Has Hollywould shuttered? Creative Director Holly Dunlap has been shopping around for a buyer for months since Kellwood Co. put the company for sale. Now phones are turned off, the Web store is down, and the store front empty after a clearance sale on Monday (shoes for $49!).
I ran up to the Hollywould showroom this morning in between shows to check out their clothes and accessories for spring 2009. Here’s a gallery of their cool, chic ready-to-wear line and I’ll have more on the shoes and bags later (in a rush to go backstage at Chris Benz in a bit). I really liked the color combinations and fabrics used in this line, I found it to be very wearable and summery. It was one of the first collections that really had me in the mood to keep dressing for warm weather – we’re definitely having it in New York!

We’re big fans of Hollywould shoes here at Shiny, and were very excited when designer Holly Dunlap announced a line of bags. Holly wanted to round out her accessories collection “in order to meet our customers’ need for fun and novel bags that are able to combine the precious Italian leather quality, luxury detailing and feminine style HOLLYWOULD has been known for years.” Available in January, the bracelet bag at left is one of several different-sized bags in the same style, and there is also a selection of raffia basket bags perfect for summer. No word on price ranges, but we’ll let you know as we find out. We expect them to be similar to the shoe line.
