Lips have gone right back to the 80s this season with bright colours adorning our pouts.
That’s right, bright lip colours are back with a vengeance for AW 2011 thanks to a range of designers including Monique Lhuillier and House of Holland showcasing this trend.
And it seems celebrities have been quick to pick up this look with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Gleek gal Jayma Mays and Katy Perry all going for bright lips at a range of recent events.
To get the look keep eyes minimal, add foundation and a blusher with a tone that reflects the lip colour you’ve chosen to wear.
See the gallery below for some lip smacking inspiration.

Lea Michele never listens to fashion advice.
The Glee actress says she was told by the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, not to wear black for her first Golden Globe Awards but decided against his tip.
She told InStyle.com: “Ryan Murphy had told me, ‘Don’t wear black. You should never wear black. So my stylist pulled floral, beautiful colours.”
“As I’m walking to the bathroom to try them on, I see the Oscar [de la Renta] dress hanging up in her closet. I said ‘I’m wearing that.’ And I called Ryan, and said ‘Ryan, I’m wearing black!’ ”
However, it seems Ryan wasn’t upset about Lea not taking his advice as he recently praised her fashion choices.
He said: “When I met Lea, she was only sort of interested in clothes- but in the last two years she’s become a red-carpet star. I think what happened is Lea went to an event, and someone said, ‘Oh, you look pretty.’ It was an interesting moment for her.”
Lea Michele’s new love for fashion and dressing up has come from working on the ‘Glee’ show, according to boss Ryan Murphy.
The creator of Glee says Lea’s blossoming and developing sense of style is down to the confidence she’s gained since playing Rachel Berry on the show. Ryan told American Vogue: “When I met Lea, she was only sort of interested in clothes- but in the last two years she’s become a red-carpet star. I think what happened is Lea went to an event, and someone said, ‘Oh, you look pretty.’ It was an interesting moment for her.”
Lea’s certainly got the red-carpet X Factor, appearing at glitzy events in couture gowns – we always look forward to seeing what the star will be wearing next.
She’s not the only Glee star that has had a bit of an education in fashion since the beginning of the show. Chris Colfer, who plays the impeccably dressed teen Kurt, says that he’s learnt huge amounts from playing his character on the show.
He said: “When Glee started, I had no idea who Marc Jacobs was. In no way was I a fashion person! I did all my shopping at my small-town Target. Maybe if I dressed better I wouldn’t have had such a hard time in school. Now, as Kurt, I get to wear all these amazing things, by people whose names I can’t even pronounce.”
The diminutive and amazing Lea Michele, the actress who plays bossypants wannabe starlet Rachel in “Glee”, has revealed that she was urged in the past to have plastic surgery in order to get work.
Lea, who in the past has been teased and criticised about her au naturel nose, spoke out about the pressure to lose her quirky looks. “I’m five foot three. I don’t look like a lot of other people. I look like I’m 12. Managers told me, ‘Get a nose job. You are not pretty enough’. But I proved them wrong.”
Keep your chin up Lea – when in doubt, just close your eyes and think of Barbara Streisland. We love you!
There seems to be a flux of famous women opting for cropped hair recently, and Glee actress Dianna Agron is no exception. While she actually went for the chop a while ago in May, she’s in no hurry to grow her hair back again, claiming that she absolutely loves having short hair and far prefers it to her longer blonde locks.
Dianna said on the change, “I’ve probably cut and trimmed it six times and it’s changing slightly every time but I love it. I’d been dying to cut my hair for so long.”
But who knows whether she’ll be allowed to appear on screen with her new shorter ‘do when she reprises her role of Quinn on the Glee show, or have to wear a wig to recreate Quinn’s traditional cheerleader look.
We absolutely love that so many stars are opting to cut off their hair to wear it in much shorter styles – who says you need to be wearing a five hundred pound’s worth of extensions to be feminine and beautiful?
What do you think of Dianna’s new hair – do you think she looked better with longer hair or do you prefer her shorter cut? Comment below and let us know.

Jenna Ushkowitz found filming the mystery ‘Glee’ death “really hard”.
An as-yet unnamed character will pass away in the penultimate episode of the current season and the actress – who plays Tina Cohen-Chang in the show – admits the whole cast were upset when filming the scenes. “You know it was really, really sad. Any kind of death is sad and it brings you back to a place you don’t really want to go. So it kind of affects everybody. It was really hard but the episode is done really, really well.”
Jenna, 25, hopes fans will “appreciate” the storyline and thinks they will like watching the “sad” scenes.
She added to HollywoodLife.com: “It was really sweet and I think people will appreciate it. It was done in the right way. I think they’ll be sad but I think they’ll feel for the characters who will be affected by it. Any death, and especially on ‘Glee’ since you don’t expect something like that so for that to happen, I think you’re like ‘Oh, wow.’ I think fans will be shocked a little bit, and not expect anything at all. I think fans will like it.”
The ‘Glee’ cast recently shot scenes on location in New York and Jenna would love to be given a storyline which would mean working in Chicago.
She said: “I always love Chicago. I don’t know where the next show will be. I have no idea what next season will bring.”
I have heard that many girls end up with men who remind them of their dads. If it’s true I don’t know – in my experience it’s not so. But Glee actress Lea Michele – who has been in a relationship with actor Theo Stockman for two years – has revealed that she admires men who have similar traits to her father Marc, such as a good sense of humour and caring nature. Hey, as long as it’s the good traits!
Lea who is a trained Broadway actress shot to international fame with the hit US series Glee and has since wowed the world with her stunning gowns and red carpet glamour.
