Launched in spring 2007, Aristocrat denim is really heating up. Not just jeans, the denim line includes quite a few cute dresses as well.
The fabrics, dyes and the dye process are all 100% eco-friendly. Founder Bak (one name, like Cher, we presume) developed a revolutionary “green wash” process uses purified water and dry processes so all Aristocrat denim is chemical-free.

Project Runway
By Andrea Thatcher on January 24th, 2008

If you watched Project Runway last night and thought you could do better, or you’ve ever complained about finding the perfect pair of jeans, here’s a chance to put your design skills where your mouth is.
Levi’s Project 501 is asking aspiring designers to use elements from their 501 jean to create a new pair, just like the designers on Project Runway. If you’re not so into the designing, you can also sign up to be a judge. The winner will have their pair sold on Levi’s Web site.

Reader Rachael Cash bemoans her long legs and lean frame that make it difficult to dress for her high school’s halls. Oh Rachael, you’ll grow into it, don’t worry. But until then, here’s an outfit that should fit your school’s dress code, won’t leave your feet hurting at the end of the day, and is still a bit fashion forward with items most of your Ohio schoolmates likely won’t have but won’t find too weird. We know you lust after European fashion, so we tried to pick items with that sort of sensibility that will still fit your high schooler’s budget.
We’ve extended the window to allow you to enter our 10 Outfits for 10 Occasions Contest and win a handbag from The Sak, a Chloe & Reese dress, or a Bruno Jamais gift certificate through the end of this week. Answers to your wardrobe questions will continue to be unveiled through the New Year when a winner will be chosen.
Continue reading for the details on Rachael’s outfit.

Blue Cult jeans will again be available in America after a 2-year break when they only sold internationally. The best part is that prices will be cheaper than they were in the past.
“It’s hard selling $150 jeans anymore,” designer Frank Mechaly told WWD. “The consumer is looking for a premium product at a lower price.”
The jeans will feature the original Blue Cult fit and distinctive U-shaped back-pocket detail. The new collection will include 15 women’s styles in a faded wash, white linen and cream twill. Prices will be an affordable $89.

Bulga, one of our favorite handbag brands, is branching out into denim for spring and we couldn’t be more excited. Not least of all because this doesn’t look like just another denim line. While we’ve chosen the most universally flattering pair, the La Peau faded, five-pocket straight leg jean to show you above, there are some really unique designs we think fashionistas are going to go for. The line will consist of nine distinguished styles with distinctive details, washes and stitching.
“If I was going to create a line of jeans, they had to be something special,” said Creative Director Natalia Konovalova said. “People have such a large choice when it comes to denim … but, I believe I have really created something different, something they can’t find anywhere else.”
See if you agree – more photos after the jump. And for on Bulga handbags, check out The Bag Lady.

Adidas is on a roll in the fashion world lately. First with its Adidas by Stella McCartney line with the golf collection to debut this spring, then teaming up with Y-3, and now signing a four-year deal with Diesel to create Adidas Originals Denim by Diesel. The jeans line will include two men’s and women’s styles and will only be available at Adidas Originals stores, which has many stores across the globe. For women, the first style will be more of a bootcut design with a slightly higher waistline available in lighter and darker washes. The second style will be black denim with a chicer look. The jeans will retail around $237 for women and $311 for men. Look for the ad campaign to launch in February.

Denim brand Seven For All Mankind is pushing beyond the blue jeans market to conquer shoes, purses, and sportswear. Seven, along with other luxury denim brands like Citizens of Humanity and True Religion, heralded in an age where spending $200 on a pair of jeans wasn’t just accepted, it was expected. But being known for only one product isn’t very lucrative, and so when VF Corp, the world’s largest apparel company, acquired the brand in a $775 million acquisition, they decided to expand. Seven purses, shoes, and clothing are currently being sold in high-end department stores and boutiques and kids and men’s non-denim lines are in the works as well. A Seven flagship is set to open in Hollywood in November. More pictures after the jump!

Teenvogue.com recently did a piece on the ten most stylish films. Their top picks: Breakfast at Tiffany’s, West Side Story, Annie Hall, Grease, Flashdance, Clueless, Romeo + Juliet, The Royal Tenenbaums, and Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. Have you ever felt like you’ve tried on every pair of jeans that exist? I have a really tough time finding the perfect pair of jeans. Right now, I have only one ‘perfect’ pair, and even then, they’re a little too long and a little too low cut for most of my shirts–but hey, they make my butt look good. That’s all that really matters, right? Well, a friend just told me about this site, www.zafu.com, that finds the brands of jeans that fit you best. It asks you a few questions about how jeans typically fit, and your body shape, and then links you to the sites to buy those jeans. You can shop by price and save your ‘My Jeans’ profile to the site. I found a bunch of brands that I’ve never tried before in a great price range–less than $50. I’m definitely going to check those jeans out, I’ll let you know how it goes.
