Gallery: The Sex and the City 2 London Premier
It’s finally happened. The SATC2 film has officially opened in UK cinemas today. And last night the stars, and of course our four favourite girls, were out in force to celebrate the London Premier.
We were lucky enough to get there and see all the action for ourselves, and unlike many premiers where the stars pose for a second on the red carpet before being pulled away, the four girls were more than happy to talk to all their fans from the balcony of the Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square.
Sarah Jessica Parker turned up to the event in a strapless black Alexander McQueen wiggle hem dress and bag and heels. She also, as predicted, went for a huge attention grabbing black hat by Philip Treacy (be careful Lady Gaga someone may be stealing your headpiece crown)
She also made a tribute to the late designer, saying: ”There’s only one person I could have worn tonight and that was Alexander McQueen. Lee, this is for you. I miss you very much.”
The fashionista then changed into a blue long gown for the afterparty held at the Orangery in Kensington.
Kristin Davis also wowed us on the red carpet with her vintage gold empire line Norman Norell halterneck gown, which she teamed with Jimmy Choo shoes, before going for a green taffeta frock for the after party while Cynthia Nixon went for a turquoise frock by Narciso Rodriguez, which she teamed up with Christian Louboutin shoes. She too changed into a shorter, more casual black and white patterned strapless dress for the afterparty.
However, Kim Cattrall kept her black Thierry Mugler gown and Manolo Blahnik heels on for both events, and unlike the other stars who were rumoured to have left the afterparty after only two hours, Kim rolled in at 1:30.
Other guests we caught on the red carpet were Alexandra Burke, Rachel Stevens and Tess Daly. We won’t spoil the film for you, but we will say expect lots of laughs and definitely make it a night out with the girls.
