Kim Kardashian “followed her heart” when deciding to end her marriage to Kris Humphries.
The 31-year-old socialite filed for divorce from the basketball player on Monday after just 72 days of marriage and says her “intuition” told her it was the right thing to do.
She said: “I think when you know so deep in your heart that you just to listen to your intuition and follow your heart, there’s no right or wrong thing to do.”
Kim is currently on a business trip to Australia with her sister Khloe and brother-in-law Lamar Odom and admits the pair are helping her cope with the split.
She told breakfast TV show ‘Sunrise’: “I really wanted to stick with my commitment to come out to Australia. I love the fan base here.
“I did want some time to myself but I don’t want to bail on everyone and skip out on this commitment here.
“I’ve got Khloe and Lamar here and we’re just getting through it.”
Khloe added: “I’m really proud of Kim for not bailing. She’s being really strong. Lamar and I are here to be her support.”
Meanwhile, Kim’s mother Kris Jenner revealed the whole family were saddened when they realised the marriage was going wrong.
During an appearance on the ‘Today’ show, she said: “It’s just our job now to wrap our arms around her through thick and thin.
“It certainly wasn’t for TV. We have enough going on with our show that we don’t have to make things up. She felt that she was in love with him. It was an amazing time … I had no idea there was a problem at the time. It saddens all of us.”

The man who married Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries wants them to stop their divorce.
Pastor Joel Johnson – who officiated the couple’s wedding ceremony on August 20 – would like to sit down and talk with the pair, who announced they had split yesterday, as he is upset by the decision.
He told HollywoodLife.com: “I’m sad to hear this. Why would Kim do this? I would love to connect with Kim and try to pull the reigns back and redirect this energy in a more redemptive way.”
Joel, who is Kris’ Pastor from childhood, spent time with the couple prior to their ceremony and he reveals he thought their feelings for each other were “genuine”.
He said: “I’ve known Kris a long time and gone into some deep places with him. I felt really good about the meeting. I felt what I experienced was genuine. I feel for both of them. I think two of the hardest things to deal with are wealth and fame and they have both. I knew it would be a challenging one for them.
“So many people condemned the wedding before it happened saying it wouldn’t last. But when I spoke to Kris, I knew where his heart was and I said I wanted to meet Kim personally. I was totally impressed with Kim.”
Kim, 31, filed for divorce today at the Los Angeles Superior Court after just 72 days of marriage.

One of the world’s most famous heiresses, Kim Kardashian, has said that marrying her basketball hubby Kris Humphries last week felt like she was “in heaven”.
The two wed in an extravagant fairytale ceremony in California last week in front of a star-studded guestlist of A-listers. While Kim has said that she felt like “a princess” in her Vera Wang gown at the lavishly OTT nuptials, her and Kris still insist that the day was about celebrating their love for one another and their family and not just throwing a great party. Awwww.
She told People magazine: “Glam aside, that wasn’t our main goal. It was really about our family and each other.”
Kim had not one, not two but three different Vera Wang gowns for the wedding and the reception and the guests tucked into a monstrously huge 10-tower cake from Hansen’s bakery. Well, if we were wearing Vera Wang and eating as much cake as we physically could, we’d feel like we were in heaven too.
The ceremony has been all everyone’s been talking about for weeks – but if you’re sad that it’s all over, fear not, because the couple are planning to have a second ceremony soon.

Kim Kardashian’s lavish wedding party on Saturday had to be cut short because of complaints from the neighbours.
The party was supposed to go on until 4AM, but a pesky old fire marshal turned up at midnight and ordered the music to be stopped following phone calls of complaints from those who lived nearby.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: “Around midnight DJ Cassidy, who had been spinning for an hour, was ordered to shut down because the neighbours were complaining about the volume of the music. The neighbours didn’t come over, but they called the police. Kim took the news OK and seemed relaxed about it, but her sister Khloe was pretty upset.”
Besides the inconvenient early closing of the party, the wedding was apparently a great success. Ryan Seacrest tweeted after the celebrations: “Beautiful … Kim looked regal, a perfect night. I just danced w the whole family. (sic)”.
The celebrity guests included Avril Lavigne, Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria and Demi Lovato. Meanwhile, the newly wed Kim was spotted on Sunday morning coming out of her hotel with her new hubby wearing a new Juicy Couture tracksuit with the words “Mrs Humphries” on the front. Well, we suppose it’s one way of letting the world know.

