My shape means I can’t throw on an outfit. Gucci tends to design best for my hourglass figure.”

Gemma is also a fan of tailored jackets as they go with any outfit.

She told Britain’s Vogue magazine: “I wear my tailored jackets to death – Armani, Givenchy and Margiela.”

As well as wearing certain clothes, Gemma also sticks to the same perfume and make-up.

She said: “I do love a red lip – Nars Jungle Red is my favourite.

“My scents always have hints of Jasmine. Right now, it’s Balenciaga Paris – it’s floral, light and musky.”

Gemma has previously admitted she likes to keep her style simple.

She said: “For me it’s kind of simple really. I don’t really go for anything too embellished or fancy or frilly or girly and it has to be easy because I haven’t got time for anything that’s too difficult!

“I just like putting on a pair jeans and jacket and going, although I do like heels – I’ve got a passion for shoes, but I always end up wearing the one same pair of shoes. But it works with my lifestyle because I’m always running around so it doesn’t work for me to wear tight skirts and corsets, or whatever it is! Jeans are definitely the way forward.”

Gemma Arterton’s style is a contradiction of tough and glamorous

By Andrea Petrou on March 14th, 2011

Gemma Arterton’s style is a contradiction of tough and glamorous.

The ‘Clash of the Titans’ actress believes she was the perfect choice to front G-Star’s latest collection because the fashion brand embody her choices of practical yet feminine outfits.

She said: “I feel like a tough girl in a fancy frock sometimes, and I think G-Star is the same. I like the contradiction between glamour and durability. Sometimes people are shocked when they meet me because of this contradiction.”

Gemma’s advertising campaign features in a new film, ‘G-Star New York Fashion Week’, and features celebrities including Rosario Dawson and Jared Leto at their New York Fashion Week Show.

On camera, Rosario praised the British beauty’s appointment as face of the firm.

She said: “Awesome! I am a big fan of hers, I think she is wonderful and I have heard great things about her.”

The God’s are being kind to rising starlet Gemma Arterton.  Known for her roles in Clash of the Titans and Tess of D’Urbervilles, ex-Bond girl Gemma picked up a Bafta Orange Rising Star nomination earlier this week.

A fan of block colours and elegant designs, Gemma is proving she’s a force to be reckoned with on the red carpet. Since rising to hitting our radar in 2007, she’s dazzled fans with a natural beauty to die for coupled with breath-taking couture creations from designers like Louis Vuitton, Isabel Marant, Margiela and Valentino.

With a penchant for jackets, Gemma is equally trendy out of the spotlight and is often spotted in a classic jean and jacket combo.

Gallery: Celebs turn up for Louis Vuitton Maison opening

By Andrea Petrou on May 26th, 2010

Fashion folk and celebs stepped out in their designer heels last night to mark the opening of Louis Vuitton‘s Maison store in Bond Street.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Thandie Newton, Daisy Lowe and Elle MacPherson, were some of the Louis Vuitton lovlies that stepped out decked in the designer brand to celebrate the event, which was hosted by Alexa Chung.

The store, which channelled the 50s inspired romantic looks, which form part of the Louis Vuitton A/W collection was awash with different hemlined frocks.

Gemma Arterton, Daisy Lowe and Kirsten Dunst opted for 50s style tea dresses with full skirts while shorter hemlines were worn by Elle MacPherson and Thandie Newton. And Sophie Dahl went for unique in a trouser and blouse outift.

The store opens to us folk on Friday so we expect we’ll be tottering down there straight after our SATC2 film frenzy.
