Blake Lively says “it’s embarrassing” how many pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes she owns.
The Gossip Girl star is not only an avid collector of the designer’s creations – buying up to 40 pairs at a time – but also a personal friend, and helped celebrated the 20th anniversary of his collection in New York on Tuesday.
She told People.com: “They are the most beautiful shoes out there. And incredibly innovative. It’s embarrassing [how many pairs I have].”
On the evening – also attended by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Calvin Klein and Tyrese – Blake chose to wear a pair of splatter-paint snakeskin stilettos.
Christian himself was full of compliments for Blake, saying: “Not only is she beautiful, she is very talented and she’s very smart.
“One of the things that is most important for women and men, at least for me, is intelligence. Through a lot of things, she has proved that she is really intelligent and she also has this natural beauty and this natural way of moving which makes her absolutely a great image.”
Christian also gave his tips for what to expect as the high fashion for this season, adding: “A beautiful low-cut pump. Low-cut in the front and almost the colour of your skin so it can completely disappear or in black so you can wear it with different colours.”
After the party at Barneys, VIP guests headed to a private celebration at Le Caprice in the Pierre Hotel where Alicia Keys – another fan – joined the group for dinner.

Leighton Meester wants her shoes to “speak” to her.
The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress says she loves all types of footwear and will pick out shoes on whether she likes them, not on who they’re designed by.
She said: “I search for shoes that really speak to me, not the designer. “If it’s my daily kind of shoe, I usually go for the same type of style, like a platform with a thick heel. But I think variety is important.”
She also says she’s quite practical when it comes to her footwear and would never walk her dog in heels.
She said: “When I’m walking the dog, I wear sneakers because they look and feel better.”
Leighton, 25, recently revealed she is a huge fan of luxurious French footwear label Roger Vivier because they are classic designs with a modern twist.
She said: “Vivier is a very classic look, but then they have stuff with studs…they have a signature and the shoes are beautifully made but they still have an edge. I love those gloves.”

Leighton Meester always gives her own twist to an outfit.
The Gossip Girl actress says it’s important to give a unique look to clothes so whenever she wears something she always makes sure she jazzes it up.
She said: “My biggest fashion tip is take something really basic and make it your own. You could be wearing jeans and a T-shirt but if you add heals that are your style, they completely change your outfit. It’s the same with a little black dress – if you add an awesome necklace or a headscarf or a bag, that makes it special.
“My essential fashion item is a great pair of heels. They just give you that extra oomph.”
Leighton, 25, also revealed how she feels and her sexiest when she’s in simple clothes and no make-up.
She told LOOK magazine: “I can feel sexy in jeans and a T-shirt. Not trying to be sexy is really sexy. I actually think I’m prettier without make-up. It’s just about accepting what you love about yourself.”

Blake Lively has made a second visit to see Ryan Reynolds in Boston.
The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress – who recently split from Leonardo DiCaprio after five months of dating – was reportedly spotted having a romantic dinner with the 35-year-old hunk in exclusive Boston eatery Mistral Bistro last Monday.
A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: “It’s getting more serious. Ryan really respects her.”
While Blake was said to be keen to spend “a few days” with Ryan, who is filming new movie ‘C.I.P.D’ in the city, she was only able to stay one night before heading back to New York.
The visit came just days after the ‘Change Up’ star – who split from wife Scarlett Johansson last December – headed to the Big Apple to visit Blake on the set of ‘Gossip Girl’ last weekend.
A source previously said: “They hugged and then got in a car together. They became good friends on the set [of 'Green Lantern']. Now they’re both single and trying it out. They’re seeing each other casually.”
During Blake’s first visit to Boston, the pair enjoyed a romantic meal at sushi palace O Ya in the Leather District and were reportedly spotted kissing at Boston’s South Train Station on October 3.
Despite also having been linked to Charlize Theron and Sandra Bullock since his split from Scarlett, Ryan insists he isn’t “potent enough” to handle so many ladies.
He recently said: “Right now I seem to be on a speed-dating mission – at least according to those stories that are going around at the moment. Even my mom is confused. No man is potent enough to be able to go through as many women as that in such a short amount of time like I allegedly have!”

Leonardo DiCaprio and Blake Lively have split up.
The ‘Inception’ star had been dating the ‘Gossip Girl’ actress since May and although they have decided to part ways, representatives for both told UsMagazine.com they will “remain friends”.
Despite refusing to confirm their relationship in the five months they were dating, Leonardo, 35, and Blake, 24, were spotted on a string of dates throughout the summer including trips on a yacht in Disneyland, California, and a water taxi in Venice, Italy.
Leonardo also treated Blake to a helicopter ride to Saint-Paul de Vence, France for a $500 lunch at La Colombe d’Or Restaurant, a stay at the $5,000-a-night suite at Hotel de Paris and a trip on a $52 million yacht.
Blake even flew to Sydney, Australia in August to celebrate her birthday with the actor, who is shooting his new movie ‘The Great Gatsby’ in the city.
The couple enjoyed a meal at exclusive restaurant Aria and were seated at one of the eatery’s best tables which boasts a panoramic view of Sydney Harbour.
A source said: “[Blake] looked gorgeous and they looked very much like a couple. They seemed to be having a really nice time and were definitely enjoying the view.”
However, Blake spent last weekend in Boston where she enjoyed a romantic meal with ‘Green Lantern’ co-star Ryan Reynolds at sushi palace O Ya in the Leather District, the Boston Herald reported.

