Jessica Alba never weighs herself.
The gorgeous actress gave birth to her second child, Haven, six week ago and while she has dropped some of the baby weight quite easily with some exercise, Jessica doesn’t put herself under any pressure to lose the extra pounds.
She said: “I didn’t gain too much time so that made a difference and I started working out as my doctor said it was fine. I try to be healthy and balanced. I have definitely not lost the baby weight but it’s coming off slowly but surely. I don’t weigh myself. I just see what clothes fit.”
However, despite her exercise regime Jessica admitted she often allows herself a calorific treat every so often, especially when her husband Cash Warren – with whom she also has a three-year-old daughter Honor – orders dessert.
She told Britain’s OK! magazine: “I try not to indulge in super-fattening food but I still have desserts as Cash always orders them and they taste so good. It’s just everything in moderation.”
Earlier today we reported that one of our favourite celebrity mummas, Jessica Alba, had finally given birth to her second daughter – congrats to her etc etc – and in tribute to one of our most beautiful and stylish heroes, we’re taking a look over her mum-to-be style over the past few months.
Jessica has taken on the challenge of fashionably dressing a bump with determination, and we think she totally succeeded. Pregnant ladies, take note of how the actress teamed floaty, comfortable maxi dresses with costume jewellery and hippy-inspired hair for a beautifully effortless look. We particularly loved her outfit at the 2011 Costume Institute Benefit Gala (a place where we can imagine baby bumps aren’t exactly en vogue), where she teamed a gorgeous floor-skimming silver chiffon gown with romantic, soft hair for a look that was pure Midsummer Night’s Dream.
We’ve put together a gallery of Jessica’s best maternity outfits, which you can see above. The best dressed mum in Hollywood? Oh, we think so.
Congratulations to Momma Alba! The Spy Kids actress, who’s been breathtakingly pregnant for a while now, finally gave birth on Saturday to her new baby girl.
The new baby, who’s been named Haven Garner, will join her three-year-old sister Honor in the Warren/Alba clan. Jessica announced Haven’s arrival on her Facebook page: “She was born on Saturday, weighed 7 lbs. and was 19 inches long. Healthy and happy! Big sister Honor couldn’t be more excited about the new addition to our family. Thank you for all of your support during my pregnancy. It means the world to me.” Aw, you’re welcome.
Haven’s arrival into the world has been long-awaited – before the birth Jessica spoke about the new addition to the family and about how excited she was. “The idea of loving someone as much as I love Honor is something I haven’t wrapped my head around yet. But I know I will and I can’t wait. As a mother carrying a baby we get to bond while the baby is growing – reaching each milestone, feeling hiccups, kicks, rolling around. It’s the blessing I think we get for all the round-ligament pain, sciatic pain and frequent trips to the bathroom.”
We love a new celebrity baby – congrats again to Jessica Alba and her hubby Cash Warren.
30 year-old Spy Kids actress Jessica Alba has confessed that having a second baby on the way, following having her daughter Honor, has made her feel more like she is “officially” a mother.
Jessica has been happily decorating her nest and preparing a new nursery for the new arrival, but has intimated what she’s most excited about is the idea of expanding her family.
She said: “It feels like you’re really officially, really truly a mother when you have two kids. One kid you’re a mother for sure but two takes it to another level.” Yep, twice as much baby poo to clean up Jess! We’re only kidding – congratulations, girl.
The super-beauty Jessica Alba, who is currently 8 months pregnant with her second baby, is already running up a plan of action for an exercise regime once the baby is born.
The new body-blitz regime will include a daily 45 minute workout session combined with a calorie limit of 1,200 calories daily. It’s times like this we don’t envy the stars – after having a baby us normal people can stay as fat as we like.
Poor Jessica has admitted that working out is not her idea of fun at all, saying, “Getting dressed and actually doing it is the worst. It’s hard to get motivated. In the gym, I have like five things to distract me: TV, iPod, magazines. Working partners are good, too, so you can chat and not just drown in your own misery. Sorry, does that sound bad? I just hate working out.” So do we, Jess, so do we!