As if it wasn’t enough to have one insanely lavish wedding, Kim Kardashian is now planning a SECOND ceremony to her future hubby Kris Humphries in NYC, ten days after the first ceremony in California.
The socialite’s CEO of media, Jason Binn, tweeted about the plans for a second bash: “NY Wedding celebration! @KimKardashian, @KrisHumphries - @colincowie & I are so excited to host. (sic)”
The first ceremony, which is going to be televised, is set to be a glamorous affair. Kim is rumoured to be wearing two different $30,000 custom-designed dresses by the celebrity bridalwear designer Vera Wang. We’re so, so jealous over here.
Kim and Kris are going against tradition by asking their guests to wear black and white to the wedding, instead of the traditional grim shades of pastel,while the bridesmaids are wearing green. Why do brides always choose unflattering shades for their bridesmaids?

Chloe Moretz suddenly looks extremely grown-up in this rainbow and lace tea dress - we love her new ice-blonde hair too
We couldn’t quite believe our eyes when we were browsing the latest showbiz photos and came across a picture of the young Kick-Ass actress Chloe Moretz, at a photocall in London, looking suddenly incredibly grown-up and sophisticated in a rainbow abstract-printed dress with a teased Bardot updo and simple black sandal heels. When did this actress become so on-trend? We’re keeping a definite eye out for this girl from now on.
Also spotted in London was our favourite X Factor singer Alexandra Burke, who was at a promotional event for the new season of the show, looking sassy and girlish in a navy-blue day dress with seventies-style brown heels and stacked bangles. We love that she contrasted the dark blue of her dress with electric blue nail varnish – it’s all about the little details, as Alexandra knows.
Meanwhile, in Hollywood it was the 2011 Do Something Awards, and we spotted a few famous faces in attendance. Our favourite Charmed actress Rose McGowan, who’s always been famous for her sex appeal, showed off her classic hourglass figure in an incredibly tight wiggle dress in an on-trend star print. The dress teamed with vintage curls and old-Hollywood makeup gave the look a pin-up feel. Kim Kardashian was also there (she’s EVERYWHERE at the moment) showing off her dynamic curves in a very elegant and sleek silvery-blue gown, cinched in at the waist with a metal belt.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Kristin Bell looked cool in an edgy one-shouldered black and silver dress with chain details, with was softened by girly waved hair and heels, while Demi Lovato opted for a simple white corset dress with peep-toe heels.
The bad outfit of the day award goes to Tyra Banks, who was wearing an eye-wateringly bad ensemble of bright pink, green and blue all shoved into one horrible jumpsuit. Basically, Tyra my love, leave colour-blocking to the experts. You look mental.

Taylor Swift looked sweet and girlish as usual in a Marilyn Monroe-style white sundress
This weekend it was the teenybopper’s Oscar night as the Teen Choice Awards took place in California. All the usual teenage Disney stars and popstrels were there, along with a few more grown-up faces.
Taylor Swift, our favourite angel-faced country-pop singer, had a great weekend as she walked away with the Ultimate Choice award along with five others, including Favourite Female Artist and Favourite Country Artist. She looked sweet and girlish in a full-skirted white halternecked dress that was more than a little bit Marilyn Monroe.
Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively looked absolutely incredible in an unusual orange leather tailored dress that showed off her perfect figure (we hate her, we hate her, we hate her). She also took away the award for TV’s best dramatic TV actress.
The Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie didn’t take away any awards, though she gets a style award from us for her cool and youthful star-printed minidress. Neither did the Kardashians, though they were all out in force with their fiercest heels and sexiest dresses. Kim K looked amazing in a white-and-black cocktail dress with a feathered skirt.
Disney actress Selena Gomez, who is Justin Bieber’s current squeeze, looked pretty and sophisticated in a sexy gold satin cocktail dress with a draped chiffon train. We also loved Rachel Bilson’s look, who opted for a sweet and romantic look in a white ruffled Chloe dress.

As if there wasn’t enough of a media storm around the heiress’ upcoming nuptials as it is, Kim Kardashian has just announced that she is going to be launching a limited edition perfume, Love by Kim Kardashian, to coincide with the big day.
Kim gushed about her new upcoming wedding, “I used to think falling in love was the most incredible feeling, but now I see there’s nothing more special than the enduring beauty of building a life with your other half and watching your love grow, each and every day.”
When we say limited edition we mean really limited – only 1000 bottles have been made for public sale, with Kim keeping her own personal bottle to wear on her wedding day. So if you want to have an expensive keepsake of this silly but amazingly entertaining day, you’ll need to get in there quick.