Blake Lively will never hire a stylist.
The ‘Gossip Girl’ star – who is often voted one of the world’s most fashionable women – says she loves putting outfits together herself and doesn’t want the advice of anyone else.
Speaking about the fashion industry, she said: “It’s a world that inspires and excites me. Some people don’t love clothes – they hire stylists and leave it to them. I’ve never hired one and I don’t plan to.”
Blake has become the latest ‘It’ girl of the fashion world, but she insists it doesn’t take away from her acting credentials.
She told Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I have a pretty good understanding of what I’ve been able to put out there so far. I’m on a show 10 months of the year that’s in people’s homes once a week, and the show is defined by its fashion, so that’s what people know me most for already.”
The 23-year-old beauty has a lot of friends in the fashion world – notably Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld – and says she’s amazed at how power US Vogue editor Anna is.
She said: “She’ll say, ‘Wear this,’ and next thing you know, it’s all over the runways.”

Blake Lively gets fashion advice from Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Louboutin.
Although the ‘Gossip Girl’ star – who is the face of Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag line – has always insisted she doesn’t use a stylist for red carpet events preferring to choose her own clothes, she admitted she does call on the fashion legends when she has a sartorial dilemma.
Speaking at the Met Costume Institute Gala where she wore a Chanel dress, Blake said: “Christian helped me pick out my shoes…He’s a good friend and somebody I trust incredibly. He’s the closest thing that I say I have to a stylist. There are few people that I ask – Karl, Christian.”
Blake also revealed she and Karl had their own unusual way of preparing for the Costume Institute Gala, which paid tribute to the late Alexander McQueen.
She said: “Before we came tonight, Karl and I met at a diner where we saw a bunch of 80 year olds. We just had tea and took pictures.”
Blake has previously admitted she was “intimidated” when she first met Karl because of his “genius”.
She said: “I was wildly intimated. He’s an incredibly intimidating person because he’s so accomplished and he’s such a genius, but the moment you meet him, he doesn’t try to intimidate you. He’s so kind and humble and alive and passionate. I love and respect him so much.”

Leighton Meester hates being called a fashion icon.
Although the ‘Gossip Girl’ star thinks her personal style has been influenced by both her move to New York and her time on the show, she wishes people weren’t so interested in what she wears because she only dresses to please herself.
She said: “‘Gossip Girl’ has absolutely changed my style. And living in New York I’ve become more brave and aware of fashion.
“I completely close my eyes to it when people call me a fashion icon because it’s an opinion from people that I don’t know. I wear what I like.”
While most actresses feel pressure to stay in shape, Leighton, 25, says working keeps her fit but admitted she doesn’t care about her weight and happily tucked into ribs every day while shooting her latest film ‘Country Strong’.
She told Britain’s OK! magazine: “I do a lot of working so that’s a lot of working out for me in my life. I don’t feel any pressure to be a particular shape.
“During the filming of ‘Country Strong’ I felt totally free to eat some ribs!”

Blake Lively was “intimidated” when she first met Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld.
The ‘Gossip Girl’ star – who is the face of the fashion house’s Mademoiselle range – struggled when she was talking with the German-born fashionista because of his “genius”.
She told website fashionista.com: “I was wildly intimated. He’s an incredibly intimidating person because he’s so accomplished and he’s such a genius, but the moment you meet him, he doesn’t try to intimidate you. He’s so kind and humble and alive and passionate. I love and respect him so much.”
However, the 23-year-old beauty also confessed she would not want to work with any other design house.
She said: “I wouldn’t want to work with anyone else. The moment I met him I said, ‘I don’t want to do a campaign unless it’s Chanel’. So it’s nice that we get to work together.”
Blake also confessed she was hoping to see all of the collection ahead of the show’s Paris Fashion Week display this weekend.
She said: “I’m going to Paris this weekend for the dinner. I’m thrilled. And hopefully Karl will give me a sneak peek of the show beforehand. I love seeing the pieces in person.”

Gossip, Gossip Girl, Project Runway
By Andrea Petrou on September 15th, 2010
By Emily Borrett.
What is it with Taylor Momsen at the moment? If she’s not having a go at fellow singers or stomping around miserably in her stripper heels and leather jacket, she’s trying the patience of her fellow celebrities. The latest disgruntled celebrity is the kind, twinkly-eyed gay uncle of fashion Tim Gunn, who was appalled by her sulky behaviour when he appeared in a cameo role on the set of Gossip Girl.
Anyone who watches Project Runway as much as I do that Tim Gunn is not an easy man to anger. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever seen him lose his rag at a designer, ever – the closest he gets to ticking anyone off is peering over his glasses like Anne Robinson and uttering to a hopelessly disorganised designer his favourite catchphrase: “Make it work.” And even then it’s not remotely threatening.
So Momsen must have been really bad for Gunn to label the actress as “pathetic” and “a diva”. The television stylist let off steam afterwards to E! Online, saying, “She was pathetic, she couldn’t remember her lines, and she didn’t even have that many. I thought to myself, ‘Why are we all being held hostage by this brat?’”
When asked what he’d like to say to the stroppy starlet he replied, “I’d say, ‘You know, young lady, there are hundreds of thousands of girls who are just as attractive and even smarter than you. Why are you acting like this show is a huge burden on you?’” Well, you know when Tim Gunn uses the term “young lady”, that you’re in serious trouble. He should send Taylor to her room ’til she’s ready to say sorry.
