Trend alert: Blue hues at The Hollywood Reporter’s Annual Power 100 : Women In Entertainment Breakfast.

By Andrea Petrou on December 8th, 2011

Blue hues were hot on yesterday’s red carpet as celebrities stepped out to celebrate The Hollywood Reporter’s Annual Power 100 : Women In Entertainment Breakfast.

Kirsten Dunst kicked off the trend in a midnight blue skirt and blouse, while Lily Collins went for a lighter hue in a 40s style shift dress.

Also channelling this trend was Felicity Jones who went for a simple shift dress in a shimmering blue.

Stepping away from blue was Kate Bosworth who went for a white military style frock, and Jennifer Love Hewitt who looked hot in a LBD.

Kirsten Dunst is having a wardrobe clear-out because she wants to start dressing her age

By Andrea Petrou on October 24th, 2011

Kirsten Dunst is having a wardrobe clear-out because she wants to start dressing her age.

The 29-year-old actress has decided to get rid of all of her “childish dresses” because she believes they are too “cute” and are no longer appropriate for her because she will turn 30 next April.

Kirsten explained to T Magazine: “I’m currently cleaning out my closet of childish dresses. I want to start dressing like I’m 30. Some of the things I have are like, I can’t wear this anymore, it’s not cute.”

While Kirsten doesn’t enjoy shopping because she is constantly besieged by fans, she confessed she does love dressing up for photo shoots.

She said: “I don’t shop for a long time. People bother you.

I like it when I do a photo shoot and it’s a fantasy of something. I knew the concept and I’m easy, you can dress me up.”

Kirsten admits to being more comfortable in vintage clothing and says the 1920s costumes she wore in ‘The Cat’s Meow’ when she played William Randolph Hearst’s actress-mistress Marion Davies were her ideal outfits.

She explained: “There was a white dress that I would have loved to have kept. People look better in black and white – it’s so much more powerful.”

Kirsten Dunst is considering a more grown-up look

By emilyborrett on August 3rd, 2011

The Virgin Suicides actress Kirsten Dunst has admitted to considering more a more grown-up wardrobe.

Kirsten, who is now 29, has always been admired for her vintage-feel, girlish sense of style – she’s often papped in pretty sundresses and ballerina flats. However, she’s been wondering lately whether or not she’s too old for her wardrobe anymore, and if it’s time for a change.

She said: “I’m 29, I keep thinking, ‘Stop with the cutesy dresses.’ I’m trying to, I honestly am. I have thing in my wardrobe that are too girlie for my age. But I like simple, feminine, casual. I don’t like overdone.”

Personally we absolutely love Kirsten’s style, and considering she still looks about fifteen we think she can still get away with it. Don’t change please, Dunst!

Style spotlight: Kirsten Dunst

By emilyborrett on May 30th, 2011

Radiant in silver-and-chiffon Chanel at the recent Cannes film festival. We think Dunst outshone so many of the other stars there!

How did we ever let the actress Kirsten Dunst slip off our radar? Once one of the best-dressed festival-goers, up there amongst the Siennas and Kates with her Ray-Bans and slouchy laid-back outfits, she’s been a little more low-profile of late. But the angel-faced actress has exploded back into our consciousness since her sartorial appearances at this May’s Cannes film festival, during which she dazzled us with a particularly incredible tiered Chanel gown. Oh yeah, and she also won “Best Actress” for her role in her new film Melancholia. Basically, the girl is back and she has more game than ever.

Far from some of her less sophisticatedly-dressed Hollywood counterparts, Kirsten has spurned minidresses and huge hair for understated elegance, opting for floaty midi-dresses and beautifully delicate-feminine fabrics that compliment her fairy-like good looks perfectly. Her whole easy style and demeanour says to us “I have never once accidentally showed a paparazzi my pants”. And that’s a style that us hopeless norms should probably try a little harder to emulate.

Check out the gallery of our favourite 2011 Kirsten looks and comment on the gallery below to let us know that you think of the actress’ style.

Gallery: Celebs turn up for Louis Vuitton Maison opening

By Andrea Petrou on May 26th, 2010

Fashion folk and celebs stepped out in their designer heels last night to mark the opening of Louis Vuitton‘s Maison store in Bond Street.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Thandie Newton, Daisy Lowe and Elle MacPherson, were some of the Louis Vuitton lovlies that stepped out decked in the designer brand to celebrate the event, which was hosted by Alexa Chung.

The store, which channelled the 50s inspired romantic looks, which form part of the Louis Vuitton A/W collection was awash with different hemlined frocks.

Gemma Arterton, Daisy Lowe and Kirsten Dunst opted for 50s style tea dresses with full skirts while shorter hemlines were worn by Elle MacPherson and Thandie Newton. And Sophie Dahl went for unique in a trouser and blouse outift.

The store opens to us folk on Friday so we expect we’ll be tottering down there straight after our SATC2 film frenzy.

Cannes Film Festival: Day 12 of celebrity style

By Andrea Petrou on May 24th, 2010

It’s been nearly a fortnight of celebrity style, gorgeous dresses and stunning hair and make-up, but one of the biggest celebrity events of the year finally wound down over the weekend.

A-listers packed their bags, took of those frocks and headed back to LA to most probably recover from the 12 days of partying and pampering during the Cannes 2010 Film Festival.

However, as we expected many of them decided to leave in a burst of more stunning dresses. Kate Beckinsale used the closing day of Cannes to show off in a black structured fishtail dress complete with sheer panels while Kirsten Dunst, who had previously played it safe in a black Chanel dress, going for an on-trend turquoise capped sleeved and high neck frock for the same event.

Diane Kruger went for a fuscia pink and black number while Milla Jovovich opted for a mix of smocking and layering for her dress at The Exodus Burnt by the Sun premier.

However it was Salma Hayek, who was the first to wear a dress by Gucci Couture on the first day of the Cannes Festival, that really blew us away with her gorgeous pink floor length gown at the closing ceremony.

Cannes day 9: AmfArRs Cinema Against AIDS benefit gala

By Andrea Petrou on May 21st, 2010

Day 9 of the Cannes Film Festival saw A-listers dressing up in the name of charity for the AmfArRs Cinema Against AIDS benefit gala at the Hotel du Cap.

And it was a night of sophisticated designer dresses. Diane Kruger, Rachel Bilson and Kirsten Dunst went for glam in Chanel dresses while Michelle Williams went for short and daring in a sequined dress by Sonia Rykiel.

Fresh off her catwalk debut Mischa Barton went for Marchesa while Jennifer Lopez unsurprisingly opted for a pink princess frock by Roberto Cavalli.

Paris Hilton also turned up in a white bridal inspired number. However our best dressed starlets of the night have to be Kate Beckinsale, who looked amazing in a silver gown by Armani Prive and Emily Blunt who wowed us in a simple red dress.