Kim Kardashian admits it’s “hard” work to maintain her stunning figure.
The 30-year-old socialite – who is famed for her womanly curves – says her love of food means she has to work out very regularly to stop her from gaining weight, which isn’t always easy.
She told Britain’s Hello! magazine: “I love to eat, but I also love to work out, so hopefully they cancel each other out. If I need to get in shape for a photo shoot or to get back into my bikini, I cut back on processed foods and carbs for two weeks.
“I have always been curvy and for a long time I’ve been doing a class in West Hollywood called Barry’s Bootcamp. But recently I started working out with Tracy Anderson. It looks really easy but is really hard work. After 12 weeks working out with her, I really saw a difference. But it’s hard because I really love food and have a really sweet tooth. My weakness is ice cream and frozen yoghurt.”
Kim also revealed how she isn’t a fan of Botox after once using the non-invasive fillers.
She said: “I’m totally not against plastic surgery. I tried Botox and wasn’t impressed. That’s the only thing I’ve had done. My eyes looked different, but it didn’t make me look any younger, so I’m going to stick to anti-wrinkle cream for now.”

Kim Kardashian has always “defined” herself through her style.
The 30-year-old socialite – who is known for her curvy figure and sexy dress sense – says she likes to look “well put together” and makes sure she is always wearing fashionable attire.
Asked what her style is, Kim replied to Now magazine: “Sexy, for sure. I like to be well put together and on trend. I’ve always defined myself through my style. It’s how I communicate with who I am.”
Kim – who recently released a self-titled debut perfume – revealed the scent was inspired by her “girly side” and the feminine things around her.
She said: “The inspiration for my new perfume are the feminine things I surround myself with. I thought about what makes me feel special and translated that into a fragrance.
“We used gorgeous, crisp floral notes to capture my girly side.”
The reality TV star – who set to marry her basketball star fiance Kris Humphries on August 20 – recently said she isn’t interested in deviating her style, because she knows what she looks good in.
She explained: “When I moved to New York from Los Angeles, people thought my look would change, but I know what works for me and I’m sticking with it. I’ve been trying out the no make-up look, though. I get it – it’s very ‘fashion’.”

Kim Kardashian is planning a “wedding slim down”.
The 30-year-old socialite – who will marry basketball star Kris Humphries later this summer – revealed she will start using weight loss supplement QuickTrim again, on which she has previously lost 15lbs, in order to get in shape for her nuptials.
When one of Kim’s twitter followers tweeted her yesterday saying, “On my way to GNC to buy some quicktrim”, Kim responded by writing, “Take some for me! I’m about to start again! Wedding slimdown (sic)”
Kim has also been beautifying herself ahead of the big day by using at home skin care and hair removal treatments from TRIA Beauty.
She tweeted: “I have been using the new @TRIABeauty Laser since they first sent it to me to try & now I’m fully ready for summer!”
Although Kim has not announced the date of her wedding, the reality TV star and her fiance – who proposed with a 20.5 carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring – are said to be eager to tie the knot as soon as possible.
A source said: “The wedding will happen within six to eight weeks.
“The wedding shower will take place about a month from now. They’re doing things very, very quickly. It’s being fast-tracked.”

Kim Kardashian is hoping to get pregnant by the “end of the year”.
The 30-year-old socialite – whose basketball star boyfriend Kris Humphries proposed last month with a 20.5 carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring – has revealed the couple will have started trying for their first child by the time 2011 draws to a close.
Asked whether they are hoping to become parents anytime soon, Kim said: “I hope so, I really hope so. Maybe by the end of the year. Well, I won’t have a baby by the end of the year, but maybe we’ll start trying by the end of the year. After the wedding.”
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star also revealed she will be keeping her current surname once she ties the knot with Kris, but will be known as “Mrs. Humphries” at home.
She added: “I think at home and privately, for sure I’ll be Mrs. Humphries. Maybe I will make it Kim Kardashian-Humphries, but I think I will always have Kardashian for work. But at home, Humphries.”
Kim has made no secret of her desire to have a large family, but recently admitted she had scaled down her plans for six children after seeing how difficult it has been for her sister Kourtney Kardashian to raise her 18-month-old son Mason.
She said: “I do want kids. I want four. I started at six a few years ago.
“I’ve always wanted a big family. But seeing how much hard work brining up Mason is for Kourt has given me a reality check. I don’t think I’ll be rushing into that just yet!”