So it’s good to know that she is planning to make the most of the end of her pregnancy before the gruelling workout and diet plan begins. If I was her, I’d be eating from Dominos in the meanwhile at least once a day.
Jessica Alba uses sunscreen everyday to keep her skin glowing.
The stunning actress – who is currently pregnant with her second child – says her beauty routine is very simple but it has always worked for her.
She told StyleList.com: “My mother always told me to wash my face every night, wear sunscreen during the day and drink plenty of water. It’s simple but I like to think that it works for me.
“I like sunscreen that’s not too heavy so I use my daughter’s California Baby.”
Another family trick Jessica swears by is to use her lipstick on her cheeks, saying: “Before there was cream blush, my grandmother would apply lipstick on her lips, cheeks and eyes. I still do that today.”
Jessica has previously revealed her mother used to practice her make-up applying skills on her because she was training to be a beautician.
Jessica said: “She was going to cosmetology school and she needed a model to practice on! It was for the swim team picture – full on winged eyeliner, the works.”
The 30-year-old beauty has also admitted she can put her look together in five minutes after learning to adjust her regime since becoming a mother three years ago.
She said: “My beauty regime has changed so much since becoming a mother.
“I’ve learnt to multitask and throw my look together in five minutes. I love make-up that I can apply with my finger tips, as it saves time.”
I’ve always liked to think that I’m on the ball when it comes to the latest fashions and it seems mother nature thinks so too, putting me slap bang into the hottest celebrity trend of 2011 – pregnancy.
That’s right, come August I’ll be joining Hollywood’s A-listers and introducing a new addition to the Shiny family in the shape of a Cath Kidston clad little boy.
However, whilst I hope to be a yummy mummy, I can guarantee I won’t be snapping straight back into stick thin shape like Abbey Clancy, nor have I remained super skinny like Victoria Beckham.
In fact I’ve embraced my bump in the same way as Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson and Selma Blair, and even found some gorgeous maternity clothes.
But that’s enough about me. View the gallery below to see who I’m joining on the pregnancy front.
Jessica Alba can’t wait to have a newborn baby again.
The ‘Little Fockers’ actress – who is currently pregnant with her second child – is looking forward to having an infant in the family again because all they want to do is be cuddled.
She said: “They’re little peanuts! They’re just the best. Their smell, and the cuddling! They’re so sweet.”
However, before her new baby arrives Jessica is concentrating on throwing her daughter Honor a third birthday party to remember next month.
She told People magazine: “I’ve been planning her birthday party. She likes playing dress-up, so there’s definitely going to be a playing dress-up element to it.”
Jessica also revealed she’s not worried about regaining her figure once she has the baby because she confident it will happen naturally because of her good genes.
She said: “My grandmother was amazing. She would go home and would put on the clothes that she wore before she got pregnant with all five of her kids. It’s definitely good genetics, but she also worked through all of her pregnancies. Just being on your feet and moving probably helped.”
While Michelle Obama has been causing fashion waves over here in the UK, celebrities in the US have been putting their fashion feet forward for a range of events.
Angelina Jolie lit up the Tree of Life premier red carpet last night in a stunning red chiffon long dress, while Lucy Lui went for a simple black pleated knee length frock for the Kung Fu Panda 2 premier in New York.
Keeping in with the black trend was Victoria Beckham who gave us a glimpse of her baby bump in a black wrap dress for Simon Fuller’s Walk of Fame Star ceremony. She was joined by Jennifer Lopez who showed off her figure in a teak sleeved bodycon dress.
Making more of a show of her baby bump was Jessica Alba who went for block black and white colours for a campaign against chemicals, while Katie Holmes really stood out in a long purple billowing frock at the 56th Annual Drama Desk Awards.
