The bright, patent pumps we’ve been seeing lately made quite a statement at the Met Gala last night – in neon pink on Diane Kruger and bright blue on Katie Holmes.
Even more so than award shows, the Costume Institute Gala must be a really romantic date night. No pressure, just lots of glamour.
Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise and the Beckhams made quite an impression on the red carpet at the Met Gala last night. As guests of co-chair, Giorgio Armani the awesome foursome were also dressed by the Italian designer.
Tons more celebs have been confirmed for the Costume Institute Gala next week, and the designers are finally dishing on who they’re dressing.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will be attending with Diane von Furstenberg, who has designed custom dresses for the duo.
But Marc Jacobs may have the most girls on his arm – Sofia Coppola, Karen Elson, Rachel Feinstein and Helena Christensen will all be his guests.

Katie Holmes was all maternal charm at the 10th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards yesterday. It’s a lovely dress, truly, and flattering enough.
But we’re quite tired of the formal variation of the miu miu (and not the good uppercase kind) no matter how sparkly it is. If Holmes is at the Oscars this Sunday we’re really hoping for more.
Since she’s such a fan of Armani, perhaps she’ll try something off his most recent couture runway? We’re just dying to see some of those gowns on the red carpet.

She looked radiant yesterday when arriving at the Ed Sullivan Theater in NYC to tape a segment for Dave Letterman. In a bright red peacoat, round-toe leather heels and what I would bet is a cream mini knit dress underneath; she appeared more than ready to fight off all of Letterman’s intrusive questions. One unfortunate side effect of wearing something straight of the runway is that you’re going to get compared to a model. I feel like this Lanvin dress on Katie Holmes, left, just proves that no matter how perfect your “real life” body is, if Hollywood can be considered real life, the dress usually looks better on a model. Sure it looks classy with the Louboutin heels and I feel like one culprit here is the lighting, but I didn’t find this exciting enough for a red carpet awards show. Perhaps the only one this season!

Last night at the Bambi Awards in Duesseldorf, Germany, Katie Homes looked fetching on the arm of Tom Cruise in a black sleek floor-length strapless sweetheart gown with bronze sequin cover. And her hair and makeup look gorgeous. Eva Longoria looks very elegant, as well, in a floor-length two-tone red satin gown. And of course her hair is curled into luxe, shining locks and makeup stunning. For more celebrity red carpet styles, continue to the jump.
Katie Holmes looked absolutely stunning last night at the German premiere of her and Tom Cruise’ new movie Lions for Lambs. I love her silver sequined sweetheart dress, and her hair and makeup make her look exquisite. And don’t forget the shoes! Look at those dazzling pewter sequined beauties–the bow on the side is just the right touch to tone down the flashy look to make them very elegant and glamorous. Although they do make her quite a bit taller than Tom, they’re so hot, she just had to wear them. Her whole look is radiant–I’m glad the lil’ ‘crazy’ spell they were under for a while seems to have passed…
