Top five fringed looks for SS2011

By Andrea Petrou on April 14th, 2011

As we told you earlier on today, fringing is back with a vengeance. It made an appearance on Louis Vuitton, House of Holland and Mark Fast catwalks covering bags and coats as well as hanging off dresses.
Therefore it’s no surprise that the highstreet is buzzing with these designs from shoes to suits.
The key rule with this trend is to keep it simple.

A fringed top and skirt won’t work, so instead select one item of clothing with this detailing and accessorise with plain jewellery and if you’re feeling daring add a fringed bag or sandals. Just over do it. The fringe look may be in but the cowboy one went out a while ago.

View the gallery below for some of our fringed faves.

Agyness Deyn takes up boxing for marathon

By Andrea Petrou on April 13th, 2011

Agyness Deyn has taken up boxing during her training for the London Marathon.

The British supermodel – who is taking part in the charity run with designer Henry Holland on Sunday  says she has been working with a coach in the US to help prepare for challenge.

She told Britain’s The Times newspaper: “A friend suggested I would be good at boxing because of my long limbs, so I joined his gym in downtown New York. My coach has such a good name – Action Jackson.

“I didn’t think about what would happen if I got injured – you have to live your life.”

The 28-year-old beauty says she hopes to complete the 26.2-mile race by trying to forget about how long it is and is taking inspiration from the Tom Hanks movie ‘Forrest Gump’, in which he runs for days at a time.

She said: “My tactic for getting through the 26 miles is to go steady and stop thinking about how far I have to go. Like Forrest Gump, I just keep running.”

Agyness also keeps in good shape by watching what she eats but doesn’t deny herself treats.

She explained: “I try to be aware of what food I put in my body, and I eat lots of green veg and juices. That doesn’t mean I’ll deny myself a burger and chips, but it might mean I will make it myself, so I know what’s in it.”

Designer collaborations

You tell us: Did you queue for the H! by Henry Holland collection at Debenhams yesterday?

Hands up who queued from 7:30 for the new H! by Henry Holland range when it hit Debenham’s stores yesterday.

And another show of hands for who get their Bagazine clutches signed by the designer.
We’d like to be smug here and put both our hands up, after all you know we queue for any designer/highstreet collaboration, but we had to unfortunately miss this one.

So we want to hear from you about your experiences and what you bought after waiting for so long.

In the meantime for those who missed it, let us give you a reminder of the collection, modelled by Pixie Geldof, just incase you want to sneak down to Debenhams on your lunch-break (or elevenses).

It includes womenswear, swimwear, jewellery and accessories, as well as silk-screened clutches featuring the designer’s face and fake cover lines.

The collection is available in 64 stores throughout the country now. But we have a feeling it’s not going to hang around past the weekend.
