It’s finally happened. The SATC2 film has officially opened in UK cinemas today. And last night the stars, and of course our four favourite girls, were out in force to celebrate the London Premier.
We were lucky enough to get there and see all the action for ourselves, and unlike many premiers where the stars pose for a second on the red carpet before being pulled away, the four girls were more than happy to talk to all their fans from the balcony of the Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square.
Sarah Jessica Parker turned up to the event in a strapless black Alexander McQueen wiggle hem dress and bag and heels. She also, as predicted, went for a huge attention grabbing black hat by Philip Treacy (be careful Lady Gaga someone may be stealing your headpiece crown)
She also made a tribute to the late designer, saying: ”There’s only one person I could have worn tonight and that was Alexander McQueen. Lee, this is for you. I miss you very much.”
The fashionista then changed into a blue long gown for the afterparty held at the Orangery in Kensington.
Kristin Davis also wowed us on the red carpet with her vintage gold empire line Norman Norell halterneck gown, which she teamed with Jimmy Choo shoes, before going for a green taffeta frock for the after party while Cynthia Nixon went for a turquoise frock by Narciso Rodriguez, which she teamed up with Christian Louboutin shoes. She too changed into a shorter, more casual black and white patterned strapless dress for the afterparty.
However, Kim Cattrall kept her black Thierry Mugler gown and Manolo Blahnik heels on for both events, and unlike the other stars who were rumoured to have left the afterparty after only two hours, Kim rolled in at 1:30.
Other guests we caught on the red carpet were Alexandra Burke, Rachel Stevens and Tess Daly. We won’t spoil the film for you, but we will say expect lots of laughs and definitely make it a night out with the girls.

We’re getting very excited over here at ShinyStyle today, and it’s not just because it’s Friday.
It’s because the Sex And The City ladies are back (well three of them anyway).
Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis stepped out at last nights Warner Brothers Pictures’ Big Picture 2010 showfest to talk about the long awaited SATC2 film (see the trailer here), hitting cinemas in May.
While forth member Kim Cattrall was in London performing on stage, the three other lovlies showed off their frocks. Sarah Jessica Parker opted for a typical Carrieyellow asymmetric beaded dress, while Kristin went for on-trend florals. And Cynthia went for a simple, yet striking boatneck frock.

Junior Leaguers and southern belles who aspire to Charlotte York’s feminine style are sure to be pleased by Kirstin Davi’s new clothing line.
The Sex and the City star has partnered with Belk department stores, which is a staple retailer in the 16 southern states where it is located.
“I grew up shopping at Belk,” said Davis, a Columbia, S.C., native. “It was the nicest store we had, and I’d save my allowance to go to Belk.”
The day we’ve all been waiting for has finally come and gone. Sex and the City had its New York premiere last night at Radio City Music Hall.
The nice thing is that once we’ve gorged ourselves on red carpet fashion, we still have the movie to see!

Even though we’ve been seeing lots of them lately, it’s so great to see those four together on the red carpet at the premiere of the Sex and the City movie in London!
Our U.K. sister site Catwalk Queen is sure to have lots of pics from the event, and already has listed their top 10 things to do if you’re not at the premiere tonight.
Tonight is the London premiere of the Sex and the City movie! We can’t believe it’s come so soon, and some New Yorkers can’t believe it’s coming so far. So far from Manhattan, that is.
“Everyone is upset about it and I just don’t understand why. You know, it’s the first premiere, and you can say the world premiere, that is technically true. But it’s the first of a few premieres and the biggest one will be here at Radio City Music Hall,” Kristin Davis told the LA Times. “So there was this whole thing like they’re snubbing New York or something, and I was like no, no, no, no, no. It’s saving the best for last. No offence to London. I mean, we’ve got a good little, like, a mini tour, because we are opening simultaneously.”

They might be squabbling over who is going to wear what to the première, but the ladies over at Sex and the City certainly look like they’re getting along in their new promo pictures. Dressed to kill and having a blast, the fab four have been criticised in these latest photos for appearing too airbrushed.
More pics after the jump…
The world première of the soon-to-be released Sex and the City movie is destined to be a major fashion event on par with the Oscars. And the stars are fully aware of how huge the fashion has to be. According to the Mirror, the cast of SATC are up in arms over who is going to wear which designer to the film’s début. The paper reports that Sarah Jessica Parker has been “inundated with more offers of designer gear than you can throw a Manolo Blahnik shoe at,” leaving her co-stars green with envy.
The winning bid will receive two tickets to the movie premiere in June and the chance to meet Kristin Davis, aka Charlotte, at the event, hair and makeup at the Privé Salon, and a chauffered car so you don’t hurt your feet walking in your brand new JIMMY CHOOS!
